GLITCH: Book I of the Static Series Kindle Edition
In the year 2287, the United States is no more. In its place stands Tekano, a utopian society that seems to have solved all the world's problems. But as Amara Pierce, Secretary of History and daughter of the Tekano president, knows all too well, there are always secrets lurking beneath the surface of perfection.
Isa Adams, a Tekano Elite soldier, is the strongest and fastest in her unit. Her strength and skill are matched only by her stubbornness and the oversized chip on her shoulder. When the fate of Tekano is threatened by a group of rogue assassins fueled by their hatred for everything Tekano represents, Amara and Isa are brought together once again.
Their unforgettable romance was cut short by Isa's need to protect Amara, but when the stakes are raised, they must work together to save their beloved Tekano. With the help of time travel, they set out to find the rogue assassins and stop them from halting the progress of the technology that has enabled the Earth to survive climate change.
As they face danger at every turn, Amara and Isa must confront their feelings for each other and decide if their love is strong enough to withstand the challenges that lie ahead.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2023This isn’t the usual genre I read but I was pleasantly surprised when I couldn’t put it down. Jackie and Erin’s writing styles compliment each other and you can’t even tell the book is written by two people. The characters are great and the story was fast paced and intriguing. I absolutely can’t wait for the next book!

- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2023I had this one in my queue for a while because I just wasn't sure it would be something I would like, but I should have known better because I love everything Erin Zak writes. This isn't your typical love story, and I highly recommend it.

Loved the story and Isa & Amara are amazing as a couple
- Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2023I'm going to start off with my baddest complaint and the reason for the 3 star review. This book has no conclusion. I'm a big sci-fi fan and book series are a big part of the genre. However each installment needs its own story arc with a beginning, middle, and end. This book just stops. It's l Iike a to be continued 2 part episode for TV. The stopping point isn't natural. The most frustrating part of this is the book could have stopped one chapter sooner and felt more complete while leaving open enough questions to bring the reader back.
Pros:
Good premise of fixing a manipulated timeliness.
Great pacing
Likeable characters
No obvious typos
Cons:
Lack of any ending
Heavy handed social justice message
The romantic tension doesn't need to be brought up every third line
There needs to be more finesse in the last two; bring the reader along don't shove it down our throats.
Overall, it was a fun read, but had me rolling my eyes more than once and groaning at the end.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2023Loved the story and plot. The reason I don't like to read the first books us because there isn't a second and it leaves you hanging. There is no indication of when the next one is available. Why no ending? Why leave you hanging? Why can't you finish the story before you publish.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2023It was absolutely fantastic, and my question is, when is book two being released?
I was so captivated by the story and the characters. It was wonderfully written, and I can't wait to read what Isa is going to unleash when she catches up with those who took Amara.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth a read
Glitch / Erin Zak and Jackie D
Ever wanted a TV series where two lesbians from the future travel back in time to rectify a glitch that is occurring back in their own time all the while rekindling their love? You have? Well, here is the novelization of that series. In fact, like all good books, it’s even better than any not-real movie/not-real TV show.
This book is great. No info dumps about how a droid operates and which wires make the eyeballs move. You get futuristic stuff and you just go, “Yeah, ok. Cool.”
The back-to-the-future bits are full of tension. There are baddies and goodies and guns and lesbians kicking butt. And time jumping.
There are messages in Glitch such as peaceful societies, harmony with the earth, anti-guns. It’s also very America-centric (oo-rah or whatever the sound is). I noticed this because I’m not a US person. But I liked the messages. And the speed. And the lesbians. And the baddies whose bums get kicked by the lesbians.
You should read Glitch. It’s rather good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing
I'm giving this book 4 stars only because I enjoyed it so much, but not the cliffhanger ending. That was cruel.
It's an interesting different read involving time travel with an apocalypse pending. Great characters, an adventure with lots of twists and turns, bring on book 2 asap I'll be looking out for it.
