About the author

L. J. HARRIS is a mother, wife, introvert, and author. Her family is her life, and the very reason she gets out of bed every day. Coming a close second is her writing.
She found her passion for putting pen to paper in her later years, jotting down poems in birthday cards for family members, then publishing some online stories.
Approached by a publisher to contribute to an MM Romance Second Chances Anthology, it was then a spark was lit, and ever since, she's been unable to switch off the urge to share stories in both in the Gay Paranormal and Romance genres.
L. J. looks forward to continuing to share her love of the written word, and can be found at:

- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2013Loved it! All the feels that I've come to expect from M/M stories. I always find the emotions and relationships just have a much more realistic quality to them for some reason. I don't know why, but women just write a man's emotions so well. Or it could be they write the emotions the way women want them to be. Either way, I love the relationships.
This was a great short story. Really good characterizations, and a nice well paced flow to the story line. Not rushed to conclusion at all. All the pieces fit so well.
Heath and Zack are both in the moving forward phase of their lives after suffering bad prior relationships. Heath more so after coming to terms with who he really is and walking away from his life, family and job. Zack moves on by leaving his life behind in the States to live in Australia with his father, reconnecting after so many years apart.
These two have a brief but memorable encounter, meet again, and move forward in their relationship letting go of their pasts and choosing to live in the moment and what life brings them.
A heart warming, hugging myself feel good story.

Very sweet and uplifting short story. Heath’s journey to rediscover himself and rebuld his life was very moving and his finding his perfect match in the loving and supportive Zack was icing on the cake.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2013For a short story, LJ Harris certainly managed to pack in a lot of character development, and even managed to throw in a great secondary character in Greta. I adored both her MC's - Heath and Zack. The were written with such sensitivity that I wanted them both to be happy from the first page. The story is told in the first person, alternating between the two men which I enjoyed very much as it offered insights into them both. It also made their unfolding story feel all the more personal.
I hope to see more from LJ Harris as I like her writing style very much.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2018What a beautiful story from L.J. Harris. Once you start reading the story you will realize Heath and Zach were meant to be together. They may be different but so compatible!! They both felt real to me so it was easy to get caught up in the story and forget that you are not in real life.
This was an emotional, engaging sweet MM romance.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2017It's like, half the book is missing as we go from first date to six weeks later in one page. Then just get told what happens over those six weeks to a hea. There is a great story to start then the, author just suddenly stops a rushes the ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2020Great read, about being your authentic self, no matter what. Being lucky to find a friend who supports you. And realizing that you do deserve to be happy.
Again, GREAT read, made my heart happy.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2013Heath is in a hard place in life after leaving behind everything he had worked hard to achieve to start his life anew. In a chance meeting with Zach, Heath finds the reassurance that he made the right decision when he decided to embrace his sexuality. But with it comes doubts and hesitations about getting hurt and not being enough for the man he is so attracted to.
I loved this story! Both Heath and Zach were lovable characters I could easily see together. Their view in life was different but their attraction was overwhelming and couldn't be denied. From the moment they met their connection jumped off the page and it was a treat to see how the author brought it all around to give these two something new to look forward to.
I enjoyed their chemistry, their interactions and their honesty. Each had some demons to deal with but neither denied the connection that had brought them together. They embraced it, dealt with issues they were concerned with and came together at last.
All in all, a sweet romantic story with all the elements I have come to expect in the genre - great characters, amazing chemistry and range in emotion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short but sweet, a must read
Short but so sweet
When Heath changes his life, he changes it drastically. Almost to the point of no hope, but he finds himself and turns his previous hated, hectic life into his own simple and happy one.
A chance encounter with a gorgeous stranger makes his heart splutter and kick into life again, but he realises the chance of seeing again is just about zero.
Zack has moved to Australia from the US after a hurtful break-up, living with his father he isn't sure what to do with his life. For now he's kicking back and doing nothing. Driving his dad's sweet Mustang he sets eyes on Heath and knows he must see him again.
What yo get with this story is a warm glow and the desperate need to know more. I'm hoping to see a follow up from L.J with this, it has so much potential. Please, please, pretty please.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice easy read
This is a lovely heartbreaking story. Heath hasn't had the best of luck in his life until he meets Zack the American in a Mustang and his life is changed for the better

2.0 out of 5 stars DISAPPOINTED.. It NEEDED to be a longer book.
Disappointed.. When I saw the blurb of this being set in Aussie I grabbed it. Hmm I was loving this story up until about the 76% mark. The story line is a fast paced one but then it jumps weeks forward into the story towards the end (This should have been a longer book). The characters have hot chemistry at the start but it takes 5 weeks for them to make love. Scenes in the car lot with them wet from the rain after doesn't make sense (just too wearied). The book finishes early at 90%.
Health was looking for opportunities in the middle of traffic when he spots a red mustang. Washing windows wasn't the easiest job. Hot eye connection with an American voice before he drives away.
Zack arriving in Oz on a working holiday and also to visit his father he was set to start a new life. The mustang being his father's car out for a run.
