Definitely a Home Run
Waking up with a lingering memory of a sexy redhead and them in bed together is haunting Green. Did it happen? Or is it a fantasy. That's what is lingering in Green's mind. It's so vivid it's all he's dreaming about. With his baseball career coming to an end, Green knows some changes are coming his way. He's tired of being on the road all the time plus his shoulder injury is not getting better. He thinks maybe it's time to settle down and make the move to Mason with his son. If only he could get the images out of his head that is. Kage hasn't had the best life, being brought up in the foster system has made her what she is today. The horror is an ever-present memory. She and her foster brother Russ are everything to each other. He's her priority. The things she's done to take care of him and ensure he has everything he needs is not something she's proud of but when it comes to Russ she doesn't think twice. What she didn't plan was to hook-up with Green. That one night she spent with him was incredible. What wasn't was the morning after. Waking up to a stranger telling her to get up and out of the room was embarrassing and she just wants to get away and forget. When an opportunity presents itself to get back at Green she doesn't hesitate. He screwed her over now it's payback. Green is living a nightmare, that's all he can think after the second disaster of date his mother Ida Sue set him up with (I LOVE IDA SUE) when he thinks it can't get any worse it does. Seeing his chance to escape his date he does not looking back. But running into the woman outside the restaurant is not part of the plan. There's something about her he can't put his name on. Something familiar about her but he can't hang around he's running from a potential nutcase. Fast forward, we find our Green, White his brother and Mother Ida Sue together at a little no name diner. He's not impressed with either of them after finding out his mother had set up a profile for him on a dating site with his brother White being blackmailed by Ida Sue, he had no choice but to be involved. (This family is hilarious) anyway it's here it all starts to take place. The diner is the same one that Kage works at. The same one she just lost her job in and the same one that Ida Sue heard everything the manager said to Kage. With one look Ida knew there was something about Kage that reminded her of herself. With her usual take charge attitude Ida offers Kage a new start, a job and a home for her and Russ. Kage is wary because come on no one does what this woman has just offered. She's been let down so many times she's scared to hope that this could be real. But with her circumstances going nowhere she decides to take a chance on this new life. What neither Green or Kage expected was each other or the possibility that they would meet again in the most unlikely of scenarios, but it works, and it works well. Green is going to have his work cut out for him, but it will be worth it. Kage will have to open her heart and her mind to this new family that has opened their home to her and when she finally realizes that this is what forever feels like she'll take it. From here it's non-stop. The laughter Jordan delivers is a non-stop ride. With characters you are invested in and a story that just seems to get better with each page turned you'll find yourself suffering a massive book hangover but one that will be worth it.

Green House Lucas, yes the the poor guy has House as his middle name, and Kage Bentley meet one night, have a passion-filled experience then he goes off in the morning to never remember her again... or so he thought.

Green is not quite what you think him to be from the beginning, he certainly gets a bad reputation but really it’s unfounded. I really liked him, although he did have to almost be hit over the head with the realisation that Kage wasn’t a bad person.

Kage I liked immediately and felt empathetic toward her straight away. For someone so young to be that burdened by life was heartbreaking but she pulled on her inner strength and kept going. The love she had for her foster brother was remarkable. Together Kage and Green worked, they had amazing chemistry and even though there was a big age gap Kage wasn’t your everyday normal twenty year old girl, she had to grow up quickly or as Ida Sue said, she was an ‘old soul’.

As always, it was a delight reading about Ida Sue, she is always a crack up! She has all of her grown children wrapped around her finger too. Poor Green so desperately wanted to tell Ida Sue she was basically nuts but as he said-“I’m never too old for my mother to smack the fear of Jesus into me if it’s needed.” 😆 The humour throughout the book is, as always, fantastic, whether it is fun banter between the characters, laugh out loud expressions or hilarious situations in scenes.

Of course there are serious elements to the story and they are woven into the storyline beautifully. I am forever in awe of the amazing talent of this brilliant author who can write so many different genres. I totally recommend this but if you haven’t read the other books in the series then you are missing out big time!

