4.5 Stars!! An emotional and sexy, second chance romance...
4.5 Stars Returning to Redemption, Tennessee after leaving heartbroken, seven years prior, Lark Ashton dreads coming face to face with the town, and her former loved ones who all turned their backs on her. But with her beloved Aunt needing help, Lark never thinks twice about doing everything in her power to take care of her, including  moving back to Redemption... for good. Clayton Morrison is not happy to see his ex-girlfriend is back in town. After she betrayed him all the years ago, Clay is not ready for a repeat of the heartbreak he suffered at the hands of the woman he loved since the moment he first laid eyes on her... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Guilty Pleasure was an emotional and sexy, second chance romance, and an utterly delightful read! Overcoming their pain from the past will be not small feat, but a love like Lark and Clay's is timeless, and meant to be. And although they have their hurdles to overcome, they will never let another thing come between them... if only it were that easy.... Lark was a funny, sweet and incredibly giving person, and yet her life so far has been filled with one heartbreak after another. After finding her first slice of happiness living in Redemption, Lark was devastated when she lost it all from one horrendous lie told about her. Now with her return to town, Lark is starting to get used to the angry looks and all-out-hostility... or so she keeps telling herself... Clay once trusted Lark with his entire world, only to have her betray him and his family in the worst possible way. But with her return, seeing Lark again brings back all of the feelings he has locked away these past seven years, and containing them becomes harder with each and every Lark encounter.  Guilty Pleasure was another fantastic read in the unforgettable, Redemption series! Lark and Clay's angst, sexual tension and mutual dislike for one another is a recipe for an intriguing and engrossing storyline. I adored Lark, she was sweet and genuine, but girl, I would not forgive as easily as she does... people in town were TERRIBLE to her! Clay was a thoughtful and attentive boyfriend with all kinds of sexy alpha tendencies in the bedroom... although he did make some bad calls that need some serious rectifying!! I am so hooked on the fabulous Redemption series! The characters, their stories and the feeling they provide of their being so much more to come, each book might just end up being better than the last!! I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

I enjoyed this book, and the author writes really well (she’s a favorite of mine), in my opinion, but I was disappointed that Rina’s behavior was just chalked up to being spoiled. Normally, when a person, no matter the age, has such a dramatic shift in personality, it indicates that something happened to that person. Yet not one person in the entire town thought it odd that the shy, nerdy bookworm (romance at that) all of a sudden started dressing skimpy, being wild, and sleeping with everyone? My first thought was, “something bad happened to that girl” (like rape or molestation). The whole time I was expecting the author to address it later in the story, yet, by the end, the reason was that she was just spoiled as a child. Seriously? Had her personality been more “compatible” with her change, or the change more “compatible” with her personality, then that reason might work. There are always those people who no one can really pinpoint where things went so wrong for them, but in this particular instance it’s weak. I’m not even going to address the fact that everyone believed Ronny Culpepper over Lark, except to say that was also a frustrating head scratcher.

A series that you know is going to hit everyone of your requirements when reading romance. Jessica always manages to hit it out of the park and I know I'm going to be hooked when I see her name.

Lark's our leading heroine, she left town seven years ago her heart and soul in a broken mess. She had no intentions of returning but when she finds out her aunt needs her she packs up her life and returns to the place that destroyed her. Being back in a place where you are hated is not her idea of fun. Nothings changed she's still not wanted. But Lark is resilient she'll never let them see her tears or her pain.

Clay our lead never stopped loving Lark, when their lives went to hell years ago he believed a lie and cut Lark out of his life. He destroyed her but he also destroyed himself. When he sees his past walk back into his life he can't stop thinking about her. The love never died but with so much of the past hanging over them he can't see a way past it.

But with a love like these two had you know that just doesn't dry up. Secrets and lies will be exposed and with Jessica's flair for drama you are guaranteed a front row seat. Explosive chemistry that sizzles and a firey come to Jesus moment and you have the perfect storm.

    It's a yes from me.

