Imagine Me
Audible Audiobook
– Unabridged
Shane’s her brother’s best friend and 13 years older than her. Juliana knows his desire to be the loner and to never settle down. But none of that stops her from showing up at his hotel room late one night.
Months later, she imagines every scenario for when she runs into Shane again. However, she never imagined him brushing off their scorching night together. She never imagined him calling her a "little girl" who can’t handle a man. His words ignite a fire in Juliana. If she has to date every single guy in Cincinnati, she’ll prove that she is more than capable of “handling” a man.
Except Juliana and Shane can’t stay away from each other, so they set up some rules; only sex, and no telling her brother. It doesn’t take long for the sex to turn into feelings, and Juliana can feel his icy exterior melting. Is he willing to risk his best friend for a chance at love? For Juliana, that might be too good to imagine.

This was another great read by Fiona Cole. She has sealed the deal as a one-click author for me with this sassy, sexy tale of Shane, Juliana’s brother’s older best friend who shouldn’t fall for the young, feisty and unforgettable younger sister. You don’t mess with the younger sister, especially when you’re a closed off loner like Shane who never intends to marry and have a family. But Juliana is nothing if not persistent and knows what she wants…
The chemistry between Shane and Juliana is explosive and jumps off the pages. You can’t help but be in the moment when Juliana and Shane spend time together, feeling every emotion that they do. You will find yourself falling in love with both of them. Juliana’s need for independence and drive to make something out of her life is something I admire about her character. She doesn’t want to fall in line with what her family expects of her. Shane is…well, at times he truly is an as#*@%. He’s older, set in his ways and doesn’t want to acknowledge that Juliana is quickly becoming important to him. You learn why he’s so closed off, but the more you get to know him the more you realize what a swoon-worthy guy he really is. He does care, he does look out for the people he considers family.
I loved the development of their relationship. They complimented each other so well and the banter and laughs they shared were pure bliss. You can’t help but smile while reading their story. I can’t lie, there will be tears. Shane shows a side of himself that you will ooooo and ahhhhh over. Yes, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry and hope beyond all odds that Shane and Juliana find their way to one another. The secondary characters are a big plus in this story too. You’ll quickly find yourself wanting to be part of “the gang.”
It’s hard to believe this is only Fiona’s 4th book. Her writing is flawless, captivating and all around enjoyable. Bottom line, I love their story and read it in one day because I could not put it down. If you’re looking for a new author that will have you smiling and wanting more, check out Fiona Cole.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2017If there’s one thing that Fiona Cole masters then it’s writing scorching hot sex scenes. There’s plenty of them in Imagine Me and the chemistry between Julianna and Shane is insane. I was introduced to them in Deny Me and Shame Me Not but Imagine Me can easily be read as a standalone.
Shane was definitely frustrating the hell out of me with his hot/cold behavior and I was waiting for him to man the f... up. He did in the sweetest and swoon worthy way. He’s definitely an experienced man who’s had his share of women including Julianna, who can’t forget about their one night together or his delicious and skilled mouth. She’s a funny, quirky and strong woman who won’t let her parents or her brother Jack decide her future. In their eyes she’s the baby in the family and she just wants to prove them wrong.
Julianna and Shane were so much fun. Their chemistry was undeniable and incredible hot. Both wanted something out of their arrangement and Julianna was brave enough to voice it whereas Shane was had his reasons for pulling away.
The secondary characters were super. Julianna’s brother Jack and their friends added some humor to the story. So did her roommate Jolene. They’re more than just friends they’re each other’s family. Imagine Me made me laugh, swoon and hot as hell. Fiona Cole didn’t disappoint.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2019Man it’s like this book was made for me. Age gap, check. Older brothers best friend, check. Angsty, check. Smart heroine, check. All my favorite things were in this book, so it was almost guaranteed I would like this book, as long as the writing was good, and it was good; needless to say I was happy.
Juliana is a great heroine, or maybe I just liked her. She’s super smart, determined to live her life on her own terms, she’s a good friend and sister. Oh and my favorite, she doesn’t really like coffee, but has awesome mugs (seriously that’s me), and snarky funny t-shirts, another favorite of mine. I like that she is the one to really put it out there that she wants Shane, she really goes for what she wants even if that leaves her open to rejection.
Shane, I liked a lot too, even though he does or says some things that broke my heart a little. He’s a good guy, a cop, super good looking. But he’s also 13 years older than Juliana and he feels like he’s too old for her, but also her brother is basically the only family he has and it’s a big risk for him he isn’t really ready to risk. Even with all that, these two are super hot together, but it’s not all better the sheets. They have great chemistry and it’s fun watching them out in the world together.
I really really liked this book, it will probably go into my list of books good enough for a reread.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2020I have loved all of the books I have read by Fiona Cole. She is an author that delivers every time. There is something unique in each of her stories.
