    I have to thank jjs_bookobsession for recommending another book that is going to mess with my head for a long time.

    This review will be brief because I do not want to give anything away. Just know this journey is sick, twisted, deranged, and dark and I couldn't put the book down once I started.

    Throughout the book, I felt a little deranged myself. One minute, I'm giggling at some crazy banter/antics (like real crazy, not cute crazy) and the next my breath is taken away from the horror of the scene unfolding. While reading this book, I felt like a chameleon in a bowl of skittles: sick, angry, disgusted, confused, sad, and finally... happy-ish. And then there's the ending twist... WTF!!! Are you serious!

    After reading Hostile Illusion and Hostile Saint, I knew when this author said dark, it would be dark. Thankfully, the author has a flashlight and guides us through the darkness, though I will tell you, there are parts of this book that will steal your breath, hurt your soul, and break your heart. You just never know what evil will come out of the darkness and this book is filled with evil. I personally loved Ivy and Bors’ story and being the twisted dark reader I am, I look forward to more from this author!

    As for recommendations… if you can handle triggers and very very dark books… READ THIS ONE! This one is for all my dark romance lovers that like to walk on the edge. (I mean real DARK, not light gray wanna be dark).

    This novella is an intense, dark, gripping story that immediately had me absorbed in the story from the first page until the last. The raw emotions it invokes as you read are extremely powerful due to the way the story is written. Simply brilliant craftsmanship weaving words like this so intricately.

    My heart rate elevated to an incredible level with the excitement in a certain situation and I honestly felt like I was there with the characters in the story. At other times, I found myself smiling so much from very simple yet fun actions. I also love Bors’ sense of humour, often very sarcastic but always humorous. Ivy is without doubt one of the strongest heroines I’ve read about and I adore her.

    To see(and I mean that because as I said before you feel more than just acquainted with these characters) Bors grow and expand into unexplored territory is such a delight as is Ivy’s journey. Together their physical chemistry is like no other yet their understanding of each other is also just as deep and meaningful.

    Another sensational story by this wonderful author who truly knows how to entertain her readers.

    There's a reason India Adams is one of my all time favorite authors. Her writing touches the depth of my soul and her words resonate deep with their truth, power, and understanding. Adams is known for her stories that cover difficult but necessary topics of abuse, sexual assault and trauma, love, loss, human trafficking, and more.

    The story of Bors and Ivy is true to form. Like every other book I've read by Adams, there's shocking and brutal aspects but also an underlying hope that imperfect and damaged people can find love and forgiveness, healing and security despite their faults and mistakes. Bors and Ivy are both twisted and scarred in ways that are hard to read at times but I loved the gritty realism of their lives and the perseverance of character they both display.

    Their love story isn't planned but I found it perfectly imperfect. Bors and Ivy grow on you as you read and pretty soon they become as cherished and loved as a best friend. I wanted many times to reach into the book and prevent their suffering but that's a testament to excellent writing that I was so sucked into the story. This is a hard, brutal, and beautifully crafted read that should not be missed. I won't give away spoilers but suffice it to say that there's so much to love about this book and you'll be rooting for our lost souls the entire time from start to finish.

    “IVY’S POISON” is phenomenal. Every novel I’ve had the opportunity to read by author India R. Adams has been phenomenal and “IVY’S POISON” continues that perfection in a way I did not expect. For nearly half the book, readers are given dark and psychological insights into what seem like the most twisted lives possible. Bors by definition is an assassin who develops an obsession on Ivy and then becomes the man deigned by his boss to end the life of Ivy’ father. And thus, begins the most amazing tale! Staying true to form, Adams’s writing is eloquent and descriptive, her characters are so well developed they become real, breathing entities, and the story as always illustrates as realistically as fiction can, the redemptive power of love. This is the first Cavalieri Della Morte (“IVY’S POISON” is actually book 5) novel for me, but it will not be the last! I have a growing number of titles to read by some equally remarkable authors. If you venture from time to time to darker romances, then I must HIGHLY recommend you start with “IVY’S POISON,” and you should purchase your copy today! Happy pages! 😉

    This book was fantastic. I've never read this Author but I'm checking out her books based on this story. I loved her writing, It completely sucked me in from the beginning.

    Deeply dark and disturbing at times but utterly gripping. The pace flowed perfectly and I found myself engrossed. It was suspenseful, shocking and exhilarating at the same time. The witty humour in the story cut through the Darkness I found myself chuckling a time or two.

    Bors is pure Alpha, terrifying, dangerous yet undeniably a protector of the innocent. I absolutely loved him. To see the softer side of This big bad Assassin melted my heart, I laughed my ass off at times too. Bors is definitely a Man you want on your side, a true Dark Avenger.

    Ivy is a complete badass. This chick is smart and she knows how to take care of herself. The brutal world she has been brought up in has taught her how to survive and protect what she loves at any cost. My heart hurt for her at times, life hasn't been easy for Ivy. She struggles through Hell but she has something worth fighting for so she does what she has to and that's why I admired her strength.

    The chemistry between Ivy and Bors is fuxking hotttt. 🔥 Holy Sh!t!!!
    The way that man Growls is sexy as fuxk.

    Loved everything about this book and it's my first 5 Star read in the series.
    Bors and Ivy are gonna be a hard act to follow that's for sure.

    Ivy's Poison is book 5 of the Cavalieri Della Morte series. It can be read as a stand alone dark romantic suspense.

    This book has strong themes of violence and some readers may find the sexual content offensive.

    Bors is an assasin on a mission to take out the leader of a motorcycle gang. However he hadn't planned on falling for the leader's daughter. Brought up without a family, having no ties is ideal for his work. But everything changes when he finds he'll do anyhting to save the ones he loves.

    Once again Adams' strong characters and well-written descriptions make this an engrossing story. Even if at times the content made me feel uncomfortable.
