Hitting to Win (Over the Fence Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 357 ratings

After a lifetime of neglect and sorrow, Miles Farriston has hit rock bottom after his lying ex-girlfriend proves that no one in his life sticks around. On the outs with his friends, in jeopardy of losing his baseball career and this close to getting kicked out of Kappa Eta Sigma, Miles is forced to compete in the Greek Life dance competition. What he didn't bank on was getting bright, cheery Chloe Trabucco as a partner.

Ballet, friends and her sorority. The only three things Chloe Trabucco wants to focus on and excel at. So when she is asked to compete, as a freshman, in the popular Greek dance competition, she couldn't be happier. That is, until she learns Miles is her partner. The same Miles she's had a huge crush on for half of her life, and the same guy who made it clear more than a year ago that he wants nothing to do with her.

Her positivity and patience annoy him. His attitude and anger finally drive her to the breaking point. Can they hit a home run, both on and off the dance floor, or will they go down swinging?

Review

"So addictive was this story, I think from the time I opened this book until the end, a mere 24 hours had passed with little to now sleep in between!" -Next Book Review

"I thought it was going to be hard to top Minka & Owen's love story. Carrie has not only done it but somehow made me fall in love with Miles. I loved Miles redemption story and how Chloe no matter what believes the best in people. Great book, devoured it in a day!" -
Sweet & Spicy Reads
"I was so excited and intrigued with that
first page. I love that feeling when you are instantly drawn into the story!...Great showing not telling with a level of artistry that shocked me in its clarity and simplicity...Her sex scenes are liquid lava that had me wanting to reach into my "special" drawer...I think Hitting to Win has a chance at becoming a best seller." -Kali Cross, Author of the Fighting Love series
"I think Carrie Aarons did a phenomenal job in writing a story that was different but fit the needs of the characters."
-Moon Love

"Aarons does a fantastic job at carving Miles' character out from the stress and pain so that even while you cringe at his harsh words, you also hurt a bit more for him. I was relieved to see that she also continued to mark her characters with the maturity that I noted and loved in her first book. This book gives us more heat and chemistry than I was expecting and I ended up enjoying this book even more than the first. I'm going to give this one 4 stars!" -

Two athletes working hard towards their individual goals and chasing their dreams of becoming professionals at what they love. She's a ballerina and he's a star baseball player at their college. These two characters have history and a lot of obstacles to overcome in order to have a chance at a happily ever after. This book is the second in a series but could be read as a standalone. I can't wait to start reading the next book!

I love the sport of Baseball so any book that involves baseball is a must read for me. It was refreshing to see that the author did their homework and had the phrases, plays and players correct, often times this isn't the case. I enjoyed the characters, their development throughout the book and the plot. This is the second book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone book. Characters from the previous book are mentioned, but the reader can catch on quick!

I mean could Miles be any more cuter if he tried. This was the perfect follow up book. Chloe was always going to have fight for her man, and she did it with out batting an eye lash....most of the time. I loved that she never gave up on him, but when she had no choice Miles stepped up and won her back. Love this series so far.

Holy hotness. I'm not sure if I like broody Miles or happy go lucky Miles better. He is sex on a stick. Yummy. This book is amazing. The first one in the series was great but I think this one beat it. Love it. A must read.

Carrie has done it again. This time with Miles and Chloe. We met them in book one but this is their story from start to finish. We get some background, a little bit of angst, a dash of humor here and there, and some sexy fun times.

5.0 out of 5 stars ... Hitting to Win when it flashed up in my recommended list from Amazon
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 27, 2015

I am a huge sports romance fan so I was really intrigued about Hitting to Win when it flashed up in my recommended list from Amazon. There was something in the synopsis that seemed to lure me in and grab my attention but I don't think I realised just how much this book was going to capture my imagination, heart and mind in the process. I think, from the time I opened Carrie Aaron's book until the end, a mere twenty four hours had passed with little to now sleep in between, so addictive was this story. There is something so eloquent and romantic in a tale about a troubled and lost hero and a light sweet, optimistic heroine that tries to pull him out of his self enforced darkness and with Hitting to Win that is exactly what we got just with innumerable layers and depths to the whole plot. It's very much character driven but when your hero is a baseball star in the making with an incredibly disturbing home-life and dismal outlook on life in general and your heroine is beyond intelligent but has so much compassion and loyalty to those around her, you're guaranteed to have one phenomenal book on your hands.
Miles is foul in the beginning, his dark mood spreads around him like a barrier, keeping people away and generally causing mayhem and an abundance of hurt in its wake. Most poignantly is how it affects Chloe. The dynamic between these two is nothing short of wondrous. It's electric, like two opposing forces sparking off each other causing an insane amount of sexual tension that explodes and tears up the pages as well as the sheets. There were times when Miles certainly needed a hard b****h slap into reality but what was refreshing to read, was that Chloe, although such a charming and sweet soul, knew when enough was enough and she was able to show tremendous backbone and integrity within the situations she found herself in when Miles was looking for someone to take his frustrations out on. The old saying that there's a fine line between love and hate definitely comes into play within this book but it's when Miles finally steps up to the plate and realises just how much light and freedom Chloe brings to his soul and heart that he deserves to wear the mantle of 'hero' like none other. Hitting to Win is written with such passion and emotion that it shines through each chapter enabling you as the reader to become involved in everything that is happening, the good, the bad and the oh so sexy and romantic not to mention the oh so dirty and naughty.

'Chloe stand on the front porch, a white pea coat wrapped around her, snow falling lightly in the background. Her black mane cascades around her shoulders, snowflakes catching her on her long, black eyelashes. I suddenly can't breathe. She makes me feel like my lungs are collapsing in my chest.
    "You look...you're so...Jesus, you're perfect."'

5.0 out of 5 stars Her heart!

Chloe has been crushing on Miles for a long time. On a Ferris wheel ride, Miles savages her with words that wound her. Avoiding each other isn't easy as their best friends are in love. When they are partnered for a dance competition, they see each other differently and the chemistry between them ignites! What happens when Miles steps out of his childhood and takes control? What happens when both realise they deserve more? This book was addictive and I just couldn't put it down!
