Goodbye Haldane Hill: Totally Addictive Crime Fiction (A DC Holly Towns Murder Mystery) (A Port Alma Murder Mystery Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 429 ratings

Victimology: tall, slim, blond hair, jeans. And a Harvest Festival t-shirt…

Finding the body of a young woman in Haldane Hill Park rings alarm bells for Detective Constable Holly Towns. But can she even say the words ‘serial killer’ and be taken seriously?

The media names him the Port Predator, and he’s not finished. Not even close.

Another young woman is missing, and time is running out.

Officers in the Criminal Investigations Unit are focused on a set of strong suspects, but Holly is drawn in another direction. The risks are high. She’ll be an outcast if she reveals her suspect, but someone could pay the ultimate price if she ignores her instincts.

Haldane Hill also holds a gruesome surprise for a mother and child walking on the beach nearby.

Holly confirms that the pair have stumbled upon skeletal human remains, a bleached skull and a nest of bones deep in a bank overlooking the lake. Should her next call be to the coroner or an archaeologist?

The CIU officers are pulled in multiple directions, and past and present become entangled.

As if that isn’t enough, Holly skirts a scandal within her own department, determined to prove her loyalty, even if she risks her own career.

If you like complex characters, twisty plots, and a fast-paced story, the Goodbye… series is for you.

I love writing every day and the result so far is four mystery series, and counting. I’ve been retired from teaching for a couple of years, and am totally immersed in my new career as a mystery writer. I hope you enjoy the results!

New in Spring 2023! The Elk Ridge Murder Mysteries follow Inspector Hilary Casgrain in a sensational new crime fiction series! It's a spinoff from my most popular books, the Port Alma Murder Mysteries.

The longer Poodle Versus… series is a reader favorite. Small-town action, zany characters, and a Nasty Small Poodle will capture your heart in these cozy mysteries.

The Murder In Season trilogy features injured detective constable Claire Beckett.

The Free Prequels to all my series are available on my website, AnneShillolo.com.

Wow! What a story. Holly comes across a mother and child walking along the beach. The child tells her there is a dead guy by the rocks. Holly goes to investigate and discovers a human skull. As she is checking out the area, she discovers more human remains. Could this be recent remains or an archaeologist find? While on the phone to report the incident, she hears a shrill coming from Haldane Hill Park above at the embankment. She finds a dead woman. As the investigation continues, Holly can’t shake the feeling that there is more to the puzzle and starts researching the area and missing persons. She starts to put her theory to the test, and decides to ask her neighbor and her dog to join her on a walk in the area where the dead woman was found. They soon discover more dead bodies. Will Holly identify the murderer before something happens to her? Join Holly and the team as they investigate the scene and the suspects. The many twists and turns of this book keeps you reading to see what happens next. The characters are totally defined by their personalities, their decisions and the way they work through this storyline. Holly is becoming a true team player. I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I love mystery books and I love this book! And, I love the the characters which fill out the plot. The language is detailed but not with foul words. This is a huge grateful plus for me. Thanks for writing such an enjoyable series. Ready to read them all! Linda

Intuition is what Holly Towns is made of and she puts it to good use! Although her boss is continuing to impress the concept of team work to Holly her intuition no matter how far fetched it may seem helps the team bring down a serial killer in Port Alma. The characters become more serious and alive as the series progresses. Well written story lines help build the characters and give the reader more insight to Port Alma. Another great read and looking for more.
