Heart Ripper - Coffin Nails MC (gay motorcycle club romance) (Sex & Mayhem Book 9) Kindle Edition
--- You always want what you can’t have. ---
David. Catholic. Gay. Set on keeping his purity ring.
Raja. Biker. Manwhore. Never refuses a bet.
David has always tried to be the best son his parents could dream of. Always at church on Sunday. Always eager to help with the garden. Always trying his best at school. Prim, proper, innocent, and kind. But deep inside of him, there is a yearning planted by the devil himself, and when a cocky, foul-mouthed biker pulls him a step too far, David doesn’t fall into the abyss. He leaps.
Raja is all he’s ever dreamed of, yet didn’t dare voice. Older, dangerous, a wall of muscle with a grip so strong David can’t resist him no matter how hard he tries. As a freshly appointed president of a motorcycle club on the verge of ruin, Raja has a lot to live up to. Being gay doesn’t do him any favors in terms of commanding the respect of his men. He has his way of compensating though. Always first in a fight. Always bragging about his sexual conquests. Always up for a bet. Daring, tattooed, sexy, and unapologetic.
After he boasts he can have any man he wants, he gets challenged to hook up with the preppy guy wallflowering at a party. Raja can’t wait to pop the innocent cutie’s cherry. But when he finds out the guy is his friend’s younger brother, life gets a whole lot messier. Why is the one guy who should be off-limits always the most tempting?

