Well written, well edited, well ebooked. The fourth book in the series Echoes of War. Lots of action, many booms, lots of broken and/or dead bodies.

(From my reviews of the earlier books). The bad guys are pretty much standard fair, men and women who want (and want to use) power. "The state is the embodiment of the people. It can't be wrong." What makes this series unlike almost all modern science fiction is that (1) some of the good guys are believers (in various flavors) and (2) the good guys are not terribly sure of rightness of the path they follow.

Add energetic spymasters and and ambitious politicians to an long war and this the much worse and much stranger. (Look up von Moltke's four types of officers. Note his advice about energetic but dumb officers. I suppose it isn't a certainty that an energetic spymaster will be dumb but all ambitious politicians are certainly dumb.)

Warning: Not suitable for snowflakes (lots of violence) or SJWs (the bad guys are too much like their heroes).

If you want other (different) sci fi with believers, try Joel Rosenberg's Matzada Mercenary series (Hero or Not For Glory).

If you want other sci fi about conflicts between statists and individualists, try the early books in David Weber's Honor Harrington universe (I recommend The Short Victorious War or In Enemy Hands)

This book had a little bit of everything from traders to the bad guys helping out the good guys in ways you just don't see coming. There was also plenty of action as they freed a planet from the bad guys and a lot of the enemy surrendered to the good guys also a lot of ground battle took place in this one also.

Well-written with good plot and follow through development of the characters.

The League is out to destroy “The Lion” because this lovely large warship regularly kicks them back to earth.

The Colonel who runs the show is determined that the League will be destroyed and its hatred of all faith based civilizations will end.

Sometimes we are led right to the very doorway of Hell’s gaping maw in our personal lives and survive by God’s Grace. Often soldiers face this challenge on a daily basis. Daniel Gibbs shows us how one man leads an entire crew right to the edge of the chasm and by standing firm in his faith in God and those he leads, he overcomes an evil that threatens to destroy both his world and those he leads. The fact that Mr. Gibbs delivers such an encouragement while also providing exciting action and thrilling sci-fi entertainment makes his work a unique experience.

David has divided his team this time. He has a special team that Ruth joined on planet to do what they can to see how to free it. His second is the Lion of Judah, his ship, and its thousands of men and women. Thee Lion is on special duty to help keep the convoys moving. He finds something isn’t right and finds traitors in the convoy he must handle. This keeps his ship and men in constant battle and somehow they must find the way.
