I have been an artist from a very young age. From drawing cartoon characters and evolving into portraits, making jewelry, photography, and now writing. I have an amazing support system in my family and friends and couldn’t be more grateful.

I live in central New Jersey, love summers at the Jersey Shore, rock music, wine, sexy men, and laughing a lot with my amazing friends and family. Sunday dinners at my parents’ house are crazy, hysterical and you can count on a movie quote…or ten…being thrown out. Insults between siblings is how we show our love for each other!

When I’m not creating, you can find me reading books from my favorite authors. I’m a hopeless romantic, starving for passionate characters and always craving that happy ending, whether in reading or in writing my own books.

Impressive. Honestly, if I had been handed this book and known nothing about this author (which I honestly know very little) I would never have guessed that this was her first book. This was so fantastic.

A childhood bully/bullied, enemies to lovers story, this one had all the buildup I look for. The kissing was scorching hot and honestly the entire relationship developed amazingly well.

While I started out feeling this had similarities to another recent book I have read, this steered quickly into new territory and the story grew quite beautifully. Brody’s childhood and his relationship with his mother was just heartbreaking. But the love and devotion that transpired tapped into the feels something hard. Phew. I was a mess.

"For the first time in Owen’s memory, the long table his grandfather built over 40 years ago, was filled with family-blood and chosen."

Family indeed. This had such a strong sense of family. Of love. Of commitment. And of support. These moments were simply beautiful.

I have heard more is to come from this author and eagerly await more on Jonah. He was quiet force but so compassionate and strong. And Gabe…wow! Look out. I am so in love with this character. His style, his wit and his love for Brody was written perfectly. In addition, the banter with Leslie was just so well done and genuine. Every scene felt real.

I adored the aunts, the mothers and even sweet and confused Nate. Cannot wait to see more from this guy as well.

Overall, I adored every moment of this book and cannot find one thing to complain about. LOL

    ** Highly Recommended**

3.5 stars rounded to a 4. I like small town romance and the book is well written. The main reason for not liking it as much as I wanted to was the two MCs. Their characters and storyline bored me to tears. I almost gave up at 50% of the book. I started to skim at that point and only stopped to read when Gabe or Jonah’s name came up. Yes the secondary characters were far more interesting and I can’t wait to read their books.

There is no way I can convey just how impressed I am by this debut novel. It felt real, authentic, and the emotions weren't contrived or shallow. Everything had a purpose, emotional motives were on point, and redemption and forgiveness felt amazing and painful all at once.

I bled for Brody. Owen was right to be mad, to be bitter, angry, everything, and I love how the two men steadily worked past their history together, forgave each other and themselves, and moved into the future together. Real life moved along with them, the romance the focal point, but reality encroaching as it always does. Brody was so wounded and vulnerable, the facade ripped way, and Owen was the stronger of the two men, and he rose above his past as a target for bullies. Brody had one hit after another through his life once he escaped his father, and I loved the person he became.

This book was hot, emotional, funny, charming, and intelligent. The ramifications and consequences of bullying weren't sanitized, but humanized, and showed the people beneath the bad choices. So well done. I rarely read contemporary, but I will be rereading this one. Loved it.

Brody bullied Owen for being gay when they were in high school together. The bullying was bad enough that years later when they meet again, Owen still hates him. Brody is back in Havens Cove to spend time with his dying mother.

Incredibly sorry for his past behavior he tries to explain to Owen that he was wrong, that he was hiding the fact that he too is gay. Hoping that Owen will give him a chance.

Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. The chemistry between these guys jumps off the pages and made it one of the hottest books I've read. The cast of characters that fills this book truly makes it shine. Excited for the next book in the series.

I loved this book, to think what Broadly, and Owen went through in life. I loved the characters, this was a feel good story, and I enjoyed it very much. It was well written, and had a great story line.

This could be more of a “me, not the book” situation. I did not care for the pacing of the story much, particularly in regard to Owen and Brody getting together. I just couldn’t identify, connect or generate any empathy for either. Not a bad story, just didn’t resonate with me.

Parents are supposed to love us and teach us how to live good lives. Unfortunately, some are flawed and filled with hate and turn their anger on those who depend on them for safety and support.

When two young men meet 13 years after high school, they have the opportunity to right wrongs and build a meaningful future together. Though there are painful discussions, and then need for Hospice services, there is also laughter, love and the acceptance of new friends and family.

    A wonderful book.

Included elements not often seen in this genre, like the healthy end of a relationship, which I really appreciated. There was a lot of emotional nuance in this book, and all the characters were complex. I loved the writing, and I’m so looking forward to reading g the rest of the books in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great characters, interesting bully / enemies-to-lovers plot!

A baker in his small hometown of Haven’s Cove, Owen Richards has overcome the bullying he received for being openly gay in school. He’s generally happy but feels that he and his partner have fallen out of love. He’s less happy to run into building contractor Brody Walker, one of his high school bullies, who is back in town visiting his mother who is dying of cancer. Brody always regrets the way he and his friends treated Owen, especially since Brody was secretly gay himself.

I really enjoyed this bully / enemies-to-lovers romance, there were a lot of great characters and the story was chockful of interesting subplots. I liked that Owen didn’t roll over and automatically forgive Brody - everything took time to run its course, including the cancer, which was moving and sensitively handled. I also enjoyed the smooth tones of Sean Crisden, he is a favourite audio narrator! (The series is currently free on the Audible Plus catalogue)

Strong stress and overcoming the past, with all it's pain and stemming anger, creates a heartwrenching, eye-dampening 3/4 of this book. The comic relief written into the almost aggravating sidekick cousin and the flashy best friend helps stave off the heartache in a few well positioned places during the narration, and the bone-deep need for something to hang onto helps the characters to rise into a mature confrontation of all past problems. Great transition from depths of angst to warmth of HEA

Bad boy turns good who also was the bully who was even more bullied by the person who was supposed to protect him. Hiding who he really wants to be while he was younger he finally gets to show Owen the man he is now. Owen gets to show him what family is, something he's never really known. It has fun, angst, sadness and dark pasts. Can't wait to read Gabe's story.

I love a good enemies-to-lovers story, and this one definitely hit all the marks. It was slightly cliched in that the bully from high school was really only participating to avoid people realising he was gay himself - but the other aspects of Brody's life during his childhood and teen years were less common (thankfully!) and a little heartbreaking.

The characters were well developed, with the protagonists likeable and antagonists easy to hate. I couldn't help but love Owen and Brody. The alternating POV really showcased their emotional turmoil throughout the book - Brody at losing his mother, having to revisit all of the awful childhood memories, and face his own actions as well; Owen in finding himself attracted to one of his high school bullies, even though he could see that he was a different person 15yrs on, the hurt and betrayal was still there for him to work through. Their friends and family were amazing, supportive and added a warmth and richness to the story.

The storyline itself flowed smoothly, was well paced and all plotlines resolved without being rushed.

I look forward to reading more in this series, and from this author in general. A definite recommend from me!
