Handle With Care Kindle Edition
New York Times bestselling author of SHACKING UP and I FLIPPING LOVE YOU Helena Hunting mixes humor and heart in this scandal-filled romantic comedy.
HE WANTS TO LOSE CONTROL.
Between his parents’ messed up marriage and his narcissistic younger brother, Lincoln Moorehead has spent the majority of his life avoiding his family. After the death of his father, Lincoln finds himself in the middle of the drama. To top it all off, he’s been named CEO of Moorehead Media, much to his brother’s chagrin. But Lincoln’s bad attitude softens when he meets the no-nonsense, gorgeous woman who has been given the task of transforming him from the gruff, wilderness guy to a suave businessman
SHE’S TRYING TO HOLD IT TOGETHER.
Wren Sterling has been working double time to keep the indiscretions at Moorehead Media at bay, so when she’s presented with a new contract, with new responsibilities and additional incentives, she agrees. Working with the reclusive oldest son of a ridiculously entitled family is worth the hassle if it means she’s that much closer to pursuing her own dreams. What Wren doesn’t expect is to find herself attracted to him, or for it to be mutual. And she certainly doesn’t expect to fall for Lincoln. But when a shocking new Moorehead scandal comes to light, she’s forced to choose between her own family and the broody, cynical CEO.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2019We never met Lincoln Moorehead when we got to see what a piece of work Armstrong Moorehead was in Hooking Up. Lincoln knows what a screw up family he has so he stayed away for the longest time. Lincoln spends his time working on projects and building things for the less fortunate and in 3rd world countries. Unfortunately Lincoln had to come home for his father's funeral. Lincoln has a very low opinion of his father and knows that his father had cheated on his mother, even though Lincoln doesn't care for his mother either. Now he loves his grandmother and it is that love that guilts him into staying in NY to help out with the family company until his grandmother can find a replacement for the CEO position. This definitely does not make Lincoln happy and to make matters worse, he finds out that his mother has hired a handler for him to help make him look presentable as CEO and to also help him get up to speed on the company.
What's a love story without having Armstrong involved to make life more difficult for Lincoln and to show us that Armstrong is still a spoiled brat who thinks he can get away with anything he wants and he will somehow get bailed out by his family. Which also makes him believe that nothing is his fault and it is everyone else's fault. The first time we get formally introduced to Wren Sterling is in the conference where the will is being read for Lincoln and Armstrong's father and we see her in action when Armstrong throws his fits. I applaud Wren for being able to put Armstrong in a headlock, make him be scared of her, and puts him in his place. Lincoln also sees this and wants to know more about this woman that can handle Armstrong. However when Lincoln finds out she's his handler, he is not too happy about it.
As the 2 spend more time together because Wren is just in his face and space about everything, the two of them try to irritate each other and get on each other's nerves. They are secretly fighting the attraction that they have for each other until they finally crack and act on it. I love how Wren is so strong and can handle herself when it comes to dealing with both Lincoln and Armstrong. She knows what she wants and goes after it. Lincoln and Wren work together and play together and loves each other's company. Their relationship makes it more bearable for Lincoln to be in NY. However, when Lincoln gets too close to finding out more about his father's life away from the family, his mother decides to blackmail Wren for her to make him stop investigating. Wren must decide what she has to do in order to protect both her, her family and Lincoln. Once she lets Lincoln know about the situation with his mother, the 2 of them are determined to find out the big secret and what they find out shocks Lincoln. Lincoln finds out more about his parent's relationship and what type of person his mother truly is. With the help of his grandmother once he tells her what he uncovers, they confront his mother with some shocking results.
Throughout the story, Armstrong is his typical self and never really changes. It is not until the end and with the most unlikely person that Wren and Lincoln could imagine that could make Armstrong slightly behave but still can't make him change his ways. Wren and Lincoln find that they have the same passion in helping people and want to pursue that while Lincoln continues to be the CEO of the company, which Lincoln realizes he can restructure the company to what he wants it to be going forward. Lincoln and Wren are just the perfect couple for each other once they get to relax and be who they really are with each other and can show their true feelings to the world.
Also, the Mills family were mentioned during the book so we got a little update on what's going on with them. We also found out that Lincoln and Griffin were close and kept in touch even though they don't get to see each other much.

Lincoln has avoided his family as much as possible since he was 10 years old. His home life was cold and unloving most of the time, so when he was sent away to private school he seized that opportunity to go back only on very limited occasions. His cousin Griffin became his best friend and more a brother to him than his blood, the waste of oxygen and walking sexual harassment suit waiting to happen aka Armstrong.
Now duty requires that he return from the wilds living off the grid doing humanitarian work in third world countries in order to attend his father's funeral in NYC. Since the man was a virtual stranger to Linc, he has no plans to stick around until his firecracker grandmother who he affectionately calls G Mom lays a guilt trip on him. As the only family member he truly loves and who has always loved him, she is in a unique position to convince him to get the family business back in shape.
His glorified babysitter/ handler is a whole new wrinkle that he was not expecting. Wren was originally hired to try to control Armstrong's bad behavior and resulting negative publicity, so working with Linc should be a cakewalk. Throw in some childish pouting, bad manners and complete unwillingness to cooperate with her and she is ready to rethink her acceptance of this new position regardless of the doors it will open for her in the future courtesy of support and a recommendation from Linc's socialite mother. Add a little inconvenient simmering attraction between her and her new charge, especially after he cleans up quite nicely, and things get interesting fast!
Nothing is what they expected though. Secrets of the past from both their families threaten everything if exposed, and Lincoln's mother shows her true colors. My thoughts on that woman cannot be shared with polite society but I am sure you can use your imagination! Needless to say, both Lincoln and Wren's worlds are turned upside down and inside out in the space of a month, and they have to decide if their amazing chemistry and growing love is worth risking so much pain to others when those big secrets are revealed.
Handle with Care is another amazing read and great addition to Ms. Hunting's Shacking Up series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Da leggere assolutamente.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the read
I absolutely loved Wren and Lincoln story. Both strong characters who know who they are and know what is important.
There story was fun and easy journey. If you want to read a romance novel without the BS drama between the couple than this is for you.
Even if you love the ups and downs of this novel then you will get it from Lincoln's family dynamics.
It gave a different perspective on a topic that is generally viewed from a taboo point of view (can't say which topic as it will give away the story) which left me feeling ok about this topic for their situations.
So many great things happened in this book and I really hope the character (again don't want to give away who this person is) gets a book of their own. I also wouldn't mind if Armstrong got his own book, that would be totally interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fabulous story, full of sass, humour and wonderful characters.
Handle With Care was a fabulous story. That was fast paced and full of sass, humour, and wonderful characters, especially Wren, Lincoln and G-Mom. Not to mention some not so wonderful and yes I'm talking about Armstrong! Whose ass*****y knows no bounds and has now reached a whole new level. But boy did Wren and Lincoln know how to put him in his place and it was so delightful and pleasing to read.
As was the relationship between Lincoln and Wren. Which was full of banter, shark, heat and sweetness and I was completely enamoured. Furthermore, their charming romance was just one of the many reasons why I could not put this story down; and it's why I would definitely recommend it to others.

3.0 out of 5 stars Conflicted
Good story and the beginning was really strong but it kind of dulled afterwards. Not a lot of steam, which is odd for this author. And what with the overpresence of Hope at the end?
