I Wanna Text You Up (Texting Series) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 2,391 ratings

When I put up a ROOMMATE WANTED poster, he was the last person on earth I thought would respond.

He was also the last person on earth I'd agree to let live with me...on purpose.

But, here we are––roommates. I'm certain we can coexist without it being awkward, and I'm determined to make it work. There will be no sexual tension building with each accidental touch, no flutters when he wears that stupid backward baseball cap, and
definitely no flirting when we text back and forth.

Caleb Mills can't be the guy for me. He's my best friend's ex-boyfriend.

And that would be wrong...
right?

I Wanna Text You Up is a full-length standalone roommates-to-lovers romantic comedy that features a baseball-playing hero, an artist heroine, too many Rocky Horror Picture Show references, a cute kitten, and a happy ending.

Aaand we're back with another Texting series review!

While I was sad to say goodbye to Delia and Zach, I was excited to see what Zoe and Caleb were all about given I really enjoyed them as side characters in LGT. Tie in the fact this was a roommate romance, which gave me that forced proximity trope I LOVE, and I was sold. Although reading is 100% subjective and everyone is entitled to their opinion, I'm actually shocked to see so many readers who didn't enjoy this book. For me personally, Teagan did not disappoint with her delivery, and I couldn't have asked for anything better except—as aforementioned in my previous review—more spice. Detailed spicy scenes are clearly not Teagan's style though, and I'm okay with that as long as the connection between the characters is palpable, which for me, it was.

    Okay, onto the characters. ☝🏻

Though Zoe seemed a little crazier in LGT (and I don't mean in the psychotic sense), she explains why she's settled down a bit. And honestly? I get it. I actually really liked the slightly more mellowed out version of Zoe, especially after finding out what had driven her to be the previously promiscuous party girl in the first place. I think my only complaint about her character was wishing I got to see more of her artist side come through. Delia raved about how talented she was, and we never really got to see her in action except for one quick scene. Other than that, she was a solid female lead with a smart mouth and big heart. I appreciated her conflicting thoughts and emotions between wanting Caleb and knowing there was an invisible line drawn in the sand given who Caleb was. I also appreciated how, when push came to shove and she wanted to see where things could go between them, she wasn't a p**sy and was actually woman enough to meet with her best friend and lay it all out on the table.

Now Caleb... I'll be the first to admit I'm not usually into jocks, in books and the real world. But Caleb? Oh, honeyyyy—Caleb can get it. 😏The blond curly locks, the backwards cap, the body he keeps in tip top shape... Yes, please. He's sweet, kind, respectful (most of the time 😈), fiercely protective of those he cares about, motivated and determined, and despite being aloof and secretive at times, I thought he was the total package. I especially loved that he knew how to cook, too. I'm a sucker for men who can really throw down in the kitchen. **drools**

Overall, I enjoyed their banter and the sexual tension of being confined in tight quarters. I know some reviewers felt the story line was too similar to book one, but I have to politely disagree. The only similarity I found was the texting, but that's part of the series, and honestly, if the texts hadn't been written as they were, I would've found them boring. I'd say I'm speedily moving onto book three, but I'm actually not all that intrigued by Robbie and whoever Monty is. The single dad angle is definitely interesting, but I'm not sold at the moment. I may come back to it here in the next few weeks after I've had a little break. In any case, as the series currently stands, I definitely recommend book one and two. They're light, funny, swoony, and if you're someone who doesn't enjoy a lot of spice, they've got the perfect amount to keep you fanning yourself for just a couple minutes.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 roommate to lovers stars!

After being introduced to the characters in the first book of the series and laughing through so much of it, I quickly delved into this story. I loved Caleb, but only liked Zoe when she was acting more like Delia.

Caleb started out a bit moody in the last book, but soon turned around to be such a great guy and he mostly is that way through this book. We learn so much more about him, including that he got a kitten sometime during the time frame of the last book. I felt so sad some of his dreams seemed to be upset, and hope that can be remedied. The guy likes kids, can cook, cleans, works hard, and is loyal...what’s not to like?

Zoe... Zoe was a bit confusing. I felt like for most of the book, other than expected Zoe-isms, she was more like Delia than Zoe. Being best friends their similarities might be close, but their differences were a bit drastic. Frankly, I don’t care for the player lifestyle, whether it’s the man or the woman, and she seemed too much like that.... but was portrayed differently in this book most of the time. I hope she’s changed for Calebs sake as well as hers. The fact that she flirts with others even after he moves in...eh not a fan, neither is Caleb.

Their “meet-cute” for roommate hunting was funny, especially with Zach and Delia added into the chaos. The e-mails and texts were funny many times. Having never watched nor had any want to watch “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” references to that went over my head and was just weird, but to each their own.

I really liked Caleb in this, even when he makes a few mistakes. I’m not sure how a future is going to work for them since he likes kids and coaching them and Zoe is anti-kid. Some of her physical and personality traits don’t seem like they’d be Caleb’s match... but it’s still a worthy read. I just didn’t love it as much as the first book because of Zoe.

I would recommend reading as part of the series in order. We get moments with Zach and Delia and of course they’re over the top. Caleb is charming, so is Mittens. When Zoe is being sweet it’s awesome and her parents are something else. I’d be curious how they adapt in the future. There are a lot of laughs, as to be expected.

This story is told in first person from Zoe’s perspective. Have Caleb’s insights would have been fun, but then his mysteriousness might have been less. A Dual POV would have been welcome in any of these stories. Onto Book 3.

This has to be one of my new favorites! I laughed and smiled the entire book!!! I love the nerdiness and quirkiness! I love everything about it and will definitely be reading it again! I like the fact they incorporated Zach and Delia from Let’s get Textual, too! Overall such a great read!

Well this was not as fun or funny as the "Let's Get Textual", the first in this series. I was really anticipating Zoe's and Caleb's story but this fell a little flat. I liked the roommate angle and the beginning texting back and forth, but as the relationship progressed it never sparkled. It was a really slow burn and I got frustrated if I read ,"But he's my best friend's ex-boyfriend" one more time. Gah, we get it already. I was looking forward to the author's brand of humor but it didn't really shine through on this one, I'm gonna give it one more go to see if Robbie's story is a winner.

Apesar do interesse óbvio entre os protagonistas, eles não pulam na cama de cara! Eles passam a se conhecer melhor, se tornam amigos e se apaixonam. Recomendo muito os livros dessa série da Teagan Hunter.

After reading Let's Get Textual, I didn't think I'd enjoy this one as much because it wasn't about the same couple.

    I WAS WRONG.

Zoe and Caleb were just as adorable and I loved the slow burn. Teagan is a master at sarcasm and dry wit and I'm excited to read more of her books!

This book was a one click for me, purely based on the first one. And it definitely lived up to the expectation.
I absolutely loved the chemistry between zoe and caleb. You can feel it building on the pages you read. Even though a large amount of this book is written in text format, it actually enhances the story rather than draws away from it.
Will definitely be jumping onto the next one!!
