Well Kennedy it's been a while this is my second time reading this series and my first leaving a review what a great evening Keenan and Lotus will the perfect characters for you to end the series with love them the buy play Everything and also the Song of Solomon what oh that's all I can say I love that they embody that and took certain elements from it and put it into their real lives it was great seeing all the other characters I can't wait to read some of your other books and keep on writing.

    Wow this was pretty fantastically written and just all around good stuff I didn't expect any less from Kennedy Ryan. This sports series of hers is gritty and meaty so good. It's one I look forward to, Lotus and Kenan didn't disappoint. Hook Shot was that game winning shot. I'm still in awe of how it all pieced together.

    One summer in New York their paths finally cross. There was always something about Lotus and Kenan before that sparked but nothing really happened. Here now something could but then timing of Lotus swearing off all sex and intimacy but Kenan finally takes his shot even if it's friendly. Cautiously they move forward to little things.

    Both of them are at different places in their lives but for some reason they get along. Lotus has her past hurts weighing in her and I admired that she had the initiative to to something about it. She knows she's not ready for more so timing wasn't right. Kenan got burned bad by his ex and developed trust issues, becoming more closed off. He's now doing everything daughter's welfare and trying to make the best of his career. They weren't ready to start something and they both acknowledged that, so they started of as friends even with the sizzling sexual tension and attraction between them. But the whole swoony bits of finding that and All the not really date dates and everything in between. watching them fall slowly was wonderful. I got giddy and smiley when the usually grumpy Kenan becomes so amiable around Lotus.

    Layered, strong and kind heroine with vulnerability and hero who had his own issues with trust but an amazing father. Lotus and Kenan were in a word complicated but also how they built their relationship was beautiful. Kenan was qn amazing dad and solid guy. I have to mention, the author already placed a sensitivity warning, more explicitly childhood sexual trauma. It played into how they unfolded so I had to mention.

    Celebrity athletes or not private life can become public life and we all know how the press end media can take it too far. I like that Kenan wants none of that and stands for things kept down low. Lotus knows that too keeping their relationship their business and I think that's important. I really like that the author knows her basketball and the other stuff that comes with it. This book had a terrific slow burn that I enjoyed, it was truly sizzling and spicy. Plus all the feels! Another memorable book from Kennedy Ryan, superb writing and it's very much engrossing and thoughtful. It was more than just Kenan's story, Lotus' journey to self-discovery, poignant, healing and an epic love story. It's truly an unforgettable one that's a definite top read.

    You know when you come across a book or an author who writes romance real and uses real dialogue along with a fantastic gift of storytelling? No? Well then, you haven't read Kennedy Ryan yet. I've adored and have run through every dang emotion in this Hoops series and this book was no different. You do NOT need to read any other book in this series as they are all standalones, but I can guarantee you will fall in love with each and every character and you'll want to experience each of their stories they have to tell.

    When I first got a taste of Lotus, I knew she was someone I wanted to know more about. She is magic. She has a spirit about her that literally jumps off the pages and makes you want to be her BFF. And Kenan? Man, he's the silent type that has been through some serious stuff and I knew there was more to him. Of course, Kennedy proved me right and gave me a story set in the basketball and fashion world that was not like any other. The intensity, the slow build, the characters and their connection to one another as well as to their family and friends is what sets this story apart.

    I want to give you more of the story and I want to give you quotes from these two deliciously fierce and beautiful characters, but I also want you to go on the journey I got to. I want you to experience a single father that is trying to do good by his daughter. I want you to see him fall for someone that isn't looking for it. I want you to experience Lotus and the way she wants more out of life and is trying to fight demons from her past. I want you to see the banter and friendship these two have and build on. I want you to see the sacrifices these two make. It's sexy. It's tough. It's fun. It's heartbreaking and it's a part of being an adult.     This book is another masterpiece by Kennedy Ryan that left me breathless, emotional, in awe and with so many other feelings! She truly understands how to cast a spell on her readers and make them feel it all and then some.

