- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2025I love Caroline Clemmons books - great character development and inspiring stories- I especially loved the prayers in this story as the main female character prayed for her husband when he was injured and at other times throughout - my heart was warmed- it’s a wonderful thing to find in reading a book these days- thank you Caroline Clemmons!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2022I really liked this story! And, now that I understand this is no longer a part of the Montana Sky series by Debra Holland because the Kindle World ended, the name changes of the charactes and towns make sense!
Usually, I don't like unusual or hard to pronounce names, but after learning the heroine's name is pronounce Gorm Lee (or Leah) and the name is a wonderful Irish name transliterated into English as Barbara, and the best part I learned is that a famous Irish princess had the original name, she lived from 960 to 1030. I'm kind of a fan! I still wish more characters said something like, "That's such an unusual name, how do you pronounce it again?" But, alas, they usually just act like everyone knows how to say it and spell it, like Bob or Jill.
Anyhoo, I liked this story a lot, the only thing missing was his reaction to finding out the news in the epilolgue.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2022This is a sweet and touching mail order bride tale, filled with adventure and excitement. Gormlaith is a young Irish widow anaerobes in town only to find out her groom has died. The sheriff feels badly about her circumstance and finds her another groom. They marry hoping to become friends if nothing else. Garret is injured badly and Gormlaith diligently brings him back to good health. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2023Gormlaith and Garrett faced several struggles after their quick and unplanned marriage. However they were able to face the trials with a untied front.
Beautiful epilogue 💞
- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2020Ms. Clemmons books for me back to reading Westerns. They have very engaging characters and story lines and keep my attention.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2018I very much enjoyed this book. After traveling to be a mail order bride, Gormlaith learns her groom is dead. What to do?Through the help of the law, she gets a caring groom and a chance at a new adventure. The details of life on the ranch were created so well that I felt like I was there. Also, I enjoyed how the romance develops, though any scenes are behind the bedroom door between a husband and wife.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2018I enjoyed this sweet romance and the characters, especially the Irish heroine. Her attitude reminded me how we sometimes take things for granted. It was set in winter, and I could almost feel the chill of the ice and snow.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2024Another good story! Gormlaith flees to Montana in fear of threats from her deceased husband's family. Garret becomes her husband by being in the right spot. Trouble follows but is overcome.
Again the writing just pulled me in and I couldn't put the Kindle down.
