The only kinds of luck I knew were bad and worse...until my life hung in the balance. I finally caught a break in the form of a second chance.
I vowed not to let it go to waste.
To make a difference.

But I didn’t start really living until I met him.
Dillon Montgomery.
My complete opposite—except for our matching tortured souls.

I couldn’t resist him for long.
How could I when his smallest touch made my heart race?
When it felt like we were destined to be together?

But sometimes luck and sorrow are intertwined...

Beautiful is what this book is, absolutely beautiful. It was so, so good that I think it deserves so many, many stars. All the feels. I am so glad that Rochelle Paige wrote this book. I have always been a huge fan of hers, but this book was just everything. My absolute favorite book of hers, such a treat to get to read. These two needed each other in a way that very few people could possibly understand and their love was like reading two souls joining together, it really was beautiful.

Faith’s mom was a young single mother, that really didn’t want to be a mother. When Faith was young her mom would leave her alone all the time, staying out late and then she ended up over dosing when Faith was 12. That put Faith into foster care. When Faith was a senior, she got really sick, but her foster mom didn’t like her so she didn’t take her to the doctor. By the time the other kids got sick too, Faith had already had strep for awhile. Strep is a very, very serious illness, when left untreated it causes grave damage to the body. Faith ended up having kidney failure and getting on a transplant list. She ends up receiving a kidney and by all miracles, surviving. She makes it her mission to get amazing grades and finds out that she can go to college with assistance for being a foster child. After she’s in college, she goes to other high schools and speaks to foster kids to give them a chance at college too. Help them try and get a head in life. She is such an amazing woman.

Then enters Dillon’s mom Elaine and then Dillon. Elaine reads an article about, Faith that the school did. Elaine ends up raising funds for the kids in college for additional living expenses. Dillon had been dealing with his own issues and spiraling out of control a bit, until his mom sends him to help Faith. These two were fairly inseparable after meeting.

This book takes you through many emotions and very real life altering events. It takes you through young love that is so pure and all consuming, it will make your heart happy just reading it. It was a safe read, no om or ow drama, it does stop on a cliff hanger, so my only question is “Is it May 8th yet?”...because I need the next book like nowish Rochelle Paige. I also wanted to thank Rochelle Paige for writing this book. When I was a young mother my daughter got strep all the time and it always scared me so much, because I had heard a story just like this one, except that little girl developed a heart condition and didn’t make it past 18. That story stuck with me and so will this story, even now I tear up just thinking about it. It breaks my heart. So thank you again Rochelle Paige for writing this beautiful book.

I won an ARC of this book....but I also bought it too, so good.

Faith, from a young age, learned the irony of her name. She didn't have any while being raised by an eighteen-year-old drug addicted single mom. Nor after learning said mom had no idea who her father was. Or as her mom became even more controlled by drugs, so much so to where Faith was left home alone, then subjected to numerous "uncles" as the men began coming to the house, leading Faith to find a place to hide, and certainly not when at age twelve she discovered her mom dead from an overdose.

After various foster homes, she had one constant on her life, her social worker, Sarah Steven's. And when Faith, sick for weeks but refused medical care by a foster mom, knew she needed help, that was who she called. Unfortunately, Faith seeked treatment too late and was deathly I'll, but received a miracle before succumbing to it. She refused to waste her second chance and used it instead to attend college, thanks to scholarships, and studied hard to earn a degree in social work.

Her first day, she immediately sees the difference between herself and the other students, and reprimands herself for even eyeing the handsome man laughing with his friends. She doesn't believe he'd ever look at someone like her when the "normal" girls are watching him too. Resigned, she spends the next three years focused solely on her studies and doing what she can to help other kids like her.

That dedication brought her to the attention of others resulting in an article that led Elaine Montogomery to her. Elaine, having suffered her own loss and awed by Faith's heart offers her support in any way and thus begins a program, funded by Elaine and others like her, to help other kids in the system.

