Good Book But
The book is a quick read but unfortunately this Mil SciFi is a young adult novel. The plot is more predictable than most Space Operas. Gave the series 2 reads moving on to another

The story is engaging and layered into book one ,but could also be read as a stand-alone book. Great Characters and action packed . This was a fast read even though it is 386 pages. There is a lot of dialogue so it moves quick . I really liked this book.

A good read. Lots of bad guys, good guys, and few in between. As for readability, I found the dialog a bit hard to used to. Several paragraphs would be one persons voice. I’ve been used to paragraphs having all of dialog for a given person with the next paragraph given another’s dialog. I know this is carping, just sayin’ 😜

Andrea was only an 18 year old girl. The product of growing up part of two completely different cultures, mostly at odds with each other. Although most girls of her age would be thinking the thoughts and angst of puberty, Andrea wants to be an Imperial Marine and a citizen of the Empire. Impressive forces are aligned against her, but she has allies as well. How she survives recruit training and triumphs is the story. The author does a good job in relating the story from an 18 year old's point of view. This is an interesting book with quite alot about the life, thoughts and actions of marine drill instructors. A good weekend read.

Why did he have to kill U R Handley, one of my favorite authors? Keeping Craig Martelle alive is understandable. Ha!
Good writing, with good characters and action with enough intrigue to make the story more than a simple.coming of age in boot camp.

Entertaining story about a young girl and her training in the imperial marines, which had rescued her from the inhumane regime that ruthlessly discarded any who are different.

the hate towards Andrea is real in this book, y'all . but she's a tough girl and managed to show everyone she's deserving to be recognized as human instead of a thing, a property.
The writers put this girl through so much issues and she managed to gain friend and dedicated rival and the other POVS from the Drill sargeant and one of her family members? perfect! just the mixture of emotion and a hint of comedy is just perfect.

I wouldn't give this book 5 stars for its literacy quality or development of character but I thoroughly enjoyed it and the impending conflict between the Empire and the Singularity makes me want to read the next episode.
