Incognito Kindle Edition
My dreams of attending Juilliard shattered the night tragedy struck my family.
That night, a part of me died inside.
Now, the only peace I find is in stolen moments on a rooftop where I dance to remember as much as to forget.
Until I literally stumble headfirst into Levi’s life.
He’s six feet two inches of ripped, hard, gorgeous temptation wrapped in a very irritating package. I swear he was sent to test me, because his hot-and-cold attitude pushes my buttons like no guy has before.
I don’t know at what point I fall, but he worms his way into my heart without me noticing. One moment we are trading insults, the next we’re shedding our clothes and surrendering to the searing-hot chemistry smoldering between us.
He breathes life into me again.
Before tearing me apart when I discover it’s all been a lie.
He says he kept his identity a secret for my protection.
Yet I’m all alone when his enemies come for me.

From the Author
Large hands snake around my back, and I'm hauled against a hard, warm, masculine chest. My face is buried in his shirt, and I'm suddenly hyper-aware of the way I'm held against him. How firmly his hands are gripping my lower back and all the ways in which we are pressed together. I swallow over the sudden ripple of electricity in the air. Notes of citrus and sandalwood tickle my nostrils, and I inhale the intoxicating masculine smell without stopping to think about it.
"Da f**k? Did you just sniff me?" Disbelief and derision are evident in his tone.
Slowly, I tip my chin up, completely embarrassed but ready to apologize, when I'm waylaid by the most gorgeous face I've ever seen. His strong jaw is peppered with a light layer of stubble, and he has full, pouty lips--currently twisted into a sneer, but I'm purposely ignoring that fact for now. His expressive green eyes are encased behind trendy black-rimmed glasses, only adding to the appeal. I've always had a thing for hot, nerdy guys in glasses, and this dude measures up even if there's nothing nerdy about him at all. With lustrous, dark hair shorn tight at the sides and worn long and effortlessly messy on top, this guy is seriously hot. Like Hollywood-level hot.
I'm already salivating.
And imagining licking every inch of his delectable body.
I jerk out of his hold as the thought lands in my mind, my cheeks flushing slightly at my barefaced visceral reaction.
"And why the f**k weren't you watching where you were going?" he demands, bending down to the ground with an irritated scowl etched across his delicious face.
I can't help ogling him as he bends over, noticing how his shirt stretches tight across his toned back, the hem riding up a few inches, exposing a strip of smooth, tan skin. My mouth is suddenly dry, my panties damp, and a foreign feeling rushes through me.
I take a step back as he straightens up, thrusting my cell and my bag at me. My eyes unashamedly roam his body from head to toe, and butterflies scatter in my chest. This guy is tall, at least over six feet, and he's built. Nicely built. Not overdone or too bulky. He's lean, with broad shoulders, abs that are clearly defined, even through the cotton of his tight shirt, and long, muscular legs that should be illegal on a guy.
He snorts out a laugh, shaking his head. "You're a real piece of work."
My eyelids flutter incessantly as I stare at him through a haze of lust.
This guy is something else.
And I'm making a total fool of myself.
I clear my throat and prepare to eat crow. I did bump into him after all, and I've been blatantly objectifying him since. "I'm so sorry. For knocking into you and for, ah ..." How exactly does one apologize for such blatant drooling?
"Treating me like man candy?" He smirks knowingly, and the smug, condescending expression on his face raises my hackles. Arrogance is one of my pet peeves in a guy. Should've known someone who looks like this would get hit on a lot and that it'd go straight to his over-inflated head.
"You caught me unaware," I explain, holding his gaze in what I hope is a neutral but confident manner. "But I apologize for my inappropriate behavior."
He smirks again, and it shaves a layer of attractiveness off his face. He opens his mouth to speak when a ping erupts from his cell, capturing both our attention.
My nostrils flare as I spot the open game app on his phone. "Hang on here a second." I plant my hands on my hips and glare at him. "You weren't looking where you were going either!" I gesture at his cell. "You were too damned busy playing Fortnite to notice me! This is as much your fault as it is mine."
"You're just splitting hairs, Blondie." He messes the top of my head, and I see red.
"Don't call me that! It's insulting and sexist."
Cocking his head to the side, he stares incredulously at me. "And the way you were checking me out wasn't?"
Valid point.
Douchebag.