I liked it but I’m sorry to say that half this book should have been filled with groveling. And I’m not just talking about Clay. The whole darn town turned on the poor innocent heroine. Lark was a great character but a bit on the doormat side. Clay…. What a wimpy mamas boy. I still don’t understand how a man who claims Lark is his soul mate can turn on her at the drop of a hat and believe some guy he hardly knows over her. Say it was his best friend…. Ok I could possibly see how MAYBE you would believe him but this Ronny guy was nobody to him. He just ended it. Sounded more like ole Clay just wanted to sow some wild oats with his ex (which by the way was his “soul mates” arch nemesis 🤮). I think I would have respected him much more if he had stood up to his mom and said he believed Lark, but that didn’t happen. Wasn’t until almost the very end that the whole truth came out. I was just over by that point. Good story but like I said….. where the heck was the grovel?!!

The feels were real in this one, and I wasn't really prepared for them. I figured it would be angsty, but I think I have decided that I'm never really ready for angst, it just isn't' my thing. That's not to say this wasn't a good book, it was. And the narration of the audiobook only made it that much better. But I didn't love it as much as I have with previous books by this author. I really appreciate that karma stepped up to those who need to get smacked in face by her, as that doesn't always happen. The book as a whole was good enough that I'd keep reading the series.

I read this story through without cheating on it with another book. And I am a serial cheater. So that alone is pretty solid evidence that enjoyed it.

What I liked: good writing, good characters, an interesting story line, getting worked up over how the heroine was being treated…I am always a sucker for a mistreated, innocent heroine.

What I didn’t like: while we did get Justice, I really wanted more. Really sucked that most of the town were such jerks and she forgives them so easily in the end. Also, how is she suddenly moving out and leaving her Aunt alone? Did I miss something? Did she leave her aunt with the junk car?

This book really made me question my love of Redemption. My heart actively bled for Lark. The amount of bullying she went through was absolutely uncalled for for so many reasons. First and foremost, she didn’t do anything wrong. Whether or not she did what she was accused of doing, it wasn’t wrong. I was a little disappointed in Clay. In the first three books of this series he was a solid, dependable guy who seemed like he had a heart of gold. His kindness eventually showed up, as well as his alpha protective instinct towards Lark, but for a good portion of the book he was unable to be honest with himself and took his pain out on Lark. Lark took on so much pain. She put up with a town who had turned its back on her after growing up with a father who didn’t want her. She put up with everything her cousin Rina did to hurt her, she put up with every single glare she received that wasn’t warranted, and still she showed up for her Aunt when she needed her. I knew pretty early on who the culprits of her pain were and could figure out the reasons behind them, and when the truth came out, I’m glad she made Clay work to get her back. Although a lot of their relationship in this book was about forgiveness and trust, I’m glad they finally got their happily ever after. They were truly meant for one another and I was happy Lark finally got everything she wanted and deserved in the end.

Another fab instalment in this series, although if I am being honest I would have liked to see Clay suffer a little more 😜 Clay and Lark were a great couple to read about. Loved the introduction of Aurora and Callum, and I can’t wait for their story, feels like it could be explosive 😂

Wish I lived in a town with as many hot guys as Redemption, Tennessee, I’d sit and people watch all day, and make all the leading ladies of this series my besties 😉

It was a good story. Really well written. You can really feel the emotions. I personally couldn’t get over how abusive everything I was and how easily h forgave everybody. Like I respect just wanting to move on but seriously the town treated her like dirt and then to just forgive and forget immediately is just too much. For me at least. It’s still a good book and for the people that enjoy this kind for thing it’s good, so I didn’t wanna give it a bad review.

Yes!! This story was everything! It had some serious raw emotion, sexual tension, and spicy love scenes after a delicious slow burn that had me twitching for them to get together.

At times I wanted to jump through my screen and slap sense into the main characters. I love when an author can take me through so many thoughts and emotions on their characters and they story.

I loved all series favorites showing up and for the things to come for other characters in the Redemption series.
