Gifted (The Gifted Trilogy Book 1) Kindle Edition

They told me to fear him.

But what if he’s the only one I can trust?

See, the world's a dark place for a girl whose touch triggers an intrusive glimpse into other people’s memories. Madison Academy promised to “fix” me.

How quickly promises shatter.

All it takes is one forbidden touch and enemies become victims, while guardians become – I don’t know what. All I know is I’m caught in a volcanic connection with the gorgeous but troubled campus villain.

Problem is, he’s not one. Not even close. But I see things others don't, and now I’m the secret no one saw coming.

The GIFTED Trilogy is a twisted, mind-bending paranormal suspense trilogy.

** Please note: this book ends in a cliffhanger that continues in CURSED, Gifted Vol 2. See the author's website for full list of content notices.

When I opened this book, I had no idea the journey I was I about to be taken on. Moira takes us through a twisted, suspenseful tale were Rebecca is learning who she is, what she is has to offer at Madison Academy, but there is more so much more beneath the surface. Then there is Daniel. Mysterious, dangerous he is not what she was searching for but all she knew she needed.

Daniel and Rebecca's story is more than a forbidden love it's more than a first love, it's an almost everything love, an all consuming love. There were so many times I literally gasped, talked out loud to myself, and was then left speechless.

This isn't your typical love story. This is dark, this is a bit of magic, of people with gifted powers trying to live in a world and be accepted and thinking this academy is the place where they could be. But there is so much more Moira gives us just enough to pull us in and gets us ready for the next.

I am absolutely in love with this author!

The world she created is amazing! Great plot and a few spicy scenes! The world building was everything. I wanted and more!

I'm looking forward to continuation of Rebecca and Daniel's story! Can't wait to start reading Curse.

I have been drawn to stories about schools for the "gifted" for years...one I picked up by John Saul when I was in college has been the benchmark I judge others by ever since. Not too many stand up to those vague memories but Moira Hale has fascinated me with her new take on the trope. This review will be short and sweet because I can't wait to jump into part 2 of this duet.

Nothing is quite as it seems at Madison Academy as Rebecca Carson will soon find out. Daniel Mueller's reputation as the ultimate bad boy is one of the first pieces that doesn't quite fit and you are in for an amazing ride from that moment forward. As soon as you think you have a grasp on what's going on, you'll hit a 180° turn, and a 360° one in the opposite direction. Definitely worth the time spent in the long line and the price of the motion sickness bracelet.

Rebecca and Daniel were not quite what I expected when I started their story. They’re both gifted, but not everything is as it seems in the facility in which they live in. Under the impression she is learning about her gift, Rebecca enrolls and is immediately steered away from Daniel by the entire population. But as she starts to gain her own perspective, she learns that manipulation is a key component she wasn’t aware of previously. As she becomes closer with Daniel, they both start to gain knowledge regarding the far more nefarious aspects of their imprisonment.

This book is a great suspense. Its a suspense of supernatural portions though. Rebecca can see past and future when she touches people so she goes to this gifted school to help her.
There she meets Daniel but you don't know his super powers till later in the book.
What happens when they have this strong connection? Will the visions be accurate?
    Diving into cursed next.

Aly, I love the cover! It drew me in to wanting to read this story. So I went into reading this blindly. Not really knowing where the story would take me. It became a journey to find out what she sees in his future. Can't wait to read the next in this series.

If you’re looking for a different romance than the normal tropes, this book is for you. A love story, with mystery, villains and a touch of paranormal . The twists and turns throughout the book keep you on your toes. Great start to this duet.

When I found out that a favorite author of mine had written a new book, but under a different name, I was definitely curious, to say the least. What was this all about??? I HAD to find out right away!

Alyson Santos, talented writer of so many rockstar romances that have touched my angst loving heart in so many ways, has become Moira Hale, for this new creation of an unexpected, exciting world that sucked me right into its web, right from the beginning blurb.

She begins by painting this new world for her readers, setting the scene where an academy for 'gifted' teens, with paranormal abilities is the last, hopeful stop. Their families are stumped, their actions defy socially accepted behavior. I'm going to let you find out most of these for yourself, they are something wild to discover but I'll throw you this little bone!

In Gifted's heroine Rebecca's case, her unusual skill has alienated her from possible relationships at a time when a young woman dreams of them, like any other girl her age would. But love can never be for her, or could it?

A single brush or touch by her explodes unwanted visions of that persons life in her mind, little bits and pieces at a time. Sometimes what she sees is dark and disturbing- hard to have them living in your head and even harder to forget or make sense of it. Can you blame her for avoiding getting close to anyone..what a lonely exsistance. Until she finds someone in this bizarre place who might be able to understand her, if he let's himself.

What an intricate, evolving tale this was, with drama, angst and emotions hitting from all sides! Wow! Who can be trusted, how can you tell who wants to help or hurt you, when everything is upside down, inside out and crazier than you can imagine?

I was drawn, just as Rebecca was, to that mysterious stranger that seemed to have all the answers, if he was willing to share them. Hints and crumbs are hiding in dim corners to be discovered and devoured if you know where to look. There is darkness here in the Madison Academy but not the darkest I've ever read, so nothing to trigger me, but could for more sensitive readers. I thoroughly enjoyed the villians and wanted to see them pay for their heinous, evil deeds. I hoped for peace and contentment for Rebecca and her soulmate but wonder if it was possible for them to achieve any balance with their powerful 'gifts' and the obstacles that presented themselves.

This was a fantastic beginning to Moira/ Alyson's darker side, although she never shied away from it in her other books, much to my delight. Her twisty talent shines through again so of course, the next book, Cursed, is already waiting on my Kindle. How could it be any other way!

I'm not sure how many books are planned in this intriguing world but who cares, I know I'll be reading them, not matter what. I need to find out how this ends!

I loved this book! I was really pulled in by the angst and the “first love” depths of hope and despair. There were constant changes of direction, so nothing was certain, but I can’t wait to read the second book to see how everything resolves.

In this dark and twisted world there are people with special abilities , games and exploitation , an evil villain (well he might as well be ) and then there’s love and hope . Courage . Bravery .
I really enjoyed this story . Yes it’s dark and there is themes of torture and violence . Things these young adults shouldn’t have to live and feel and breath . But it’s also a great story of small victories building strength ! And yep it’s a trilogy so ends as a new beginning (no cliffy )
Looking forward to the next book !!