    Lotus and Kenan are both burned by their past. Trust definitely doesn’t come easy for them. Yet they have a chemistry, there’s that pull, right from the beginning, they can’t deny. While Lotus tries her best to stay away, Kenan takes the first opportunity that jumps at him to make a move.
    From there on out, this story is about building trust, about finding your one person, your soul, the missing piece of your heart. Although there’s some really hot stuff happening, the talking, the getting to know, the acceptance and patience of them both made me fall so hard for them.

    Kennedy Ryan has the talent to take you through Brooklyn right beside them both, seeing what they see, feeling what they feel. This slow burn is so awesome to read. It lures you in and doesn’t let you go. You are hurting with the characters like it would be you in the situation. And if you have read Kennedy Ryan before, you know she’s tackling stuff that’s far from easy, that makes you cry so badly and angry on behalf of the characters. This is no different. She could leave the ugly parts out, but it’s part of the character’s story and it’s their journey to the person they are now. It has to be told. But you can also be sure that they come out stronger.

    Hook Shot is the perfect mix of basketball and fashion, love and hate, strong and vulnerable, happy and sad, laughing and crying. On top of it the writing is outstanding! This whole series is so amazing, I wouldn’t be able to pick a favorite or any of Kennedy Ryan’s books. This totally can be read as a standalone.
    I can only highly recommend it as it’s one of my favorite books in 2019 and definitely goes on the list of all time favorite reads.

    I read my first Kennedy Ryan Romance three years ago and in a sea of romance stories, hers was a standout for all the right reasons.     Hook Shot is a romance novel set in the world of professional basketball and high fashion. It's a part of the Hoops series so, of course, past characters of the series have a place in this book but despite that, Hook Shot stands tall as a standalone and can most definitely be read in isolation. Richly textured with thoughtful storytelling and a luxurious narrative, Hook Shot vividly tells a unique and charismatic story.

    Kennedy Ryan's aesthetically pleasing, lustrous writing immersed me in the world of Kenan and Lotus, the protagonists at the heart of the story. Both characters have a story to tell about their past, both have work to do on their own selves and the last thing either of them need is each other. It's clear that their attraction is something that they cannot fight forever and the unfolding emotional story is totally compelling. I believed in their thoughts, their motives and their actions. Their chemistry with each other shines through the prose and made me care deeply about them as individuals and as a couple. I felt their passion for each other, their pain, their turmoil and heartache. The romantic relationship that develops between them is super sexy with a first kiss to end all first kisses....     I absolutely adored Hook Shot! Keenan is an absolute sweetheart. The strong and silent type. Though a little playful. Sexy as heck. He’s so kind. And patient. Just so good to Lo. I am clearing gushing... I have a new book boyfriend y’all. And Lo is just so undeniably her own person. She is who she is and carries that with confidence.

    They start as friends but the chemistry is there from start. They both don’t want relationships and Lo isn’t looking for a hookup either. He’s trying to see to his daughters well being, while she’s seeing to her own. But they can’t deny the feelings that blossom. I loved how the relationship progressed. From a friendship, with some serious tension. Oh, but the patience though. Will melt your heart.

    This story has all the feels. It will make you smile, swoon and sweat! My favourite of the series!

    Kennedy certainly delivered another awesome book in this emotionally charged story!
    Hook shot is a slow(ish) burn , age gap , friends to lovers sports romance where their chemistry is evident and smokin from the beginning but they both have a lot of emotional healing to do before they can fully be together .
    Kenan is a 36yo veteran basketball player who has survived a messy public divorce and is still trying to pull his life back together for himself and his daughter . He’s kind and thoughtful and a gentle giant . Who is struggling to trust again .
    Lotus is a 25year old ‘ old soul ‘ , learning the ropes of the fashion industry under a famous designer she’s independent, strong and un afraid to be herself. Lotus has a history of childhood sexual abuse and she too is on a journey of healing and learning to trust and give herself over to love and intimacy .

    This is book 3 in the hoops series which can each be read as stand alone quite easily but are tied together through wonderful world building and characters that are connected .

    Kennedy has a great way with words , she draws you in and captures your attention and heart ❤️
