Purchase options and add-ons
Elena Murphy is left devastated when her fated mate rejects their union. She believes Gabriel is embarrassed to be paired with a weak, half-breed vampire from Earth. But when two human children under her care are abducted by alien Slavers, Elena will do anything to get them back, even swallow her pride to beg Gabriel for help to rescue them.
Gabriel, an ancient Hunter from the planet Laizahlia, has spent thousands of years searching for his fated mate, his eillelé, the one who carries half his soul. He finally finds her in Elena, but she is also half human. If he claims her, his Council will force him to convert her fully to vampire, and he knows she might not survive with her mind intact. Rather than risk her life or sanity, he chooses to walk away . . . until two children under her care are taken by Slavers. Gabriel's Council and Slavers won't be the only dangers they face in their quest to find the missing children.
When Gabriel learns Djinn are involved, he knows their odds for success will be extremely low.

Editorial Reviews
Review
Every character had some sort of superpower which felt balanced and not overused. They were able to face their obstacles and even confuse the enemies for a while. I appreciated the odd, but well constructed, love story in this book. This novel combines a bittersweet love, a vampire story, and some fantastic characters that really carry this story. This is the fourth book in the 'Immortal Warriors' series but I didn't feel lost and I think anyone can jump into the series from here. You will love the conversations between characters as they are witty and humorous. The plot was epic and the entire story entertaining." -- Literary Titan

- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2019When I was offered the opportunity to read Heart of A Warrior by Denna Holm, I have to confess that I was somewhat ambivalent about it. I read only mysteries and thrillers. A fantasy book about space travel and vampires is never one I would normally have picked up. But I was told, “This woman is very good; you should give her a try.” So I did.
And now I’m obliged to say that, regardless of genre, if a writer is talented, understands plotting and characterisation, has a creative and inventive mind, and can spin a really good yarn, he or she will win the reader over and hold his attention until the book is read. In the case of Heart of a Warrior, Holm writes with confidence and authority. Her book is cleverly plotted and all its various strands are kept under tight control.
I didn’t think I would like Heart of a Warrior but once I started reading it, I warmed very quickly to the characters and began to care about what was happening to them. Leaving the fantasy element aside, this is ultimately an exciting thriller in which a small group of people face oppressive odds and risk combat with deadly foes to infiltrate dangerous territory in order to rescue some kidnapped children. Holm never loses sight of the importance of the suspense and excitement that such a quest must generate and she succeeds wonderfully. This is a delightfully engaging story and I thoroughly enjoyed it, rushing back to it every time I had to put it down.
I cannot speak authoritatively about this genre, but given Denna Holm’s obvious skills, the quality of her writing, the imagination that went into creating the extraordinary worlds in the book and the creatures that inhabit them, I would have to say that Holm is right up there with the best. So convincing are her characters, so vivid and realistic are her descriptions of the extra-terrestrial worlds in which they live, I couldn’t help but wonder if the author might have actually visited some of these planets. The details are so intricately described that it is almost impossible to believe that these places are not real.
I have not yet read the other books in the series but, given this writer’s talent, there can be no doubting that all of them, like this one, deserve a very wide readership. And if fantasy and sci-fi are your particular favourites, you will absolutely love this one. Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2021This series has a good twist on vampire and shape shifted lore . Elena at first I thought might be too weak for her hunter Gabriel but with the help of her friends and mate she was able to over come her fears. They of course win in the end . I found this book over long and I was easily side tracked to read other books as I struggled to finish this book. It became a much faster read when all the friends started there journey on the space ship. I haven't read the series in order so I suggest starting from the beginning of the series or you'll hit spoilers. There was know epilogue which is a disappointment to me .
- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2019Gabriel is an immortal warrior from the world of Lahzahlia. On a rescue mission to Earth he finally found his soulmate in Elena which I was lucky enough to have read about in the previous book. But with all that was entailed, he left her safe on Earth, keeping vigilant watch over her. Until her charges were kidnapped. An exciting storyline right up to the happy ever after ending, finally! Great addition to the series!

- Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2019This is the fourth book in a series but after reading it felt like a stand alone or the first in a series. I liked the character Elena but at times I found I was gritting my teeth with Gabriel. The author provided some world building and character development. Overall a good read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Twists throughout - Immortal Warriors 4
I thought the book had an interesting blurb, however that is only a small part of the plot. As you go deeper, the more complex it gets. A hunter - warrior will do anything to save his mate (even if he hasn't claimed her). His mate - I couldn't reconcile her background with her character's demeanour. A grandmother who looks like a very young lady with the outlook of a young woman. I'm not sure where the author was going with that but it did not work in my opinion. In saying that the storyline grew more complex with twists thrown in to keep you guessing and characters becoming more stronger which I loved. It kept me engaged, cheering for the good side and enjoying the manipulation of the villains. With the good side winning - for now. I am curious about the other races in the other series, to see how they do in the fight against evil.
