Hawk: A Dark MC Romance (A Dark & Dirty Sinners' MC Series Book 7) Kindle Edition
Amara
To the rest of the world, I'm broken.
Unfixable.
But when he looks at me, I know what he sees.
A woman, not a doll.
A fighter, not a victim.
A survivor.
Maybe, he sees underneath that.
Maybe, just maybe, he sees what I was always born to be—a predator.
They took my innocence from me. They stole my adolescence.
Now I'm going to reap upon them what they sowed in me.
Vengeance.
This woman hasn't just been scorned... but the hell I'll rain down upon them will look like child's play.
He's a Sinner, by nature and by vow, but will he take this journey into the depths of depravity with me?
Will his brothers?
Stick around for the ride—we'll find out if he's man enough for the job.
HAWK is the seventh book in the ten-book ‘A Dark & Dirty Sinners’ MC’ series.
It is not a standalone.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2021I do NOT consider these as stand-alone reads, as there are multiple reoccurring characters, overlapping timelines, and overarching themes. For all the stories, but especially this one, I HIGHLY advise these be read in the author’s recommended order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers because there are two different series interwoven together (Dark and Dirty Sinners’ MC and The Five Points’ Italian Mob series.
CAUTION: May contain spoilers if you have not read any of the previous stories in either series
⛔️ There are multiple warnings about subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some. If you have any sensitive topics, please read in its entirety.
Contains adult language, derogatory terms used to describe females (some males), steamy MF and MFM adult intimate scenes, and violence. Here are some of the areas / themes covered, which may be referenced or detailed within the story: dominance, submission, kidnapping, abduction, murder / assassination, torture, human trafficking, assault, drug distribution, money laundering, betrayal, rape, restraints, degradation, knife play, breath play, blood play, sadism, masochism, “bathroom” play, domestic violence, sexual abuse, mental abuse, physical abuse (some with a minor), etc.
** There are also themes of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, and suicide **
This is a darker themed, reverse harem story due to the characters’ history. It wasn’t clear in the beginning, at least to me, that this was a reverse harem. The timeline overlaps with the previous story. I have included a brief background for each character below.
Serena Akeroyd does an excellent job handling the sensitive themes of this story. I wasn’t concerned after reading previous stories with similar themes, but I didn’t expect the moments of levity, or the creative ways Amara finds to take back her control or embraces her courage.
There are some grammatical issues, but nothing difficult to interpret (I did not include those that were used by Amara’s character as that is part of the storyline). These were primarily incorrect word / tense choice, missing and extra inserted words. The most distracting part is the usage of phrases and/or terms not part of the American lexicon, although not as prevalent as in previous stories. I am trying to make sure I mention these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.
Here are the backgrounds and a brief recap on how the story begins:
Amara is one of the three females rescued from the Lancaster mens’ country shack. She was trafficked from the Ukraine and was near death when found. She has recovered physically for the most part, but not mentally. Amara does speak relatively good English, but hid it from the others for quite awhile. Another told the group about Amara being fascinated with Giulia, as she watches and studies her / others. Some believe that she is a lesbian or has romantic feelings for Giulia.
Quin is the younger brother of Nyx and Indiana. He was referenced here and there but not really included in scenes until later. He was a victim of the Sparrows when he refused to do their bidding and was sent to prison for something he didn’t do. Quin was still a juvenile at the time, but was tried as an adult and the Sparrows made sure he received a harsher sentence than he should have. Quin didn’t tell anyone about being set up until Nyx finally relented and visited him in prison to tell him about their sister. Then Nyx worked with their allies to get him a pardon. Quin was notified and was shivved by another prisoner before he could be released (his time in Rikers is more detailed in the previous story).
Hawk was introduced in the first story and has the most normal background. He has a sister named Giulia, a twin named North, and their father, Dog, was a patched member of the Sinners’ MC. Dog was abusive, so his mother moved him, North, and Giulia out West, where their Mother met someone and remarried. After her death, the three of them returned to the MC, Giulia met Nyx, North met Dog’s new wife, ran off with her and is now suspected of his death, and Hawk was a prospect that patched in the night the MC clubhouse was blown up.
