Storm of Souls: A Progression Sci-Fi Adventure (Heirs of Sun and Storm Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 114 ratings

Wang Fan will bring forth the storm of souls, or die trying.

Once a simple detective, Wang's world changed forever when he learned of Sinotech's evil plan to sacrifice humanity for the sake of a few elites. But now that the Naturalism Sect has the Sun's Blood, they have a chance to end their foe’s tyranny. It all depends on a simple mission in the First Heaven, the foundation and heart of the Grand Kingdom.

But plans rarely go as intended.

Chaos ensues as demon spawns gather, plots within plots boil over, and the Black Corpses are sent to hunt any who oppose Sinotech. Having no other option, Wang and his former adversary, Itsuki Saito, are forced to brave the unknown, the world beyond the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths. Only there, in the mythical wilds may they find the means to defeat Sinotech.
The Grand Kingdom is slowly awakening. But will it be too late?

Great sequel to book 1! The characters feel human and it's great to see their development. Although, a couple parts made me cry because of that. I highly recommend picking this series up for a fun read!

Compelling progression fantasy Xianxia That integrates cyberpunk tropes in a way that sells the vibe and keeps my interest. Solid work, look forward to more improvement from author and protagonist both in the future.

I've read quite a few Chinese cultivation type novels, and this one stands heads and shoulders above in terms of creativity and readability! Fantastic story arc and characters. Greatly looking forward to the next book :-)

Storm of Souls is an excellent sequel to Sun's Blood and definitely worth the read. My favorite part of these books so far has been the characterization; these are compelling characters that have real depth. Wang Fan and Itsuki being particular stand outs in the story. The action and drama are even more intense this time around and I am looking forward to book 3.
