Here I go again trying to write a review for one of Susan's books. By now everyone knows I'm totally in love with her books. All I can say about this book is WOW. It's difficult to write the perfect words to describe how this book made me feel besides "emotionally messy" in a fabulous way. I hung on to every word in this book, every emotion as if I were living it. Susan's books do that to me, they transport me to a different world. It's like she's inside my head sometimes. It's so raw and real and yet so perfect in Chrissie world. I loved how the story progressed, developing throughout the years until Chrissie finds her happiness. Seeing her figure out her life, work with music, made me smile. Yes, I totally smiled while reading this book. I also cringed in some parts, felt heartbroken and was excited for these characters. It was an odd combination and I had to question myself at times.

To finally see Chrissie assess her life and what she truly wants without letting her mind get in the way was wonderful. I felt for Neil, but Alan is Alan. No one compares, especially when it comes to Chrissie. To see the tug of emotions, the friendships, the love bloom is beautiful. This book has a few twists; some I knew already, others were new to me.
Of course, I loved how Affair Without End Series collides with this book and SO happy to read a bit of that in this installment. The best word for me to describe this book, and series, is perfection. It's flawless in it's own way. It's real and beautiful. It's what true romance is about, chaotic, messy and so real it's raw. So honest that you forget you're reading about fictional characters and take a moment to reflect on your own life.
I cannot wait to read The Sand and Fog series to learn more about Kaley and her life.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book from the second I started reading it last night. I loved Susan's writing of this book and how although Chrissie has changed she's very much the same with her "lame, so lame" comments. My favorite part was the suspense leading up to Chrissie finding out Neil's secret. I could not put the book down! She did such a great job building the suspense and describing Chrissie's feelings that I felt like I was right along side Chrissie with my own heart beating wilding and saying "No! Don't open the door!"

I'm glad Chrissie finally got her HEA, in the sense that she finally finds herself and is true to herself about her wants and feelings. I wish the ending was prolonged a little more but I can't wait to read more about Kaley in Susan Ward's soon to be released new series!

No matter how you read this you feel the pull. The way love Is so unfair and yet we yearn for it. I agree it's better not to see the future because of we could some of us would change that. We fight for what we want and not let it go by the waste side. I think that's what Ms. Parker had to learn in life. If not with Alan "Manny" with whoever she spent the remaining days of her life with.

I loved this story. The characters made you hate them, love them and want to scream at them to just act right. What a deep and entrancing book that I was unable to put down! I recommend this series!

Wow, just wow. What a roller-coaster of emotions this book turned out to be, way better than I expected.
It took her 3 books but Chrissie finally made the decision to take control of her life and her emotions like the adult she is. It was heartbreaking what happened with her and Neil. I kind of figured out about Neil when Chrissie saw him talking to Andy in London, but the build-up to THAT scene was so full of angst, I was hyperventilating.
There was a lot that was left unexplained in this story so I got a bit frustrated with that. Jack never explained about Linda, Rene was not mentioned after the "concert from hell", I didn't really get Jesse Harris's role... He was a neighbor who had a crush on her and wrote a book about her, and that was it? What was the point? Did she ever tell Alan Kayle is his daughter? Did she ever tell Neil?!
The epilogue mentions something about her burying Neil 10 years ago after a mention of Kurt Cobain's suicide... I got a bit confused, did he die or was she referring to the end of their marriage?!
I feel for Neil, and I think he was a nice guy. I really hope he got his happy ending too.

This book was so frustrating, or should I say, Chrissie was frustrating. I kind of had a feeling what it is that Neil must have done to be so bad to make Chrissie leave. I just wasn't expecting her to find out the way she did. I don't think anything Chrissie could have done would have changed things but she was something else in the way she would treat Neil. She was in such denial of reality and what her true feelings were for both Neil and Alan. I also was not expecting the way Chrissie found out about Jack and Linda and she had every right to react the way she did. Linda was the one who was in the wrong for she said and did and I wished that Jack could have witnessed how Linda had treated his daughter. What can I say about Renee. I believe that she is jealous of Chrissie and treats her the way that she does. She doesn't really have Chrissie's best interest at heart. That was evident in what she did to her. The ending to this series didn't answer anything. It just left me with more questions about how certain things turned out. I just hope the spin-offs will clear up a few things.

I admit it. I read the first book in the series less than a week ago - and I was so intrigued and pulled into these characters' lives, that I had to read the next three books RIGHT NOW. This is one of the hardest series I've ever read! I've wanted to slap Chrissy so many times for being so petty and irritating! I seriously don't understand what Neil and Andy see in her! I knew I should have just given up on this series from the first book but I thought maybe she'll come good in the end and the Epilogue was just dire and felt like even the author had had enough of her in the end!
