Grudge (Malice Mafia Book 3) Kindle Edition
Malice was a broken man. A leader with a cracked crown.
Guilt was eroding his throne.
William was an opportunist. A man with a grudge.
Ambition dressed in an iron suit.
Anthony was a survivor. A lover with hope.
Healing wrapped in good intentions.
I’m a pawn, and it’s up to me to remind these men that they’re stronger together.
I just pray that this fight for power won’t tear us all apart.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2022This book wasn’t supposed to exist. CoraLee originally wrote Malice as a standalone and only the obsession of her readers motivated her to dive back into this world. I’m mentioning this to emphasize exactly just how talented Cora is and how far she is willing to go to give her readers what they’re yearning for! I’ve loved this trilogy all along and from the start I felt like Cora had her fingers wrapped around my heart and was squeezing tighter with each new chapter I uncovered. Grudge exemplified this ability of Cora’s most of all by managing to give me a powerfully emotional conclusion to this dark journey of our Malice Mafia men and their Juliet.
CoraLee is one of those authors that will never be inhibited by specific genre expectations and one of the reasons for that is her strength with writing characters and emotions, no matter the story arc or setting those are contained within. Grudge is a prime example of her skill shining and it is what makes this book my favorite of the trilogy. Nick, Anthony, William, and Juliet had such interesting dynamics from the get go. Cora never allowed them to be stuffed into the repetitive structure that we see so often, but instead made the development of the harem come across as authentic and their emotional struggles very human.
Speaking of emotional struggles, the way that Cora tackles the mental distress of these characters on the page is some of the best I’ve ever read. We are alongside Juliet for some of the most painful moments she will likely encounter in her life and it would be impossible to read these scenes without empathy just because of how immersive this all feels. I also appreciate that Cora does not make healing easy for Juliet, or any of the guys, but instead absolutely wrecks them so that they have to claw their way out of the pain and past the torment of each new barrier they encounter. Anthony has been the model of mental instability, but he also is the one that is most onboard with making a relationship work with Juliet, and his dark humor adds brevity to a story that could feel too soul-crushing to continue without; he is unlike any character I’ve come across and that speaks to Cora’s originality. While William and Nick seem to model more traditional mafia hero types, the depth of their emotions and the choices they have made since the start of the trilogy make them stand out completely.
Oh. If I don’t mention the seggsy scenes, who even am I?! As I would expect from a CoraLee June book, Grudge gave me several top notch love scenes to sink my teeth into! I appreciate the way she balances these alongside the trials our characters face and doesn’t allow them come across as gratuitous; they are treated as the necessary physical connections that can feel like a port in the storm when everything else is out of control. Plus, they’re just hot, so that’s really all I need. Thank you CoraLee for pushing yourself WAY past a quick standalone and allowing me to soak up so much more time with your words, you’re the real MVP.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2022I really loved this book. The grieving, the healing, and the growth of all the characters were great. I felt like Juliet lost herself along the way in this book and then finally, at the end, found herself again. The storyline throughout the series for nick was awesome. I felt like it really flowed well to the end. However, I feel like Williams character pulled a Daenerys Targaryen and regressed in this book what with trying to take control of the “family business” and shutting those closest to him off. I felt like his resolution with the relationship and working alongside his brothers was way too rushed. He went from being against sharing vehemently and wanting to be boss in one chapter, and the next he did a 180 and changed his mind. I wish there was more build up to that instead of the quick change of heart. I get more time passed in the book so technically it wasn’t quick, but to us readers it only feels like a few days went by because you told us “six weeks ago she died” instead of giving us insight to what was happening during those six weeks. Not much time to the reader went by. The story line with Anthony from the entire series and his struggles was great as well! However, his healing to me (again) happened so quickly. It went from he was broken and a shell of himself, to a death in the book, then all of a sudden he was healed so immediately it gave me a little whiplash. Another reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was you didn’t get an epilogue. What happens with the business? What happens in regards to her mom and David? Did the mansion get sold? A lot of questions went sort of unanswered. Even though they aren’t pressing, it still left you wondering what happened. Overall, this was a great story and would recommend it to be read! I originally thought the first book was going to be a stand-alone but was pleasantly surprised we got a series. Would definitely recommend!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2022Grudge starts out with Juliet and the guys struggling to cope with their recent loss.
Anthony has made peace with his demons, for the most part, and is determined to be by Juliet’s side and be whatever she needs. He was Juliet’s pillar of strength and source of light through the pain she is feeling throughout this book. I am absolutely in love with him. He is just so imperfectly perfect. 🖤
Nick is feeling out of control and lost. His main priority has always been to protect his family and Juliet, and he feels like he has failed. He has grown so much since we first met him in Malice, and it doesn’t take him long to realize he needs to step up and be a better version of himself for Juliet. He learns to relinquish some of his control, while still finding ways to protect his family without overstepping their boundaries. He realizes that Juliet is the most important part of his life and steps back to let William take over the family organization.
William is drowning in his insecurities and need to outdo Nick. This puts a strain not only on his relationships with his brothers, but also his chance of a future with Juliet. William makes some poor choices and ends up causing Juliet a lot of pain in the process. I love how she didn’t hesitate to put him in his place. She made it clear that he needs to accept their relationship and her love for Nick and Anthony as well as him, or walk away. Finally, towards the end, he realizes that his way of doing things is getting him nowhere. He learns that he needs Nick’s help with the organization and that they are stronger and better together. He makes it very clear to Juliet how sorry he is for his past mistakes and that he wants a chance to prove that he can be the man she deserves. He finally accepts their unconventional relationship and Juliet’s equal love for the brothers.
The bonus epilogue was so sweet and gave us a glimpse of the Civella family’s future. They are happy and thriving together. It was the perfect end to an amazing story. 🖤

5.0 out of 5 stars Grudge-ment Day
OMG CoraLee you made me cry! But I’m so happy that these bad boy brothers finally all get the girl. Dealing with grief is not easy for anyone and we all process it our own way and our own timeframe. So thank you for showing us that grief is hard. I don’t want to say anything else about this trilogy, but if you haven’t read it, you must do! And CoraLee thank you 🙏🏼

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect ending to a perfect trilogy
I’ve been waiting on this book for so long now that it’s unreal.
This trilogy was phenomenal - it had everything; a dark, murderous and possessive psychopathic control freak; a protective and loyal yet possessive businessman; and a comedic, adorable and crazy psychotic golden retriever who accepts her as she is from day one.
Every single one of these men were written differently and each one of them offered something that the others didn’t.
Not only did I love the men, I adored our FMC who is incredibly fierce and stronger than she knows. And in spite of everything, she always bounces back, with or without the help of her men.
CoraLee June has completed a masterpiece. The Malice Mafia Trilogy is one of my favourite mafia RH - one I’ve already reread once - and I will never stop loving it, or the author.
This may have been the first series I read by CoraLee June, however it definitely won’t be the last.

4.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful conclusion
I adored this series. I think it highlighted RH in a way that acknowledged the intricacies of the genre in a way that showed what it could be like if not all of the members were okay with sharing... if there were quite a few bumps and turns along the way t happiness.
I loved these characters and how raw and real they were in their emotions. Such a great journey and very steamy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant ⭐ 🌟
Grudge the final installment in the Malice Mafia Trilogy.
This book was full of pain, heartache, compassion, surprises, death, violence, kidnapping, acceptance and Love! Loved this series and this book was the perfect ending to the trilogy.
I havent read a book series like this it is soo dark, raw and delicious. Juliet was such a strong FMC from the first book but her character development throughout the books was great to read.
Nick, Anthony and in the end Williams character development again was great to read and surprising in parts.
