About the author

Zack brooks is a new writer who likes to dabble in the fantasy world. He deals in the generic fantasy realm, but also dips his toes in the world of urban fantasy. With his main series being the Trials of Amaford, it becomes clear that sarcasm could be considered his first language.
Outside of writing, Zack is a husband and a father of three. All whom he lives to embarrass at every opportunity. Being a nerd and a homebody in New Hampshire it's no wonder he has chosen to spend what little free time he has clicking away and filling in those blank pages that scream to be filled.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2019How Not To Be A Scribe is a completely different animal compared to How Not To Be A Scribe. And that's a good thing! Here we are introduced to Roland, that halfling He's taken a job as an apprentice scribe in the bustling city of Amaford, a long ways from his quiet countryside home.
Zack Brooks' sharp wit is still in tact, and he has a way with bringing us memorable characters. The world always seems alive and bustling. Each character we meet contributes to the story at hand, and it seems like some characters will become important later on should Brooks continue this wonderful series.
And I hope Brooks continues to build with each new entry. These first two tales of Amaford are self contained journeys of self-discovery that leave us hanging for a larger story. I feel we are just getting our first peeks at the world of Amaford as a whole...and there's a big world out there full of magic and adventure just waiting for us.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2019After enjoying the first book I was highly anticipating the releasing of this novella. It not only delivered on my expectations, but exceeded them. The story is a little bit different from the first book. The main character is more intellectual and timid, and there's much more world-building, but they make for a phenomenal combination. Once again I'm anticipating the next installment.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2019Another fun adventure in Amaford, this time following Roland, a halfling running from his past and hoping for a fresh start. The story moves quickly, and the author expands more upon the city, a place filled with mystery and a cast of interesting and unique characters. A worthy read!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2019So much different then Jimmy the rogue, but just as fantastic! This book is mysterious and fast paced. I enjoyed the characters and the cameo of Jim. My mind is blown, the only question I have is when is the next book coming? Loved it!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2019I really enjoyed this story, part of a fantasy set that started with How Not to be a Rogue. Scribe is exciting and endearing at the same time. Roland is such a lovable character, he tries so hard to fit in the world of full-size people. Good plotting, nice scene-setting and dialogue. Five stars from me!