About the author

K.A. Merikan is a duo of queer writers who don’t believe in following the well-trodden path. In their books you can dip your toe into dangerous romance with mafiosi, outlaw bikers and bad boys, all from the safety of your sofa. They love the weird and wonderful, stepping out of the box, and bending stereotypes both in life and in fiction. Their stories don’t shy away from exploring the darker side of M/M romance, and feature a variety of anti-heroes, rebels, misfits, and underdogs who go against the grain.
Be prepared for shocking twists, dark humor, raw emotions, and sizzling hot scenes.
K.A. Merikan also writes steamy M/M romcoms as Devon Doe.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2019There are many romance tropes that I find highly enjoyable, and the experienced, older Dom with an innocent, younger twink is definitely one of them. Raja is a new Coffin Nails MC President and Hunter’s best friend. David is Hunter’s younger and naïve brother who’s spreading his wings for the first time in his life. Raja’s pursuit and courtship of David was incredibly sweet to watch unfold. Their chemistry was strong and the sex scenes were hot.
Overall Rating: 5 Stars. The writing was lovely as I would expect from a K.A. Merikan book. The sex scenes were hot and kinky. It was an enjoyable story to read and I highly recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2023I didn't think I was going to enjoy this book honestly, it was a slow start, I struggled with David's characterisation at first, he is this very religious, pious virgin but he doesn't act like it, I will say it took till about 25% In to catch me but once it did I was completely hooked and could not stop reading. Raja and David are so sweet together.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2017** spoiler alert ** David has always been the perfect Catholic son he could be on the outside, but inside he feels insecure about his attraction to men. Raja is the president of his chapter of the Coffin Nails MC and finally openly gay. One bet changes both of their lives. When Raja is bet twice to attempt to get David to open up, neither expected to fall in love. After breaking David's heart, will Raja be able to prove that his feelings are true? Will inside forces be able to pull the two apart?
This story sucked me in from the start! You have two people who seems completely opposites, but honestly come from similar backgrounds and I loved how despite Raja's ruff and tumble appearance he was willing to help David work his way through things unlike what he went through. Loved seeing both sides of Raja and how David brought out the teddy bear side. David was sheltered, BUT when coming from that type of religious home is understandable. Great and hot book and will be going back and reading the rest of the series!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2023Oh my. Good Catholic boy learns that not all love is right or wrong. David tried to live a good life by following the rules not his heart but when he meets Raja, his brothers best friend all bets are off. Raja recently became Pres of his chapter of a Coffin Nails MC, he had slot to prove not only to his men but other chapters. One way not to get in bad graces is sleeping with his best friends brother but he couldn't help himself.
There was lots of drama and action in this book as well.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2017David's older brother, Hunter, got out of the house when he was younger and is in the Coffin Nails MC chapter of Detroit. David was invited to a party to welcome home Hunter and Asty's new baby and goes to see what a biker party looks like. David is shy, young and doesn't think he's gay (even though he likes to look at men). David grew up in a very conservative catholic home and thinks the thoughts he has about guys is a sin. So the first thing we see him do, is go down on Raja. Yeah, that's not gay at all... He tries to talk to one of the priests at his church about the feelings he's having and the priest tries to "comfort" him in an inappropriate manner.
Raja is the president of the Coffin Nails MC chapter in Toledo. I guess there was a patchover in an earlier book and the president and vice president were killed and Raja was voted in as the new president. Now, with only five members left, he needs to find a way to make money for his chapter to become independent from the Detroit chapter.
This is the only book I've read in this series and it was okay. I liked Raja's character but David was just too sweet and immature for me. I would think the president of a MC would need someone strong by his side and not a wet behind the ears cry baby.
Anyway, there is a lot of drama, action, sex and some violence in this book. The sex is hot and is very explicit and there is a HEA for Raja and David.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2017This was a vividly written biker romance which centers around David, who was brought up in a strict religious home, and Raja, the sexy biker. David struggles with self growth and learning to accept himself for who he truly is. Once he meets Raja his life is never boring. There is betrayal, action, and major hotness. The characters were well developed and very detailed. I enjoyed the biker aspect of the story, although, I was annoyed at Raja's constant boasting about his sexual conquests, or his need to do so even towards the end of the story. Ugh. Other than that I found this to be an absolutely enticing and provocative read. :)
- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2016Can't get enough of K.A. Merikan! Sometimes that Aussie/UK vernacular slips in, and while it bothers me with some authors, with these two, it makes me smile! I don't know why? Not sure if you need to read the whole series to enjoy this one, but it does help to connect with the characters, I think. Very graphic sex scenes in this, so if that's not your thing, stay away! (I hate when readers downgrade a book because of this reason!) This story is between Raja, president of the diminished Coffin Nails MC of Toledo, and David, brother to the son-in-law of the President of Detroit chapter of Coffin Nails (Priest). David comes from a very religious background and is questioning his sexuality. The story starts with a bang in the bathroom during a baby shower, and just picks up steam from there. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a steamy m/m romance!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2017Heart Ripper gave me chills, thrills, and a soft feeling in the pit of my stomach, along with some concern for the dangerous Raj and the sweet David.
Davis sweet, but he is guilt ridden with a type of Pre-Vatican II guilt that makes it hard to face. When the 'priest' comes on to him, it is disgusting. When Raj comes and takes David away, it is a pump your fist and scream yea!
The parents and the Church are painted a bit one sided, but hey, they both can be that way. I loved this book because it made me care. I will forgive anything in a book so long as it makes me care. While others may not find it violent enough, it pleased me and made me care. What more can a writer ask for?

5.0 out of 5 stars Délicieusement sexy

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book I've read in a long time
OMG! Best book I've read in a long time. Biker meets Catholic boy, to hot for words but I'll try lol.
Raja is the president of the Toledo chapter of the Coffin Nails who was bet that he couldn't have his way with the preppy looking kid who turns out to be David, Raja's friends little brother.
This book deals with coming out of the closet, and dealing with your own sexuality. Finding the true you, I always try to find meanings in books if there is one and this one to me has so many underlying meanings. It's also deals about learning to trust again and being comfortable with another human being and opening up your soul.
It's definitely a love story that is more meaningful than a heterosexual novel that I've ever read.

3.0 out of 5 stars part where the guy hides and denies his relationship by making fun of his boyfriend
3.5 stars
There were some elements that made me uncomfortable that I try to avoid in my pleasure reading (which this was meant to be). If not for that
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SPOILER ALERT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
part where the guy hides and denies his relationship by making fun of his boyfriend, I would have liked it a lot more. Yes, it was an essential part of the storyline, I understand that. I still didn't enjoy it. This is a personal preference and might not bother other readers, so otherwise, it was a very good read.
