Susan Russo Anderson is an author, a mother, a member of Sisters in Crime, a graduate of Marquette University. She's taught language arts and creative writing, worked for a publisher, an airline, an opera company. Like Faulkner's Dilsey, she's seen the best and the worst, the first and the last. Through it all, and to understand it somewhat, she writes.

WHISKEY'S GONE completes a trilogy. Fina's fourth book, THE BROOKLYN DROP, published August 2015. Fina’s fifth book, DEATH AND DISAPPEARANCE, published in May 2016. The sixth book, DORSET IN THE DARK, published in April 2017; her seventh book, THE GIRL WITH THE GOLDEN EARRINGS, in 2018 and the eighth, DEATH ON ATLANTIC AVENUE, in 2019.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2018FIVE STARS ***** Another great book by Susan Russo Anderson. I enjoyed this book and cannot wait until she releases another one. If you have never read any of Susan's books, you are missing out on some real adventures. Hope to hear that there is a new book in the near future.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2018This installment in the series had a lot of twists and turns. A case of watching a suspected unfaithful spouse end in her murder and a search for the woman's missing daughter. I wasn't sure I would!d like the introduction of the half-sister, but she grew on me by the end. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2019I have enjoyed reading this Fina Fitsgibbons series of books and hope another one is written soon. I appreciate how all the characters have their flaws yet work together to solve the mystery.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2018It started out like the ordinary case of “snooping”, but it ended up quite differently and decidedly more complex. The Fina Fitzgibbons Detective Agency takes on a new assistant, Fina’s half-sister, Kate. It seems that Kate wants to learn the trade of being a PI, but to Fina’s dismay, she often tries to take over. There is a strong rivalry between them, but a little at a time, they find a way of working together and they learn to appreciate
their new role as half-sisters.
This book introduces us to lots of characters that will compel the reader to follow them. We also meet once again characters like, Denny, Cookie, Lorraine and Jane, from the previous books. They are ever present to give Fina a hand in her investigating adventures.
As always the author sets her story in the heart of Brooklyn that she knows so well. She makes us feel this atmosphere of ethnic cultures mingling together to form the neighborhoods. She shows us the conviviality among the residents as well as the indifference.
This is still another intriguing book in the Fina Fitzgibbons series that the author has gifted her faithful readers. Enjoy!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2018I have the whole series (just finished the last one), and I enjoyed them, but I found it strange that at the end of Book 6 that Fina said she was pregnant with her & Denny's 3rd child, but in Book 7 there is nothing about her being pregnant, and only the twins are mentioned.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2020This series keeps getting better as they go on. Each of these books are well written and the characters develop over time. All previous characters keep having parts in each book.
I can’t wait to read the next book
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2019Great read-unexpected ending wasn't sure about the bi play between sister half sister
- Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2018Another good mystery with more characters added to the group. the characters all meld as the relations grow and expand. A good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Suspenseful
I’ve enjoyed Susan Anderson’s writing as well but this the first that I found less interesting... maybe it was the psychological dynamics with Fina and her sister annoyed me