This story begins after the clubhouse has been destroyed and construction has begun. Hawk works for the MC Enforcer, but floats to cover whatever job is needed. Currently that is a bouncer at their strip club. Amara is quiet and watches everyone, some more than others. She has taken up watching and waiting for Hawk to come in from the club, of which he is aware. One day she approaches him and they have a conversation on the front porch, which leads Hawk to make an offer he never expects her to take him up on. Then she surprises them both and accepts …
- Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2021This book was a nice find. I had forgotten that I have read many books related to the characters in this story. It’s a rough read though as the subject matter was still about helping the women that had been rescued from slavery. The main romance is about Hawk, a brother in the MC. He stood up for Amara when no one else would. Amara is sneaky but also smart and a survivor. She was buying time and learn things to decide which way to go know that she was free. Hawk was attracted to her beauty and her brokenness. Nyx and Guilia are part of the story. Nyx and Indya finally get their brother Quin back but he is seriously injured and is in the hospital. Rachel is working to help the women with visas and Tex is trying to find the elusive Sparrows and protect his MC family. It’s a wild ride but good storylines to bring the reader up-to-date. Read On!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2022I can't deny I got choked up and teary-eyed with some of the previous books but this one just pulled at my heartstrings a little harder. What Amara, Ghost, Tatana, and Sarah went through at the hands of Lily's family as well as the previous people who were abüsïng them is beyond heart-wrenching! It's so hard to read what they experienced and what they are left to overcome because of that. They were left beyond traumatized, they were left utterly broken. The girls as Tiff calls them are rescued by the Sinners, from cages in an abandoned cabin. When found Sarah is deceased in her cage and the other three women are on the brink of death. Had it not been for Amara somehow freeing herself from her cage and making noise as long as she could, the Sinners wouldve never found their hiding place. Once rescued they are taken to the Satan's Sinners compound and nursed back to health by Stone and Giulia. Amara is slow to trust at first especially the brothers, yet after all they went through at the hands of evil men and women, they are trying to find it within themselves to move on and overcome their trauma. She had kept to herself for months until she was given no choice when she had to move into Rachel and Rain's home with Rex, Nyx, Giulia, Hawk, Keira, and Cyan. Hawk finds her to be not only beautiful but interesting and he wants to help her to learn to trust and come out of her shell. They begin a physical relationship and they quickly start to feel for each other. One day Amara follows Rain who is following Cyan who left with a stranger. Together they rescue her and the MC sees her as a valuable asset. Then we have Hawk who everyone sees a grumpy guy, especially when his twin brother North up and leaves without a word. He shows Amara that she can be cherished and her body can not only give but receive pleasure. He shows her how she should be treated and shows us a different side of Hawk that wed never seen before. He is loving, caring, and puts Amara on a pedestal. He is the backbone that keeps her going and feeling safe. Then we meet Quin who is Nyx and Indy's baby brother. He's just been released from prison on fake charges, he is the opposite of Hawk in every way but he is also what Amara needs together the men keep her grounded. I would've really loved for it to have just been about Hawk and Amara and for Quin to find a different love interest but I guess it made perfect sense for them to all be in a triad when the author built the story around that. But either way I would've loved for it to have just been Hawk and Amara, especially since he's already had to share everything with his twin North all of his life. Then he has to keep sharing but with Quin this time. Either way I still liked the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful
This book was beautiful. I loved reading about Quin heritage (even if it was pretty superficial) and how his faith prepared him for Amara and Hawk. He's so cute that I want to hug him and keep him cocooned inside. And Hawk? He's so patient with Amara and Quin! Amara is also amazing and so, so strong.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soulmates
This is not your average couple. The three of them walk a hard path in life but their souls were always meant to find eachother. A beautifully written story with love, steam, comedy and fierce characters. Their emotional and physical progression with one another wasn't rushed or out of place, which I wondered as many throuple stories use a "hot dirty bedroom" perspective lacking any depth. This was so much more, and to me, the best book this author has written. I loved that it actually seemed realistic and even though it was more than 600 pages it felt just right.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love
I love this series and is one of my all-time fav MC series. Hawk is another fabulous one in this series. What was interesting is this was not just from Hawk's POV but you get a bit of several characters to further the ongoing storyline across the series.
Amara was so much more then I expected and she just might be my fav female character in this series. She has gone through hell and isn't going to sit back anymore. I loved to get to know Hawk more and I loved him. We have only seen bits of Quin but I seem to have a major soft spot for him and I just adore him after this book.
This series is just so excellent and I am so eager for the books coming up! Serena Akeroyd just keeps knocking them out of the park!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful story
Wonderful serie I can't wait to have more from! While some of the book bring back old ghosts and show worst of the world and those people surviving it, this is a book full of healing and love. None conventional relationship that brings peace and love to them.

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolutely must read heartbreaking but with a lot of love
I just can’t get enough off these hot sexy bikers Amara came to the MC after they had rescued her and her friends from a human sex trafficking ring after everything Amara has been through she is quite she try’s to hide in the shadows and watches people around her. That is until she has to share a house with Hawk and some off the others members of the MC.
The way Hawk looks at Amara changes when he walks into the kitchen to find Gillian posse trying to find out if she is a traitor. He know what she has been through and he is so patient with her and he wants to show her that with someone how respect her how much pleasure she could have. I absolutely love Hawks character he just wants to protect her and be there for her. Even though Amara struggles to come to terms with what happened to her she is becoming stronger and more confident in herself.
Serena Akeroyd you have written an amazing story while reading this book I cried my heart broke for Amara but I also laugh a bit this series is a must read I really recommend you read it as you won’t be disappointed