‘Imagine Me’ was an unbelievably sweet, romantic and steamy read. I was drawn into the story and characters and couldn’t stop reading. Shane and Juliana were quite the pair. He was tough, rugged, brooding with a tender heart once Juliana broke down his walls. Juliana was sassy, loving and a young woman trying to forge her own future. I think that most female readers can easily relate to struggles with Hudson and her family. She was one of the most relatable female characters I have ever read.
The romance factor was high in this book. I loved to read how the relationship blossomed between these two. There were sweet, funny and sassy moments that left me sighing. I loved most of all Shane’s notes and gifts to Juliana. They showed how well he knew her and loved her. SIGH… You will see exactly what I mean about the notes and gifts if you read ‘Imagine Me.’
Read about Shane and Juliana and I guarantee you will fall in love. It was like watching and hearing about your best friend’s experiences it was so well written. Loved it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A real masterpiece! ...and I've found a new favorite author
I've just discovered Fiona Cole this week and three days later I've already finished my second book by her. She's an excellent writer and I totally fell in love with her stories. Imagine Me is just another masterpiece by her. It's hot (so freaking H-O-T) and emotional. I couldn’t not fall in love with these characters and their story.
Juliana is such an inspirational woman. She's fearless, strong, intelligent and funny. Her character had me falling in love with her whole person. Her beautiful, inspirational and strong spirit. She's just the best.
And then there's Shane. He's closed off, secretive and kind of an a**, yet in his own way he's also lovely, caring and funny. A unique person and he is just so H-O-T!!! And he's a detective which made everything even hotter.
Together those two had the pages going up in flames. It was freaking hot. But Imagine Me isn't just an erotic, forbidden, brother's best friend romance novel, it's an emotional and heartbreaking story. My heart was all in while reading and I never expected to fall so fearlessly in love with Shane and Juliana. Fiona just captured my heart once again with this slow burn romance.
I think I've found a new favorite author / must-buy author in Fiona Cole. Her writing is unique, hot, sexy and emotional. Her stories draw me in like no other. I never thought I'd find another author that draws me in like this again, but Fiona Cole definitely stole my heart with her words.
I've read this book in one sitting, I just couldn't put it down and I'm sure this won't be the last book by Fiona that will steal my heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good read
Enjoyed reading about Shane and Juliana , this is a new author for and and while enjoying isolation and lock down in exploring new writers !
Some of this book brought back some good memories for me as surprisingly my husband is 13 years older than me . And this little bits of detail in the book of going out and having the fear of being caught by an overprotective brother ? Oh yeah it’s a real pain in the ass , having to constantly declare your independent and want to mange on your own cash ? That was all very true to how it actually feels ,
I enjoyed reading the pull and push between these two and most of the emotions described were true to a T .
Book is worth a read I loved it 😬

5.0 out of 5 stars She believed she could, so she did.
Imagine Me is my first book by Fiona Cole but it definitely won’t be my last.
Within pages I fell in love with Juliana and this love only grew over the course of the story. Jules is a character I found myself really identifying with. We may share very different backgrounds but her values - about needing to be more than just a woman or some man’s partner/wife, to be valued as a person: an intelligent, clever, funny, spirited person - just resonated so well with me. And then her crazy imagination conjuring up various scenarios - that is just me all over - so Jules you definitely aren’t alone!!
“I liked to play this game with myself. I figured a lot of people did, at least that’s what I told myself to rationalise my overactive imagination. I would think of these extravagant situations that would never happen, but I’d let them play out in my mind and let my heart rate speed up as if they’d actually come to fruition.”
Shane, on the other hand, is so gruff and unapproachable to begin with. But I could tell there was more there and as I got to know him, the more I loved this sexy, stern, hulk of a man. And by the end of the book, I was a complete convert to the wonder and gloriousness that is Shane.
Imagine Me dealt with some bigger issues than just a forbidden romance between an older man and his best friend’s younger sister. It was about the presence of patriarchy in today’s modern society and the impact of this on a young woman like Juliana who wasn’t afraid to go after what (or who) she wanted - even if it meant defying her family’s wishes or the wishes of those around her.
In saying that, Fiona has written a brilliantly steamy, romance that started off as a wonderful slow burn. I loved the lingering glances, long looks and the subtle flirting between Shane and Jules - even if I just wanted them to hurry up and get together!! Alongside these genuine lead characters were a cast of fabulous supporting characters and Fiona does a great job of them in Imagine Me. I laughed out loud so many times at Evie and Joelene’s antics (hope we get to see more of Jo!) who were absolutely hilarious!!!
I’m looking forward to reading more by Fiona Cole - especially going back to the stories of characters we see in Imagine Me. This was a fantastic story that I hardly put down once I started - Juliana and Shane hooked me and didn’t let go.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 hot stars....
An enjoyable smoking hot read! I enjoyed this story and how the characters (both from previous books and new ones) interacted throughout. The book follows Jules and Shane.... who shared one passionate night together at a wedding a year ago.... as they reconnect and overcome the barriers in their way. A brothers-best-friend age gap romance that ticks all the boxes!
Love the way this author writes! Will miss the Kings characters!
