    Even though this was shorter than most of Ember's other books, I love that she went back to the who started the whole community she created. Personally, I LOVE this whole series of books. I especially love how accurate all her books that came after "Protecting His Home" were perfectly meshed. Specific details from all of the characters stories were recounted in following stories were spot on. Ember is one of my favorite authors! She makes me laugh, and cry, and other feelings (obviously)... and I am reading them from the chronological order list... on to the next!

    Awwwww! I loved, loved this short story and a glimpse into Amelia and Beckett's life 4 years later. With two kids, thriving businesses, and a stream of new people being folded into their big family of friends, Amelia - the unofficial matriarch - is worried. Her life is too good. Something is bound to go wrong, and that her husband (Beckett) will eventually leave her. Because he knows his wife, Beck senses something is off with Amelia. He cooks up a plan to kidnap her for a few days so it can be just the 2 of them. I loved another extended epilogue!

    It was so great to get more of Amelia and Beckett life, after all they were the first couple to start off the family. There’s always a little drama when Amelia is around and this time is no different. When Beck knows that something is on Amelia’s mind but doesn’t want to share it, he takes it out of her hand when he kidnaps here from their girls night out. After all it’s the alpha in him that makes the heat level sizzle and making the love of his life happy is what he cares about.