When Dillon, Elaine's son, lands himself in trouble, his way of dealing with his grief, Elaine suggests he work with Faith, wanting him to see how others handle themselves and the struggles they must go through. Faith, caring for Elaine and thankful for all she does, agrees and soon she's meeting Dillon...the same boy she'd seen on her first day and believed was out of her reach.

Dillon, though he regrets disappointing his parents, is suddenly thankful for his black eye as it led to meeting Faith. He sees immediately how special Faith is and wants to spend time with her. When given the chance, he let's her know how he feels about her and soon they're an item.

As Dillon and Faith grow ever closer, their relationship only strengthens and both know they've found their one. Faith, needing to make peace with her past, takes a step to do so, having no idea what it could start.

What happens when Faith realizes her path and the Montgomerys crossed years prior? Will she lose the people she's come to love and consider her family? How will Dillon and his parents react?

I can't wait for part two, releasing May 8th, to find out.

One-click now and follow along as two people, both impacted by their own tragedies, find each other and discover a love that will change their lives.

    5.0 out of 5 stars A page-turning and thought-provoking story! Brilliant!!!
Reviewed in Germany on April 29, 2018
From all the books I've read this year so far, Fortuity was the biggest surprise! I loved the gorgeous cover and was intrigued by the blurb but I never expected this story to surpass all my expectations. I bow to Rochelle Paige for writing such a page-turning, thought-provoking and touching story that felt so real and raw. As a reader I could tell that she putted all her heart and soul into writing this book. Be warned that once you start reading you won't be able to put it down! I was so immersed into the story, I blocked everything else out. The plot was seriously brilliant! I loved how Rochelle effortlessly intertwined people's lives in a way I didn't see coming. Of course I had a bad feeling at some point and was waiting for the big scoop. But once my suspicions were confirmed, it was still a shock!

What I loved most about Fortuity was the heroine: Faith. This girl had a sad and terrible childhood and on top of all that went through hell before she was given a second chance at life. I admired her strenght and determination to make the best of the opportunity she was given. I loved how she encouraged others like her to reach for their dreams and not let their pasts stand in their way. She was a smart and remarkable young woman that still had to grasp the concept of true happiness because she never felt it before. Studying at college and wanting to become a social worker gave her lonely life purpose. But it wasn't until she met Dillon Montgomery that she really started living and found true happiness.

Dillon was her complete opposite—except for their matching tortured souls. He was rich and grew up in a privileged but loving home. On the outside he was the hot, confident and outgoing Dillon. But on the inside he was a little broken and lost. Only through Faith he learned how to cope with his tragic loss. In her he didn't only find a friend and soulmate, but a lover too. It made my heart melt how much he loved and worshiped her. She deserved someone who respected and protected her the way he did.

There was such a strong pull between  Dillon and Faith that was simply undeniable! It felt like they were destined to be together. Just as their relationship starts to blossom and their HEA is within their reach the impossible happens. They discover that luck and sorrow are unexpectedly intertwined...

I can't wait for book two in the Fortuity Duet, since book one leaves us at a very crucial point in the story where things are revealed that will majorly influence the further plot. What will Dillon and Faith do when they discover that their connection is more profound than they knew? One thing is sure, the news will shake the foundation of their relationship to the core. I'm super excited to see what Rochelle Paige has in store for them. I'm giving this gem of a book that I highly recommend 5 well deserved stars!

Rochelle you will make your mom proud with this one. Love it. Great compassion. It had me in tears. Faith was aptly named. I love how Faith and Dillon are finding love and happiness in the face of tragedy and neglect. No words can describe how I feel about this story. Just read it for yourself and you will understand. Great read and buy.

    What a great read.
What a journey the author takes you on, from Faith's early life, through the unfortunate events that put her in hospital, to getting her second chance at life.
While living her life and trying to honor the donor who gave her that chance, she meets Dillon and feels an instant connection with him.
Faith's arrival into Dillon's life comes at the perfect time to help him deal with some issues he is struggling with.
I loved these two, and I can't wait for Serenity, the conclusion of these two's story.
