Gabe D’Angelo has it all. Designer clothes, luxury cars, a cool confidence most would envy, and a never-ending supply of money—and men. But when that mysterious, brooding man refuses all Gabe’s advances, he is forced to take a step back and truly look at the person he’s become.Nate Black moved from Boston to Haven’s Cove for his family. He’s missed small town living and the simple, tranquil life that comes with it. What he doesn’t bargain for is the pushy, spoiled playboy who’s set his eyes on Nate as his next conquest. Knowing this man has the potential to crack the foundation of his quiet life, Nate will do everything he can to protect his safe, closed-off world. Is one man worth loving? Is the other worth the sacrifice? Or is the love they’re searching for not just hard to get but completely out of reach?

I have been an artist from a very young age. From drawing cartoon characters and evolving into portraits, making jewelry, photography, and now writing. I have an amazing support system in my family and friends and couldn’t be more grateful.

I live in central New Jersey, love summers at the Jersey Shore, rock music, wine, sexy men, and laughing a lot with my amazing friends and family. Sunday dinners at my parents’ house are crazy, hysterical and you can count on a movie quote…or ten…being thrown out. Insults between siblings is how we show our love for each other!

When I’m not creating, you can find me reading books from my favorite authors. I’m a hopeless romantic, starving for passionate characters and always craving that happy ending, whether in reading or in writing my own books.

Sweet romance and a second chance. Our two 35 year olds are a single Dad and a rich playboy. Gabe has led a privileged life but a lonely one. Nate and his daughter Lily, 5, are great, but Nate’s ex husband scarred his heart.
Gabe is back in the small town, plus he’s changed. Nate is mean to the old friend, but it is short-lived.
The cast of characters is terrific, the deep emotions are real, and the sexy times are mind-bowing and scorching hot. Lily is adorable, Gabe is so in need of acceptance and love, and Nate screws up, but redeems himself.
A smoothly flowing tale of old thoughts being replaced by true happiness.
    Enjoy !

Although a stand alone, Hard To Get can be appreciated more if you read Hard To Let Go first. This is another wonderful installment in Quinn's Havens Cove series. We met Gabe in the first book and now we are able to see him as something besides a dramatic, damaged man. His and Nates story builds slowly, realistically, with well timed entrances of other members of the community/family. They work toward their well deserved HEA as real people you might know, not fairy tale cartoon characters. Very well written, looking forward to Jonah's story.

    Spoiler alert:
The only reason for the 4 stars is that I was most disappointed in the living room scene when Nate goes looking for Gabe after their blow up. Owen, Brody and Jonah were at Owens home when Nate arrived. During the conversations, which had odd moments, Owen hit Brody several times to get him to talk. That is so totally wrong and out of context of what we learned of those men in the first book. After the way both Owen & Brody were traumatized as children, there is no way that either men, would hit each other, for any reason. Sure, men give loving shoves, pokes & nudges to each other. But actually hit each other, no way, especially not this couple! That one scene was a huge let down and I hope Quinn doesn't repeat this in future interactions between these men. Other than that it was a wonderful story.

    5 »Fingers-crossed-hopeful« stars from me <3

    It's hard to write a review to a sequel in a series – you always want to do better (at least I do). I knew since book one that there was sooo much more to Gabe then he lead everyone else to see. Even though he came on strong toward Nate it was still endearing in a way. He's that one friend that well all know and love that is just larger than life. I loved his ability to put everyone at ease even at his own expense. And when he stood up to his father by remembering the word Lily has said to him;
“I think a daddy would do that.” OMG I was done for.

Nate: The way he was fighting off Gabe can be described in one word – courageous. It was so much fun watching how Gabe started to grow on him. And when he took up Gabe's challenge and finally kissed him at the lake? Good God in heaven that was something else. I could feel his pain when he was trying to right the wrongs when they fought. The “Please take me back.” was like a kick to gut. I was a crying mess. I loved his mom and how much she wanted them to work. No great love story can begin or continue without the support of your family.

Yet another beautiful love story by Jaclyn Quinn . I'm still shocked that this is her second book. She writes these stories like a seasoned pro. I'm positive that she will be one of the best MM authors out there is a year or two. I LOVE HER BOOKS and I can not wait to read about Johan and his love match. <3

I read and enjoyed first in series but for some reason this one lingered in my TBR. After quite a few unsatisfying reads I pulled this out and so glad I did. First half was full of dynamic sexual tension. I love love love Gabe....his interactions with Lily were great and watching him reel Nate in was pure magic. Poor Nate was wound so tight and so hurt....It was equally magical watching him drop his guard.
I'm going on to Jonah's story now....so glad I picked this one back up.

I have to say, there is something about Jacyln Quinn's writing, stories and characters that just pull me in completely. I loved Gabe from the first book. His wit and style made me very curious about this man and his "relationship" tactics.

Well, let's just say, he is nothing like he seems. Honest, sweet and such a devoted friend he is indeed. But there was much more to this man than met the eye and I loved him all the more.

Enter Nate. My heavens, this was also a character who is not at all what he seemed in the first book. His pushback and protective nature was wonderfully developed. And his story is one that I honestly did not see coming. But work it did...and it certainly worked on our sweet Gabe.

As with book one, the dialogue for me feels so natural and the situations never feel contrived. Once again I was drawn into this setting, this cast of characters, their friendships and love for another. The friendship that has been formed between Gabe and Jonah is the perfect example. These two are wonderful together.

I eagerly await Jonah's story...he needs him something amazing and the shy ginger may be absolutely perfect. Can't wait!

Two men of different backgrounds, lost loves , broken too to no repair. One hot and playful ready to take challenge no matter what. The other hurt and a father trying to prove he can raise his child by himself. A meeting that will have you laughing and holding your breathe. Passion that will make you reread the whole chapter. This is great. Love the characters. BRODY AND OWEN. JONAH, VICKI LILYPOP, NATE AND GABE..... Thank you

5.0 out of 5 stars Loving this series+

This series continues to impress! The characters are well written and likeable, the storyline flows well with just enough grit to keep it interesting, and the alternating POV works perfectly to allow us to see both MCs work through their conflicting feelings, fears and demons as they grow closer to each other.

I loved that the characters from the previous book continue to play a huge role in this, and that we see their ever growing friendship. I particularly liked that Jonah saw Gabe for who he was and had his back when everyone else was worried about Gabe hurting Nate - Gabe definitely needed someone on his side and I'm glad it was Jonah.

The plot was well executed, and everything wrapped up nicely without being rushed. I thoroughly enjoyed the read, and can't wait to read Jonah's book next. A definitely recommend from me.

5.0 out of 5 stars routing for gabe!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 8, 2022
I loved gabe in the first book but getting a look into his real life was needed. He is a spoilt rich playboy on the outside, but on the inside he is such a generous, loyal sensitive man who has hidden behind his persona so he doesn’t get hurt again. Nate only sees his outer self at the start but soon regrets his first impressions. Their love story is sweet funny and heartbreaking. Gabe finally gets the family he’s always wanted..even if none of them are blood related.

I was looking forward to reading this book but sadly I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I was hoping it would be more fun than it was, Gabe came across as real feisty in the previous book and this book did initially start off that way, then completely lost his spark. Still readable just not one of my favourites.
