The Future In A Nutshell Kindle Edition

5.0 out of 5 stars 1 rating

Should Christians study eschatology--the part of theology concerned with death, judgment, and the final destiny of the soul and of humankind? What does the Bible say about End Times and how can laypeople learn about it without having to scale "Mount Prophecy" to get there? Biblical prophecy is the topic of countless books, many that are long and use theological language that often escapes the average, faithful member of a Bible-believing church. The Future in a Nutshell covers in simple language the basic tenets of Biblical eschatology, providing a useful overview about what the Bible teaches about the future.

Chris Williams grew-up in Levittown, PA in the 1960s and early 70s. He has many fond memories of those years, including trips on the train to see the Phillies play at historic Connie Mack Stadium. His publishing credits include numerous short stories, feature articles and several books including his latest from Sunbury Press "Stealing First and Other Old-Time Baseball Stories."

Along with being a freelance writer, Chris is a Certified Level 3 Dog Trainer at a pet store in Hanover, PA. Chris was a radio announcer for 35 years on various stations but left the business to pursue his love of dogs as a trainer and to spend more time writing.

Williams loves to read and watch classic TV shows and movies. Some of his TV favorites include WAGON TRAIN, COMBAT! PERRY MASON and COLUMBO. Far-and-away his favorite genre of movie is comedy, with a preference for the timeless laughs offered by Laurel and Hardy, the Marx Brothers and the Three Stooges.

Musically, Chris is stuck in the 60's and 70's and makes no apologies for it. He was never cool and stopped trying to be cool decades ago. Some of his favorite artists include The Beatles, Moody Blues, Temptations, Simon and Garfunkle, Petula Clark, The Seekers, and The Monkees.

He and his wife Sue have lived in Central PA since the early 1990s.

This is an excellent summary about what the Bible teaches about the future! After spending 14 years in theological education and over a decade of pastoring, I have read many books on theology (mostly not by choice). I can honestly say that this is the most practical and concise theology of the future that I've encountered.

Chris Williams makes a very helpful contribution with this text, providing a summary of biblical teaching on the future. He teaches on biblical salvation, death, afterlife, the Tribulation, the Antichrist, and the book of Revelation. He does so in a way that is not lacking in theological content or biblical support, while at the same time using language understandable to practically anyone, even children. He pulls in what would seem to be hundreds of Scriptural texts, synthesizing them to clearly and concisely form a clear and integrated biblical theology of the future. He employs many helpful illustrations and parallels to help readers to understand what the Bible says about the future.

If you're looking for a short text on what the Bible says about the future that will be easy to read and provide ample Scriptural reference, look no further. This text is all that an more!
