About the author

Tracy Williams was born and raised in the county of Bedfordshire, UK. With more than 15 years of experience in the field of Education. Tracy has a BA honours degree in English Literature and Education with Qualified Teacher Status. This was followed with a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Management. She then successfully completed the National Qualification for Headship. Tracy is currently a school leader working in East London, UK where she is responsible for coaching & mentoring in curriculum strategic leadership, assessment for learning, policy development, project management for Cultural Capital and staff training.
What Tracy is most proud of, are the opportunities where she and her pupils have worked to promote equality, diversity and inclusion through partnering with Dr Jak Beula, founder of the ‘Nubian Jak Community Trust’ and their work with English National Heritage. Tracy has facilitated school projects to commemorate historical figures and pioneers such as Mary Seacole, Ignatius Sanchos, Bob Marley and Frederick Douglas. Her pupils have given speeches, performed at London’s Royal Court Theatre, had their work exhibited at the Foreign Office and American Embassy and participated in a documentary that was broadcast worldwide.
Writing under the pen name ‘Tracy DW’ Tracy is the author, creator and founder of ‘Stories to be tolled’ (STBT) a multi-media platform of stories, timelines, mini documentaries and artwork designed for children from 9-14 years, young adults and schools to promote learning about British Colonial History through an approach that is thought provoking, imaginative and engaging. This platform aims to inspire curiosity and initiate the desire to embark on one’s own learning journey about the British Empire Phenomenon. Tracy's podcast 'Stories to be tolled-the podcast series' is available on all major streaming platforms. With an episode released every fortnight, Tracy continues to share her own learning journey through her own perspectives and use of historical enquiry, on a range of topics to guide her co-listeners and co-learners to 'join the dots' and 'make connections' between today's trending topics and historical milestones.
Tracy has been featured in 'Aspiring Authors' publications for US Black History Month, 'Author BAE' and the 'South Carolina Voyager' Magazine. Tracy has also been interviewed on the 'Facing Purpose Radio Show' hosted by Lakia Barnett, 'Aspiring Authors Magazine' by founder Angela Thomas Smith and more recently 'The Black Books Show' Virtual Book Tour and Author Show Case, hosted by Makonnen Sankofa. Tracy will also be featured in the next publication of the UK's' Black 100 Authors- keepers of the flame.' Tracy was a nominee for 'Authoress of the Year 2022' for 'Aspiring Authors' as well as receiving their award for 'Global Change Maker 2022.'
Tracy spends her leisure time reading commonwealth literature from which she is building her own personal library. Tracy’s interests are writing, travel, performing, live music, theatre, fitness and well-being as well as dining out. Tracy is also a songwriter and recording artist also performing under the name of Tracy DW. Her first track ‘He’s Alive’ (Jan 2020) and second track ‘Last Hour’ (Aug 2020) have received air play on the Caribbean Broadcast Network and played on rotation on Namibia’s global live radio station ‘Nam Radio.’ Her third release 'Blessed' (Sept 22) is a celebration of life and triumph through adversity. She is a verified Spotify artist and her music is available on all streaming platforms.
