In the End: A Quarantine Romance Kindle Edition
Kendall Jameson was traveling when the outbreak started. All she knew was what she heard on the radio. There was a virus, a sickness being spread across the country, and everyone was running scared. On her way home, she makes one last stop to see her best friend and by fate or chance or by simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time, she finds herself quarantined inside by a sudden military presence.
She doesn't carry the virus, and as far as she knows, neither does anyone else in the facility but the men guarding the store doesn't seem to care and she knows they’re not letting her go anywhere anytime soon.
Levi James never expected that his National Guard unit would be ordered to confine over two hundred civilians inside a retail store, but orders are orders. He’s here to do a job. That’s all these people are, until he meets her.
They connect instantly over their similar surnames and the comfortability while getting to know one another.
Instant attraction sparks and their forced confinement gives them the chance to become more than strangers, even more than friends.
When Levi starts to feel sick, he worries he might be the threat they’re all so worried about. But Kendall refuses to leave his side.
If this is really the end, she wants to spend it with him.
Will they be separated and lose one another forever, or can they overcome the virus and live to fight another day?

- Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2020IN THE END is a story that skillfully imitates the reality which is greatly affecting countless people at this point in time all over the world, and I was kept completely enthralled in every cleverly thought-out scene. While many of the circumstances are very similar to what is being faced by numerous individuals at this time, there are also situations which have been imaginatively created by Tarrah Anders. Regardless of whether an event parallels fact or fiction, I was always totally convinced whatever was taking place in the book could really be happening.
When a new type of virus began to have an effect on a few people in the states, Kendall Jameson went to check on her father and was glad all is going well for him. She leaves for home after warnings to not travel any more are declared, yet plans to make a quick visit to see her best friend at the store where she is employed since it is on the way. Her decision to stop results in her being locked inside the business because of an infected person, and all the customers plus employees must stay until the National Guard says they can leave. One soldier sent to make certain everything remains under control is Levi James, and a bond is formed when he and Kendall keep coming in contact.
With so many details based in today’s reality, IN THE END grabbed my full attention during every riveting development. I worried about how things would turn out for Kendall and Levi, because the incidents they are tackling are just as uncertain as the ones I am currently either living through or hearing about. Tarrah Anders made me truly care about her couple, as they come across as so personable and true-to-life. Levi is dedicated to carrying out his assignments, yet his private feelings come into play from time to time. I really liked how Kendall tried to make events seem positive, and I had to smile at some of her remarks. As they confront the many challenges that crop up, I came to respect them and kept wishing for the best as they tried to overcome lots of issues while also becoming intimately involved. This is my first book by Tarrah Anders, but it will not be the last.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2020Inspired by the craziness of our world, Tarrah gives us some hope, humor, and heat despite the insanity around us.
Kendall stops in this box store on her way thru New Mexico on her way to see her father in Texas. She plans to see her best friend. Little did she expect to find herself locked down in said store with her bff, a slew of strangers, and the National Guard.
On the other hand, she also finds herself getting close to one particular soldier, Levi. Who simply can't resist her charms. It is definitely love in the time of quarantine...
This was an intriguing imagining of what could happen. If only things were that organized.
Levi and Kendall love story was sweet & steamy. I loved their story.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2020Tarrah Anders is one of my go-to authors to read--I've always been able to connect with her style of writing and her characters are always easy to relate with. So, when I discovered she was writing a story based on the real-world crisis that we're all faced with right now, I couldn't wait to find out what she was doing on the subject matter.
In the End is an insta-love story of sorts between Levi and Kendall. Levi is in the military and Kendall happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when a quarantine goes into effect at the store she was shopping in. The two of them have that instant connection and the heart doesn't lie where those two are concerned. Anders gave the story her signature touch by adding in some pretty steamy romance to a very tense and nerve wracking situation. It didn't take long for Kendall and Levi to realize they didn't want to be apart from one another.
Though the story was based on serious subject matter, there was romance and even a little bit of humor at times to lighten the burden that everyone locked inside the store was faced with. The flow was very fast and I found that I didn't want to stop reading once I got into the story. I had a feeling of how the ending was going to play out, but Anders did a fantastic job keeping me on the edge of my seat.
I really love what she did with the story and I think readers will find it uplifting. Anders never disappoints and if you're new to her writing, I think In the End is a great story for you to start with.

They were just great together.