I can never buy and read a book by this author fast enough...and especially a Lucas Brothers book...This family is just the best...And we always get more of Ida Sue, which is ALWAYS, ALWAYS a good thing.....This author’s sense of humor is so on point...I always think Ida Sue may actually be Jordan Marie....♥️🌼🔥
So, Green House Lucas....you gotta love Ida Sue’s (Jordan’s) name choices....Green is a divorced, single father and MLB player coming to the end of his career due to age and injuries with a teenage son and a clingy addict for an ex.....We all know Ida Sue is not a passive mother, so, she sets Green up on a dating site, and starts setting him up with dates...He’s told they are “friends of friends”....While he is making a hasty retreat from a date with “Bob Marley” he is unknowingly pickpocketed....and doesn’t figure out how until later....♥️🌼🔥
Nineteen year old Kage has been kicked in the teeth by life....She is raising her 14 year old diabetic, wheel-chair bound, foster brother outside of the scope of CPS, and she is working herself to death to supply his physical and medical needs....Because her waitress job doesn’t pay enough, she and Russ have to, occasionally, run cons on unsuspecting people....and Green Lucas is the last con she runs....♥️🌼🔥
Kage already knows Green Lucas.....But Green was so drunk the night he took Kage’s virginity, he only remembers bits and pieces...plus he had his manager kick her out the next day....so Kage doesn’t have warm and fuzzies for Green to begin with.......When Ida Sue overhears Kage’s boss at the diner firing Kage, Ida Sue takes Kage and Russ home with her... (not knowing Kage picked Green’s pocket)....When Green sees Kage working in his family’s restaurant, all h#ll breaks loose....and it is fantastic....♥️🌼🔥
HOME RUN is EXACTLY what we’ve come to expect from Jordan Marie...Great characters, with lots of chemistry...both primary and secondary....Great Story....Lots of Humor...Lots of Heat....A bit of angst.....and an HEA.....Sometimes, I feel like I take Jordan Marie’s books for granted...I’m never shocked at how freaking good they are.....♥️🌼🔥

I was really excited to read this. I have really enjoyed the Lucas family series. But there were some issues with this one.
    1) Editing. There were a lot of editing mistakes that were pretty distracting.
2.) Responsibility. I get what Green did was crappy at the beginning but I don't feel Kage took nearly enough responsibility for the fact that Green ended up IN JAIL because of her. I get what she was trying to do, and while admirable, it doesn't change the fact that she was also very wrong g in her behavior. And especially knowing Green wasnt even in his right mind it just makes it seem kinda crummy that he gets all the slight.
3.) It didn't feel right that everyone automatically took Kage's side over Green on EVERYTHING. That is low blow. He deserved his family's support too and it felt very one-sided against him.
Now on to the good things!
    1) Love this wack-a-doo family!
    2) Love the pet names! "Baby" is a big hot deal to me so I love it's use here!
    2) Love the backstory of Kage and Russ and getting their final happy life!
    3) Loved the blind dates! Those were a hoot.
    4) Makes me excited to read the next ones! I really want Blue and Meadow's story!
    5) Loved to alpha aspect. I really enjoyed how much Green really wanted to be so alpha a protective of here. I could envision it well and it was great!

Wish I could give this more than five stars. The characters are so well developed and they had me laughing out loud so many times that I had to wipe tears away. (Even got some weird looks off family too lol) It had everything you could want, steam, romance, humour, sexy moments, hilarious moments and plenty of drama. I couldn’t put this book down. I just didn’t want this book to end. Beautifully written, sexy, sweet, funny and ultimately perfect!! It was like watching a rom-com film and I couldn’t wait for the next book to come out. My favourite series ever by Jordan Marie and one of my all time favourite series I’ve ever read too. Don’t wait. This book rocks! So one click now!! Happy reading everyone!!

I love the Lucas brothers and sisters and Ida Sue and their antics. This family is perfectly perfect with all their faults.
I came to love all the Lucas brothers from the previous books but I gotta admit in this book it took me a while to like Green . He was an a.hole understandably so but an a.hole non the less. But then he changed my mind and we got to see the sweet Green that we were meant to see. I loved Kage and felt for her and her brother. And Oh My the ending that had me in tears. Love it

I love this series. Always have. Always will. I needed something easy and light to read and while this isn't always the lightest, Ida Sue brings the kind of chuckles someone deep in a book slump could ask for. This is a standalone but I'd be remiss if I didn't rec this series as a whole. It's small town, big family hilarity. Can't miss.
