L.M. Carr, author of the Giving Trilogy, the Stones Duet and a new stand alone novel, is a wife, a mom, an educator, a reader and a writer who lives in central Connecticut with her family. When she's not sitting at her computer writing, she loves to read or spend time with family and friends. This story is a spin-off from the trilogy in which Shane Davis moves to Boston for work.     This was my first time reading anything by L.M. Carr, and I am seriously impressed. I went into From A Distance having only read the blurb, but I gathered from it enough to know that I'd be in for some series twists and turns and a bit of angst. So while I may have been prepared for that, the truth is that I really had no clue. I don't want to give a lot away in this review, I truly want everyone who decides to pick up this book to go into it and be able to experience the shock and surprise of the plot as it unfolds. Believe me when I tell you that while you are reading it, you may think you know what's coming, but trust me when I tell you, you absolutely do not.

    How well do you really know your husband? What if everything you thought you knew about him was a lie? These are the types of questions that the heroine, Karrie, is pondering in the wake of tragedy. The author did an amazing job communicating Karrie's confusion, her pain, her loss, the hurt and the anger that she felt, all of it – because I felt it right along with her. Like Karrie, I wanted answers, too. The problem was that only one person had them, her husband's best friend, Tyler, a man she loathed and whom she thought felt the same way about her. Turns out nothing at all in Karrie's life was what it seemed to be, and with each new revelation that comes to light, Karrie begins to question everything. I was just as shocked at what I learned as Karrie was, and this character's pain was so palpable, I felt her outrage right along with her. But through that devastation, comes the biggest surprise of her life, and it is yet another indication that everything wasn't what it seemed to be.

    I enjoyed this book so much! I devoured it in a few hours because I just could not put it down, and it was a Kindle-in-hand-while-cooking-dinner kind of night, that's for sure. This book was well written and well developed; the plot was intriguing, exciting and suspenseful; and there was a surprising love story here that was beautiful, sexy and genuine. The emotions were plentiful, and at times dizzying, but this book sucked me in from the first page and held my interest the whole way through with an interesting plot and an epic romance. A few days after finishing this book, and I'm sitting here still thinking about it—I love that!! From A Distance by L.M. Carr gets five smooches from me!

    How does one write up a review of a book that they really felt down to their soul. LM Carr has reached into my soul and stolen a piece of me for ever with almost ever character she writes. From A Distance is just as brilliantly and epically written as The Giving Into You Series and the Casting Stones duet but there other level that Tyler Strong reaches. You fight for the hero who should get the girl and your heart breaks for the turmoil of the Distance that has to be travelled. You might lose faith in the happily ever after but it's like meeting your perfect match. These characters have a story to tell it's at times light and dark, gut wrenching and heartbreaking, sunshines and rainbows and it will pull you in and refuse to let go until the very last page. I started this book at 1am when I saw it pop up on my kindle and I finished at 630am because I could not put it down, no matter how many times I told myself just one more hour, just one more chapter, I was consumed!

    This is a hard earned 4 stars. I started off thinking I would LOVE this book because the craziness right off had me PMing the author angry messages (in a good way). As I went on things started to change. It was like watching an accident in slow motion. I found myself rereading sections thinking I missed something and found it a little hard to understand why Kerri, Alex, and Tyler did somethings throughout the story. I found myself wanting to scream at them and throw my Kindle but I was in public so I had to stew with my feelings. In the end, I felt a bit overwhelmed with some of the turns as in they were not necessary, filled with holes and over the top. For these reasons I couldn't give this story only 3 stars and since GR only deals in whole stars it receives 4 stars.

    Started out good but there were things that bothered me. Carrie was almost 30, she was very immature, blaming her husband's friend for his bad behavior, even though the husband was 15 yrs older than her and the friend. She had very involved parents, they obviously had money, she had a job, and yet she didn't deal with her husband's abuse or his obvious infidelity. She ignored all of her husband's behavior and blamed his friend?
    I had a hard time connecting with her. The best friend, is in love with her, and when he knows the husband is going to leave the wife, he chooses that time to have sex with another woman, instead of going to the wife, whom he loves? Oh, and the woman he had sex with, is the twin of the woman having an affair with the husband! Than for someone who loves the h, Tyler continues to have contact with and continues to help the woman who had the affair with the husband? I just had a hard time understanding their behavior. Also, Karrie goes from hating Tyler to all of the sudden deciding she's in love with him! This could have been really good but we never truly understand Tyler's actions. I would have liked to understand his pov, but we don't get that. I wish Karrie would have been more mature in her behavior. She seemed to just hide her head in ignorance, blame the best friend instead of the husband and run away from any real decisions.

    I didn't read the description of From a Distance. I had no idea what it was going to be going into the book. All I knew is that LM Carr wrote it and I love her work. So I plunged in. I will not write a spoiler review, because you really have to read this book for yourself. The twists, curves and angsts she throws in will break your heart while building you up for the most intense love story of a man and woman you will ever read. This book has it all...it has loss, love, betrayal, ugly parts, sad parts....there are parts where I just didn't know if I could take anymore and cried for the hero and heroine during their journey to build their family. All in all, this is a strong, amazing book. Its like nothing I have ever read. I encourage everyone to jump in and read it.

    I loved this book from the awesome cover to the last words "The End", the heartbreak and happiness between Tyler and Karrie tear at your heart strings, yes the book was predictable in places but i think that puts you on the same wave length as the author, although the last quarter of the book had twists that even i didn't see coming, I couldn't put it down but didn't want it to end either, Fantastic Read, Well done!!! a big 5 stars from me would give more!

    This one was truly a full on emotional ride filled with all the feels and tossed me from one emotional end to the other for sure.
    If you want to read a book that'll make you feel pain so good but at the same time balance it out with love and happiness, then this one is perfect.
    Right from the start, I felt for karrie. She thinks she has a beautiful marriage with a good man who even though is older than her by years, is a bit not caring, doesn't return her phone calls and many such small things which make an indirect picture of the type of man he is, she still loves him and thinks he is perfect.
    I could feel Alex, karrie's husband was definitely hiding things from her but I don't judge karrie because when you're in love you would rather hold on to the fantasy than shatter your world by opening your eyes even if it is the right thing to do.
    Then tragedy strikes for sure big time, tossing karrie's world upside down.
    But unbeknownst to her, she derives something huge from this loss.
    She finally finds the other better half of her heart.
    My heart went out to both karrie and Tyler.
    The circumstances that they both are pushed into, the trials they have to go through, the loss; It is not easy at all for a person to remain strong through all that and still hold on.
    But they both do and I totally admire them both. Even to the last of the book, when another blow is striked onto them. I was so scared and nervous as to what was gonna happen.
    I'm glad though with the ending, as initially I didn't know I was gonna survive if anything more did happen.
    But we do get our reward at the end with the way things are now with karrie and Tyler.
    OH my... So many feels. Loved this one. 😍❤️❤️❤️

    So many things happen in this book. I loved that we got to see so much of them actually together.

    But, seriously! Was it necessary to stop my heart so many times.

    I love the way Karrie turned out to be so strong. I will admit I wasn't so taken at first, but she quickly became the awesome sauce throughout.

    i loved this book from the start you could totally feel all Karrie`s emotions. it`s the one thing i love about this author`s books you feel all the emotions along the way. i love Tyler from the beginning such a kind and caring guy. the twists and turns of this book i so did not see coming. another great read from this author.
