Idol Thoughts (H3RO Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 420 ratings

Sometimes fate leads you on a path you never intended. Mine involved managing a K-Pop group with six sexy members…

I never knew my father. Then, suddenly, he appears in my life bringing a whirlwind of change along with him. Claiming I was the heir to his Korean entertainment company, he summons me to Seoul. There, I am given a job and told to keep my identity a secret. The only person who knows who I am is my devil-spawn half-brother, Sejin, who will stop at nothing to ensure I don’t receive a penny of what he considers his rightful inheritance.

With no help and no experience in the industry, I'm given three months to turn failed boy K-Pop group, H3RO, into number one stars. As handsome as they are talented, Tae, Dante, Nate, Minhyuk, Kyun and Jun need to be allowed to do the one thing they have spent their lives training for: performing.

Yet the more time I spend with them, the more I find myself tempted by unconventional desires. Falling for all six of them, I can’t help but wonder... why choose?

** IDOL THOUGHTS is a full-length, medium-burn Reverse Harem novel. There are steamy scenes, super hot Korean idols, and a cliff-hanger. **

This story is amazing so far! When I tell you I devoured it in an evening, I mean it. It takes an adjustment to get used to everyone's names and the dynamics among the characters but that's like any RH novel. So glad I downloaded this, now it's time for book 2!

Oh man. Idol Thoughts combines some of my favorite things - a swoon worthy RH full of super sexy guys; a funny, feisty heroine; and KPOP!
Holly is in Korea getting to know the father who has never been in her life and the music entertainment company he founded. When her jerk half-brother tricks her into agreeing to an impossible challenge - hitting number one on two of the music charts with H3RO a boy band with a reputation for being unprofessional - Holly is determined to help the boys be their very best.
Each of the guys is unique and yummy though some of them are developed more in this first novel. There are a few steamy scenes but the relationship developments feel natural.
Highly recommend for any contemporary RH readers or fans of K-Dramas (there's lots of fun and funny scenes that will remind you of your favorite shows!). Book 2 and 3 were one-click buys! Can't wait to see what's next.

I’m pretty new to K-pop and this series made me want to dive into the genre! I love reverse harems and I love this k-pop spin on it because who wouldn’t want to date all of these dreamy guys! I also learned so much about Korean culture! This is a great start to the series and I was hooked pretty quickly. I finished this quickly and immediately read the next one all in one day! Highly recommend if you like reverse harems and even if you’re not familiar with k-pop, get into it!

I wanted to love this book and dive into the series, but after reading it, I couldn't bring myself to read the next. The book had a lot of potential but the writing, the way the characters come across, in the internal dialogue and the external dialogue exchange, seemed a bit young for the theme. It comes across as YA novel a lot until the sex scenes. The RH relationships seemed to develop individually, but it's not clear what the guys sees in her and from her POV, it seemed she's just really into good looking guys. Which would have been fine, she can develop the deeper feelings and relationships as we go. But I feel like the "I can't choose" seems to come out of no where. The relationships come across a bit more as lust to me and maybe that's how I should read it and see how they develop into deeper relationships over the series because clearly they do as eventually she ends up with of them.... I'll have to take a break and come back and see if I can try the 2nd book to see where the current relationships stand. But again, lots and lots of potential and good and fun insight into how kpop works.

Really good read and I like the inside look in the Kpop world. It was fast paced with just enough details to get the point across. I would have liked a bit more character development background from some of the other members of H3RO- we get some of Jun, Nate, Tae, and bit of Dante, but missing Minkyuk and Kyun. Also while we get a fill for their personalities we are left with little background of any of the characters. I would have just like a little more to round out the characters more and understand the FMC string connection to them so fast outside of looks and the fact that they were done wrong by the Entertainment Co.
Overall a good read that I would definitely recommend.

Idol Thoughts was somewhat predictable, but the characters were so engaging and the storyline interesting, that I didn't care about the tropes and lack of depth-- simply put, it was a fun read, and I enjoyed the light-hearted relationship between the group. The descriptions at the beginning of the story (explaining Korean cultural and language used in the book) was worth reading and referring back to to enrich the reading.

Okay, so I am addicted to this series! I have already purchased book 2 and 3. I love the chemistry between the main heroine Holly and the 6 (yes 6!) K-Pop stars in H3RO: Tae, Dante, Minhyuk, Nate, Kyun, and Jun. I don't even know if I can pick a favorite among them. I can't wait to see how their relationships grow in the next books and see H3RO grow in popularity with Holly managing them for success!

Amazing!!!! Finally s book with Kpop stars!!!! And an RH at that!!! I'm in love with the characters and there unique personalities.Absolutely amazing!!!! Finally someone had the sense and sheer amazingness to have Kpop stars in a book! And an RH at that!!! I love how individual each character is and yet how they just work together... I love the quirky nods to all the best kpop songs in the titles and also in the book itself referencing the other companies! It adds more realism and I love it!!

This is the first published book by J. S. Lee and I have to say I was positively suprised by the writing. The story flows nicely and the characters are well defined. What I had a problem with is that the main character Holly sometimes seems more korean than american with her actions even though she grew up in America. I'll still give the book 5 stars because it's well written and has an original storyline.

This book is incredible! It gives an awesome perspective into the Korean music industry and what it really takes for K-Pop groups to be successful. The drama is real throughout the book and I am totally here for it. Each of the characters are likeable in unique ways and I'm very excited to see how their relationships develop through the next book. I have a feeling there will be tears, mostly mine.
