A Father-Daughter Story About Saving the World from an Evil, Sentient AI
Tia Violetta is about to turn 30. She lives in a mansion, barricaded away with her paranoid father, Haddon, who has shielded her from the world and her true heritage.
What Tia doesn’t know, is that a sinister, hidden AI, known as SIM, has enslaved humans on Earth through mass mind control.
And SIM is hunting her.
Hadden and Tia are descendants of Helio Tropez, a subterranean safe haven where all inhabitants possess supernatural abilities, and speak in the Matrix language.
Tia discovers she bears the mark of Pentada, along with four other women in her family that she never knew existed.
Together Pentada have can alter the course of humanity forever. Unless their psychic powers were to fall in the hands of SIM.
Just before Hadden dies, he sends a telepathic message to his younger self to time travel fifty years into the future to save Tia.
But by doing so, young Hadden starts a chain of events that will blow Tia’s world apart, sending them on two different timelines.
They must confront dangers in the subterranean and surface worlds to unite Pentada.
And only two possible outcomes await humanity. Will it be ascension to a higher density or complete annihilation of life on Earth?

I loved it! A hard sci-fi story involving time travel, a Matrix-like villain, and strong alien family support brings together one epic story! I couldn't put it down.

Very well-written, good plot with excellent characters. The author paints beautiful pictures with words with excellent dialogue that makes the characters come alive. It was hard to put this book down.

From the very first chapter, it had me enthralled. I also love the references to real situations which are damaging the human race as we know it. I'm looking forward to reading more books from this author.

The characters are wonderful, the story is compelling. Highly creative throughout with incredible insights on how to address present-day issues.

I love the way elements of consciousness are woven into Helio Tropez... the gem stones, the animal soul mates, having wings with higher levels of vibration, etc. And the fascinating power struggle between light and dark psychic energies in the world, feels so relatable given the global uprising that is underway today.

C.M. Rieger is a masterful writer who knows how to capture her reader's attention immediately, and then not let go. While this amazing science fiction novel has over 700 pages, it is still a very fast read. The characters go through a tremendous amount of development as the story unfolds. In order to step into their full power, they must work through some very deep-rooted issues.
They have to do this quickly, too. On the surface, much of what causes their issues is the same stuff that we deal with in our reality, but there is also lots to solve in the subterranean world. The AI invaders known as SIM have created subterfuge to manipulate people's thoughts, feelings, and actions. The conspiracy issues are very complex and will take a lot of work to unravel.
As I read, I kept thinking, "Hey wait a minute, could that really be happening to us?" I loved this component of the novel because there is a metaphysical aspect that makes "Helio Tropez," so much more than just a good read. Fans of science fiction/fantasy novels will enjoy this novel. Readers who are seeking something with more depth will be thrilled to step out of the mundane and into this world.

