A new and unexpected love... An ex with revenge on his mind...

Ben’s not in any hurry to fall in love. Sure…he misses the passion and the sweet caress of someone special in his life, but after freeing himself from his last mistake of a boyfriend, it’s time to reevaluate his choices. Until a gorgeous, fascinating guy slips into the seat beside him at a mutual friend’s wedding…then all thoughts of going slow vanish.

Adrian keeps the men in his life at arm’s length…it’s safer for everyone. Casual hookups without emotional entanglements are his specialty, and the guy sitting next to him looks to be perfect for the job. But as the evening progresses, a hot, steady flame of desire flares within him, and Adrian has to tamp down the sparks. Because Ben has the potential to become something different…something more.

When old secrets are revealed, Adrian and Ben must come together to heal past wounds, and that includes dealing with a dangerous ex who won’t take no for an answer. When threats to their personal and professional lives escalate into violence, they will have no choice but to take action to protect their newfound love.

Thompson presents a couple in New York City who meet at mutual friends' wedding. Ben the research analyst has just ended a manipulative relationship with Carl, and begins to fall for actor-model Adrian. Chapters are episodes in their lives, families and past history get explored. Real life intervenes. Thompson cleverly rounds the circle as she offers a beautiful HEA wedding.

A new MM book by Claire Thompson. This book is a little bit different then her other books since there are no BDSM elements.

It is a wonderful book and once I started reading I kept on reading until the book was finished.
It is the story of Ben and Adrian. What I loved most about the book was how it showed their relationship from the first glance and how it evolved over time. There is also an insight into their families and how each of them dealt with having a son who is gay. There are also secrets, doubts, temptations and exes to deal with.

    It shows a modern relationship.

Overall I enjoyed the writing but I kind of wanted more. The insta-lust and insta-love bothered me, as always.
We also get a super jealous ex boyfriend, who wants a second chance but was super aggressive in the past.
It was interesting to have his point of view here. So in this story we have 3 POV, some action, just a little angst and a very very sweet HEA!

Ben and Adrian are wonderful characters. They are well developed. Any angst is believable. Carl, the bad guy, is very bad. The writing is inconsistent, sometimes quite good, sometimes underdeveloped. The m/m shenanigans are written a lot like bodice rippers with "sweet cream" for a bodily fluid that isn't, or "long, thick" on a guy asleep. So, there's room for improvement, but the story was interesting. 3.5 stars

Ben just left a bad relationship and is not ready to start another. He does miss the intimacy of sleeping and cuddling with someone but decides it is time to evaluate his life. All that changes when an amazing young man sits next to him at a wedding. Adrian prefers to keep his relationship casual and avoid any kind of committment, but he finds himself drawn to Ben and soon the two are together constantly.

Each man has a past that would not as yet let them go. Ben's ex refuses to let him go and his actions become increasingly irrational and violent. Adrian's past is filled with pain and affects him still, preventing him from having healthy relationships. Each man brings some issues to the relationship but together they can work through everything.

He's Mine turned out to be an incredibly romantic book. Ben's and Adrian's love for each other was so strong they survived some heavy issues and it was together that they worked through them all. Ben's ex played psychological games but love kept Ben and Adrian from falling for his attempts at ruining their relationship. Adrian's past left him with nightmares that with Ben's help he finally worked through. The ending is incredible and will tug at your heart strings. He's Mine is the perfect book for all of us who adore MM Romance. Claire Thompson is on my auto buy list and will be on yours as well after reading He's Mine.

I am volunteering to leave a review of this ARC book. This is not a typical genre for me to read, but, Claire Thompson is such an exceptional writer, in my book, that I did read out of my typical genre. This book takes the reader on an emotional journey. Ben and Adrian's relationship, beginning from a wedding, has its ups and downs. Mostly ups. Love does help shoulder all things, good and bad. Toward the end of the book, I shed several tears. You will just have to read this book to find out if they were tears of joy, or tears of sadness.

An undeniable spark hits Ben and Adrian while at the wedding of mutual friends but they choose to become friends and get to know one another first - despite how very tempting it is to give in.
Their connection feels genuine to readers and brings out many emotions as they go from first meeting to friends, lovers, in love, and through to their satisfyingly HEA.
Both men have some angst in their lives - nasty ex, unaccepting family, career - but together their lives are so much better with laughs, understanding, steamy sexy times, support, and an authentic connection.

I would have enjoyed the book more if I didn't have to flick through so many sex scenes. There were just too many. It felt like the story was secondary.

However, if you love lots a sex in your books then this will be your next 5 star read.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice quick read

The main couple jump into things very quick. It's not the most interesting story I've read, the twists and turns kind of predictable, but still enjoyable.
