In the World but Not of It: New Teachings from Jesus on Embodying the Divine Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.7 out of 5 stars 407 ratings

From the introduction, by Jesus, "What I have come to teach now is that you can embody love, as I did. You can become Christ within this human life and learn to embody all that is good within you. I came to show you the beauty of your own soul and what is possible as a human. I came to show you that it is possible to be both human and divine, to be love incarnate. You are equally both. You walk with one foot in the world of form and another in the formless. This mysterious duality within your being is what this book is about."

"The consciousness that is within me is also within you. You are the son as equally as I am. You are the 'I am' I spoke about. You and I are one. You and everyone else are one. Many are ready for the Christ within to come forward and manifest in the world more fully. The birthing of this Christ - of Christ Consciousness - is the true second coming. 'Christ Consciousness,' as I am using it, points to the divinity within everyone and the potential for that divinity to become a living reality, to become what lives you. I was an example of that possibility in my lifetime 2,000 years ago."

This book was given to Gina Lake by Jesus. It is part of a series of books, including A Heroic Life and The Jesus Trilogy.

Beautiful, gentle, practical & easy steps in how to disconnect from the insanity of your mind.
What a treasure Gina Lake's book "In The World But Not Of It" has been to both my husband and me. We've both spent the past few years on what I'd call a "spiritual journey" in trying to find peace, joy, happiness & in trying to live the extension of God's love. We've both have read hundreds of books, attending lectures and listened to teachers. During it all, we've struggled in trying to stay on that path and fought the demons of our imperfect journey. Then we stumbled on to "In this World But Not Of it" and...hallelujah!! ...FINALLY, a book that, rather than speaking in parables, offers straight forward instruction written in today's language. In Gina's book you don't have to read too far in to understand that 1) perfection is NOT the goal...at all. In fact, being perfectly imperfect is part of the process. What a "forgiveness" pass that insight was! 2) My ego had so complicated the concepts of Spirituality and enlightenment that I had no idea where to begin, which resulted in the "struggle" often felt. I had become so weary of the seeking that I had all but lost hope. This book not only revealed the simplicity of awakening to my Divine Self but also provided the simple process of moving from my false self to All that I am and have always been. (imperfections and all!) The beauty and refreshing change of this book from so many we'd read previously was that it's not just offering lip service with a bunch of over-used cliches in regard to being more aware, needing to find presence and in the now in order to find peace in this world....it tells you HOW to be aware and HOW to be in presence and HOW to live in the now. It gives you clear concise instructions in practical doable exercises to disconnect from the mindless chatter of your mind and help you drop into presence. (the cloud/blue sky meditation is now me "go-to" stress reliever- be it as light as sitting in a traffic jam, or having to let go of deeper far more intrusive false-beliefs. ) This book is the key. It's a practical guide to help you in your day and it approaches it from a more simplistic "just do it" kind of perspective without all the scientific jargon and of how you rewire your brain. Read it slowly. Mediate on the words. Practice the suggested exercises....and then RE-READ it again. This book is a gift and if you are willing to let go and allow, it will change your life.

Have you ever wanted Spiritual Truth simply and directly? Not hidden in metaphor or allegory? Over two thousand years ago Jesus said, “I have spoken these things in parables with you, but the time is coming when I shall speak with you, not in parables, but I shall declare to you about The Father plainly.” That hour has come and it is now!

In Gina's newest channeled work, In the World But Not of It, Jesus lays out Truth simply and directly using plain language. He shares exactly what the ego is, and how and why it does what it does. He does not attack the ego as bad or wrong. He shares that even the ego has Divine Purpose. Jesus gently guides the reader deeper and deeper, sharing exactly how to recognize the ego as thoughts, and how to release attachment to them.

He then invites the reader to rest back into an always Perfect Presence with great curiosity. Further, he outlines how to "get into" the body and allow its wonderful senses to fully experience the unfathomable mystery of Creation. This book is like a road map out of the persistent confusion of the thinking mind (and all the emotional side effects) into the brilliant clarity of experiential Presence.

Direct teachings like this from the Master are priceless. It is like Jesus answers the reader's question even before one thinks to ask it. I invite you to dive deeply into the gift this book is. I promise you will not be disappointed. The ego may squirm at much of what Jesus shares in this text, but your Soul will sing its eternal song of "I AM Here, I AM Here".

This is not a book to speed read, rather it is a gift of Freedom to be savored. Engage it gently, slowly, even restfully. Doing so will quicken the Spiritual Alchemy that is suffusing every line on every page. Great gratitude to Gina for allowing Jesus to work through her with such clarity.

This book, like all of Gina's books that I've read so far, is one of the most helpful I have ever read on my path of awakening, especially on the topic of divine embodiment. It contains a transmission of energy that, as others have noted, has a way of bringing awakening out of ego consciousness suddenly within reach. It is not really about the words, although they are clear and flow beautifully - and I appreciate that as a professional editor! - rather, it is the clear, relatively unfiltered transmission from a highly-evolved being that makes this book so valuable. Because it comes from such a high space however, readers will receive this transmission only to the degree they are asking for it.

It is unfortunate that so many Christians are so wedded to the Bible, a book that was written thousands of years ago, heavily edited and translated many times until so much of its value has been lost. I pray that one day we may all trust ourselves and God enough to realize that the Word of God lives within each of us, and can never be captured in the pages of any book. Until that day Gina Lake's books, and those of a handful of other authors like her, will serve as beacons for those of us who have chosen to make awakening our first priority in life. There is no need for dogma when you can trust the voice of Love within your own heart, and this is what it really means to follow Christ. Thank you Gina for making your books affordable and easily accessible. They are doing great work in the world.

1.0 out of 5 stars How can you channel Jesus but not give Him a voice?
Reviewed in Australia on October 25, 2019
This is Advaita and Buddhism. All well and good.
But it is so boring, I'm not going to finish it.
When I purchased it, I thought "Oh great, a book channeled by Jesus."
    It is not.
It's just a mish mash of ideas sold through the idea of Jesus.
Best to read Ram Das', "Be Here Now." That's a life changing book, and when you visit his website you wont get charged close to US$400 to learn how to be in the present moment, unlike this Author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Profound Wisdom with Clarity and Simplicity
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 29, 2016
The highest wisdom conveyed with clarity and simplicity. I acquired this book on my kindle and ended up highlighting probably more than half of it, since almost every paragraph is beaming with profound spiritual truth. I particularly enjoyed how this book emphasized the recognition that, although there is a journey to be made, all is well already, and constant dissatisfaction, even towards one's own level of consciousness, is simply another one of the ego's games. Instead of fueling a "we must fix ourselves and the world" mode of being which puts too much emphasis on the dangerous idea that there's something fundamentally wrong with it and ourselves, this book reminds us that constant judgment is another form of resistance and rejection, and what our hearts truly desire is not to reject the world and ourselves but to accept, embrace and love them despite their apparent imperfections. As far as facilitating profound acceptance goes, this is one of the most helpful books I have read.
