    There is so much to love about this book. Before you read it, make sure you read the authors note at the beginning. The anxiety Desiree goes through sounds to unreal and far-fetched as you read the story, but if you read the authors note, you will see that it can indeed be that intense and life altering. How Desiree overcomes her anxiety is such an amazing story. How Tanner helps her and supports her makes you want to find your own white knight.

    The author did an amazing job telling this story, it is well written and has a personal touch that will almost break your heart. I just can't say enough, but I will say that I love this story.

    When a young man saves a lady in distress, literally, he knows that he has is drawn to her but Tanner Barron walks away. After the police arrive, Desiree Holt looks around for her “White Knight” but he was nowhere to be found and she didn’t even know her name. Tanner knows who Desiree is, he has watched her from afar since he was about 15, now at 18 he saved her from attackers but he walks off because he doesn’t have anything to offer her. He was drawn to her and she would always be his Dream Girl.

    Tanner moves from Austin, TX to work for the McCoy’s on Tebow Ranch. Tanner never really had a family before, so when the McCoy’s and others in the community made him part of theirs, he finally felt like he belong somewhere and that people cared about him. Tanner is also a part of the Search & Rescue Team that finds people that are lost no matter their location.

    Desiree becomes one of the biggest country stars and Tanner hears the song she wrote about him, “White Knight”, begging him meet up again. Tanner knows he can’t because he is a Ranch Hand and she is rich and famous and has traveled the world. Desiree was drawn to her White Knight when he saved her and was disappointed that he never tried to contact her in all these years.

    Now 10 years later:

    When Tanner’s Uncle Lin died he left him his Ranch called Lost Pines Ranch. There were even a few Cabins built that Tanner rents out. He built himself a beautiful home but he has been feeling lonely and restless lately.

    For a while now one of Desiree’s fans has been stalking her and progressively become more and more aggressive. In fact, the stalker almost kidnapped her, but she hit her head, fractured her skull and had emergency surgery. The anesthesia used during surgery flipped some kind of chemical switch in her brain. Now she has terrible anxiety, claustrophobia, paranoia and an inability to sleep. She is a mess.

    It was Christmas time and Desiree decided to get away from everyone and not even tell her agent where she’s going. Amazingly she finds a cute little Cabins to rent on Lost Pines Ranch. Yes, fate has a way of showing up when you least expect it.

    When they each realized that fate was finally on their side they both fought their attraction to each other. Tanner decides that he is going to help her with her problems and moves her into his home. What happens next is really good, but you will have to read the book to find out if Tanner can overcome his belief that he has nothing to offer her, and that Desiree will get over that she is almost 10 years older than her White Knight.

    Tanner has been in love with Desiree since he was 15, now he is 28. He has a small ranch with some cattle and three cabins he wants out. It is getting close to Christmas and he has one cabin rented to a lady. His neighbor handles the rentals for him so he has not met her.

    The first night he is standing outside and he hears crying, so he goes to investigate. He finds her laying on the porch in a lounge chair asleep and crying. He gently tries to wake her, but she freaks out. Then he recognizes Desiree. The next morning she feels guilty about freaking out so she goes to his cabin to apologize. They start talking and she tells him about not being able to sleep, not being able to stay indoors after dark and why. He suggests she sleep at his place. He has a glasses in porch with a fireplace and she won't be so cold and he would be near to protect her.

    She starts sleeping, they talk and find common things, they make love and fall in love (well, he'd always lived her). Many things happen concerning her stalker, but Tanner is always there to protect her.

    Tanner is ready to propose, but she has found out he is ten years younger than she is and she won't say yes, even though she doesn't know how she will live without him.

    A wonderful story of a long held love, ideas about age differences, and winning the lady.

    Another awesome installment in Sable Hunter's Hell Yeah! series. What I love most about her writing is she always has characters that have real life issues which makes her characters relateable. NONE of the characters she writes are what could be considered "perfect" like you find in some romance novels. In Head Over Spurs, the issue she covers is anxiety which I also suffer from. Like the heroine in the story, some days are better than others but you can't give up despite how overwhelming it may seem at the time. Another bonus to this story - you get little updates on some of the other characters from previous books.

He saves her from an attack,before she knows it he's gone. Years later another attack leaves our heroine suffering with anxiety and their paths cross again. (this reflects our author as she has suffered with similar things, read the foreward) They are perfect for each other but both don't think they are good enough. love wins of course in the end. Read it, read all of this authors books, I always one click, she never lets me down!

    The emotions in this book just blew me away. Both of the characters had obstacles to overcome and it was a pleasure to go through it with them. The ending was the best to read about their lives a year later, but the entire book was captivating and I couldn't put it down.
