    This was a pretty good story. I liked both Logan and Brooke and their story was kind of predictable but still enjoyable. This is the first story I've read by this author but I do already have another of her books on my to read list. I liked this one well enough that I still plan to read the other story of hers.

    Brooke is a nice woman but she sees auras and believes in karma so people tend to see her as a bit of a kook. Brooke lost both her parents and now only has her best friend from childhood, Giselle, who works as a high end call girl. Brooke loves Giselle and doesn't judge her for her job even though Brooke would never consider doing it herself. Brooke hasn't had much luck with guys and her last boyfriend was a liar and a cheat so she's given up on men and is focusing on trying to get the money together for nursing school.

    Logan is a hockey player who isn't having good luck lately. He's been having bad luck on the ice and his attitude is just getting him thrown in the penalty box too much. He was recently hurt during a fight (in game) and is taking a week off to recoop before going back to the ice. Logan hasn't been having much luck with women either as his Ex left him for a woman and he hasn't found anyone since that seemed real and he could connect to.

    Brooke is staying with Giselle when the story begins and is working at a diner as a waitress to make money. She's getting ready to take her entrance exams for nursing school in a few weeks and needs to focus on studying for them. Giselle apparently has a regular customer in the owner of the hockey team, the Vipers. He asks her if she knows someone who could babysit Logan for a week. He tells Giselle it's just to make sure he doesn't end up drunk the whole week but whomever it is doesn't have to sleep with Logan, just be company. Giselle offers the chance to Brooke since it pays 100k and she knows Brooke could use the money for school and such (for me the amount seemed a little unbelievable but whatever...). Brooke isn't interested until she finds out sex isn't required and Logan wouldn't even know that she was being paid to be there. Brooke figures she can do that without messing up her karma to bad and looks forward to it as a chance to study and enjoy some fun and sun. When they fly out to the island it doesn't look good as they end up not speaking and it seems as though Logan isn't in a very good mood. Fortunately, the saying that the way to a man is through his stomach is true because the ice gets broken when Brooke makes them both some food and they end up talking and realizing that they get along. Soon Logan is showing interest in Brooke in more than just a friendly way and Brooke likes it but doesn't want anything physical between them because she's being paid to be there.

    Things come to a head pretty quickly because there's a strong attraction between them and Logan is very interested in exploring things further. Brooke tries to push him away but wants him in return. She freaks a bit until she just decides that she'll refuse the money for the trip so she can indulge in her time with Logan guilt free. It means things will be harder for her in the long run (with not having the money for school) but it's the only way she feels alright about it. Once Brooke gives in to Logan's advances, they steam things up pretty well and find that they're kind of perfect for each other. They get closer as they spend more time together and Logan starts talking about wanting to see Brooke after they leave the island. Brooke doesn't think he's serious but is happy when he convinces he that he is. The main problem is the whole money thing hanging over their heads and I really felt that Brooke should have told him the truth sooner than she had planned. Logan and Brooke develop true feeling for each other but because of the money issue, things go a bit wonky for them. There's drama and some heartbreak and things don't look good for our couple but fortunately, Logan finds out the truth and makes things right with Brooke and they end the story starting their HEA together.

    This was an enjoyable story. I really liked Brooke and Logan together and liked the story. My main issue with the story is that I saw the money issue coming to bite them in the butt from the start and Brooke should have realized it but she didn't think about things and head off an issue before it became an issue. Outside of that part, the story was very enjoyable and I liked reading it. I'd recommend this story. :)

    Okay I love erotic romances I'm addicted to them hell that's why my name is addicted to romance! Logan and Brooke had some serious chemistry and the way their romance started was classic... The bad boy who had a shield of steel at first cause he was grumpy.. The good girl who was orphaned and trying to help out her best friend/sister and go on vacation to make sure the bad boy hot athlete doesn't go crazy.. Well they clash and meet and sparks fly.. They fly a little too fast with the whole falling in love in what less than a week?! I could understand them saying they feel the connection and all but in love? What was CRAZY was the twist of the story.. How things came out and what happens... Logan almost went to the point of no return with Brooke and I was even pissed at him and was like nope not happening bro! Lol.. All in all it was a good read.. I got it for free so I won't complain! Enjoy...

    I loved Hired. Loved Brooke. Loved Logan. Loved the length of the book, their love story, the sex scenes, the way they cared about each other.

    What I didn't love? It's my common issue with language. I have a hard time accepting American characters who use British English. If you can overlook that, you will love this book, as well.

    Brooke is a single gal who could use some cash to put herself through nursing school. Logan is a pro hockey player who's been suspended for his over-violent ice play. Logan's boss hires Brooke as a companion--non-sexual--to pseudo-babysit Logan for a few days at a luxury retreat in the Caribbean. Logan doesn't know he's under surveillance, but he's enchanted by the unassuming nature of the girl sharing his boss' villa. They strike up a tentative friendship, which quickly turns into a fiery passion.

    In her heart, Brooke knows she can't sleep with Logan, while taking money for being his companion, so she decides to refuse the cash. A hundred thousand dollars. Girl, she's crazy in lust/love.

    The two of them are such a cute couple. And it looks like it will end HEA-style, until Logan learns of the money Brooke had been offered. He calls her a whore, and walks out of her life. Heartbroken and destitute again, Brooke soldiers on as a waitress, sans Logan. Good thing he comes to his senses!

    I got this one b/c I loved Scored. I wasn't disappointed, though as I mentioned, the Brit-isms were a bit distracting.