The deeper you go into this story, the more the characters unfold. CM Rieger's ability to reveal just enough to intrigue is amazing. The story draws you in with surprising twists and turns. Resolutions are hard won and beautifully human with all of the flaws and surprising, bright insights that lift us out of the ordinary. An attention grabber.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2022When you read a book you want to be carried away by a great story, characters worth caring about and some kind of transformation. Helio Tropez delivers all this plus much more. It’s a sci-fi, a thriller, and an analysis on the human condition. The author takes us on a personal journey from our fragile human perceptions to reveal a path for how much better we could all be if we actually could process our feelings and move beyond ego, fear and negativity. There are other dimensions awaiting these characters and the reader. A fully realized story that could have been 3 books… and it seems like there is more to come.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2022I overall really enjoyed this book!! The main character crosses multiple timelines trying to save humans of the natural world from the “SIMS” takeover of their pure soul and spirit. Some really awesome spirituality themes in here, making you think of meaning of life, modern day issues with technology, and how we all rediscover our spiritual freedom by sticking together. Here and there, some of the writing felt a little wooden or corny but not enough to dim the great pace, characters and meaningful storyline. Overall recommend!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2021FINALLY! A Sci Fi book that actually has momentum.
This story wastes no time in getting into the action. Following the story of a young woman with hidden powers and her father, who will cross multiple timelines to help her become the answer humanity needs, this book will leave your head spinning (in the best way).
If you enjoy a book with excitement layered on excitement, with just enough world and character building to get a strong picture and still have room for your own imagination, then this is the book for you. I haven’t been this engaged in a long time.
It has strong female characters, and explores complicated scientific concepts in an easy to understand way without breaking the tension in the story. And the best part is that I never knew what was going to happen next.
Rieger is on to something with this one.
I hope there’s a sequel because it’s already on my list.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2021It was rather complicated. But it seems that the book is trying to take our reality and twist it into a sci-fi reality by saying we are being mind controlled. The author has one character trying to convince another that, in spite of the fact we’ve been ‘programmed’ to believe we only have one life, we actually continue returning for multiple lives.
I understand the concept of world building, but this felt more like an attack on our true reality and our belief in God. I just didn’t like the story enough to put up with that any longer. Maybe it changes later. Probably becomes better, but I lost interest.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2021Helio Tropez is a real page turner. Allow some time when you pick up this novel as you will not be able to put it down. This sci-fi fantasy adventure will grab your attention as the fascinating characters develop and the compelling plot thickens. Interwoven in the story are metaphysical concepts, magical moments, Universal Truths and the challenge of darkness to Light. I highly recommend this book! [Advanced Reader]

- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2022I don't really know how I feel about this book. I think it will definitely only appeal to a specific audience, and I'm not sure I was it. It was a strange blend of technology, spiritualism, sci fi/fantasy and religious allegory. Instead of God, you have SANA. Instead of the devil and demons, you have SIM. Everything is quasi-technological because all of our feelings and how upbringing/cultural background impacts us are actually programs that direct our behavior and prevent us from being our best selves.
I got really confused trying to keep track and process the different program mindsets. And the book has A LOT going on. I can't list it all without going into things that would ruin elements of the book but it's A LOT. And that adds to the confusion.
I felt pretty separate from the characters for most of the book. I don't think they are particularly relatable, even though they are supposed to be relatable (at least the surface humans) and there's a big focus on character development because they are trying to ascend. I agreed with some of the premises of the book, but found others to either be overly archaic or simplistic or not practical.
Ultimately I think the book is both overly complicated and somehow overly simplistic. It's also very long and could have wrapped up much sooner. It took me about a third of the book before it caught me enough that I felt I could finish it. Most of post is a critique of it but it was still very well written and considers some unique ideas. As much as I don't think it's a book meant for me and its overly confusing, it will probably stay with me for a while and I'm more likely to remember it than some of the bubble gum fantasy I love. Which ultimately is to the book's credit because how many books stick with you in that way? But I don't think I would read it again.
I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the author.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2021This is one of the most original stories I have come across in a long time. I always love a good time travel adventure but the fact it included a profound spiritual message for our times, that blew me away. It truly exceeded my expectations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping, insightful and fun
I’ve read many inspiring theories of how human consciousness interacts with the world from a broad spectrum of visionary thinkers. So to have it all woven together in this gripping tale of evolutionary drama was sheer, spellbinding delight! Helio Tropez is a novel for our times – well done CM Rieger!

5.0 out of 5 stars A superb read of a brand new sci-fi / fantasy
Fantasy and Sci-fi are often well worn trails, and it's rare to find a story that's carving it's own path. Helio Tropez does just that, with an exciting time travel tale at it's core and a cleverly intertwined plot throughout. The author also shines a light on western society, challenging much of what we might take for granted and considering the world from a considered perspective in a playful and engaging way. This is a book for readers looking for a fresh take on Sci fi and fantasy, and for those looking for an adventure that explores time, conspiracy and controversy.