Incognito was so many things that I am only going to touch on a few of the ones that I loved in this review. However, should you read it for yourself, I have no doubt that you will be able to add considerably to my list. First and foremost, Incognito was extremely well written. I often find that while I read, I critique books or get lost in the mistakes that have been missed in the editing and/or proofreading process. Therefore, I don’t always enjoy the story as much overall. It’s hard to see your own mistakes when you’re writing, and that’s why its so important to hire someone to go through your story objectively. I cannot tell you how much I value a book lacking excessive errors. When I don’t have to put my work cap on or highlight the crap out of a book, I feel like the authors deserve attention kudos and that’s the reason I am addressing my feelings in this review. I read an ARC of Incognito and would have expected to find some measure of mistakes as they are often still in the process of having a second edit (or in the hands of a proofreader). I was impressed by how well-edited Incognito was and was thus able to surrender to the story itself.
Incognito’s plot was equally brilliant and beautiful. Possessing an excellent combination of angst, sweet and sizzle made this enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance a perfect choice for any reader. Now, Rockstar romances tend to be some of my favorite reads and it was that link that had me jumping all over the story when I first read the blurb. I do have authors that I automatically one-click each book they release, and I have heard of Siobhan before, but never had the chance to grab a book she’s written. That all changed when I read the blurb for Incognito since I was so intrigued! Now I can tell you that this book truly delivered a plot that kept me turning pages for hours on end. The story was mostly unpredictable and the things that I figured out ahead of time were trivial.
Another major seller for me was how much I loved the characters in Incognito. That includes both the primary and secondary characters. Incidentally, some of those secondary characters I loved enough to hope I will get to read about them being on the receiving end of their own HEAs! As far as our hero and heroine of Incognito, they had amazing dynamics! Shawn was the sexy as sin Rockstar, who had reached the point in his fame where everyone looked at him as a meal ticket. He was jaded and justifiably so! His surly nature seemed to be limited to Dakota but the sparks that flew every time they were together nearly ignited my kindle and made the eventual surrender all the sweeter. I loved how Shawn stepped out of his comfort zone and took chances with regards to Dakota that he hadn’t with any woman in his past. While he is partly to blame for issues that arise between them, he also doesn’t hesitate at making things right between the pair repeatedly. As far as a heroine, I loved Dakota. She is beautiful inside and out but her snarky side was fabulous! She wasn’t a pushover and called out everyone the same way I do! She is incredibly strong which is deftly exhibited as we delve farther into her story. Dakota’s family tragedy was shocking for me - I truly didn’t see that twist coming. Both hero and heroine showed character progression, yet Dakota’s spoke to me the most. If I had experienced half of the horrors that she found herself living, I am not sure that I would’ve been able to get out of the fetal position – much less go away to College! She continued to be hit while she was down again, and again until I expected she would break. Only Siobhan took Dakota on a journey I wasn’t expecting, and I loved that there was no formula for this romance. (Or at least no formula past boy meets girl, boy likes girl, HEA ensues! 😉) As a romance novel, I expected passion. Yet, the passion I expected in Incognito was superseded in intensity and I loved just how sexy the story got! I literally needed a change of panties and a cold shower before I had gotten halfway through the book.
As I stated above, there really are more reasons to read Incognito and I have just touched on a few important ones to me. If you are like me and just finding Siobhan Davis, don’t pass up your chance to read this story. I already one-clicked several more titles by the author just based on my love of this book. If you are a longtime fan of Siobhan then you know that everything I wrote about in this review is already true. As a matter of fact, I am surprised you even read the reviews 😉 but regardless, don’t miss Incognito!
Shawn/Levi and Dakota both have their own complicated baggage. One a celebrity lost in the razzle dazzle of fame and fortune, and paying the price of his career in more ways than one. Now in hiding, he’s drawn to the mysterious dancer who has her own painful past. The bond he finds with the beautiful dancer catalyzes his own journey- as he’s a man trying to reclaim his core, his essence, to reconnect to what brought him to his music, to what makes him a human, a man. But Dakota’s history is certainly complicated. Guilt, sadness, and grief weigh heavy, but she’s also a survivor, a fighter. And her connection with Levi is a lifeline.
The chemistry is this story is so powerful and rich- the layers of these characters, the depth of their draw to each other, the ways in which it both makes them feel at risk but also helps them heal. But secrets and Shawn’s TRUE life can create obstacles, particularly for a girl who is drowning at times in her own brokenness. FOrtunately, theirs is a love that can face a lot, and I loved watching their love blossom. Watching them fall is so beautiful, addictive, immersively emotional. And watching them fight for their HEA was a joy.
I simply adored this heartfelt story, and the narration is top notch. Ramona and Wen bring the right emotional tenor to the vocal performances, sweeping me away in this love story.
I also wished there was an actual song out of that song he wrote for her. If there is, please let me know. It sounds so so romantic n sweet.
This might actually beat, the most recent book i read from this author, for being my least favorite of this authors books. Still a good read but I wouldn't choose it as a recommendation book unless u just want to read all this authors book cause u love her writings so much.

“That hidden inside this shell of a person somewhere lies the real Dakota Gray.” - Dakota
For me, I feel the storyline of Incognito wasn't reminiscent to any of Siobhan Davis’ previous books. I find each standalone/series to always be unique, but just as addictive. As for Shawn, what better way to go incognito then surround yourself with people who would never expect to run into a famous singer around campus. Daisy may be his biggest fan, but she would never in a million years expect to meet Shawn, so it doesn't even enter her mind it could possibly be her celebrity crush when he seems familiar. The plot for this story is so simple, but also so creative and believable. It just shows how talented Siobhan Davis is.
“Because, for the last few years, I’ve lost all sight of the real Shawn Lucas.” - Shawn/Levi
We also get to say hello to well loved friends from Inseparable as Angelina and Devin pop up several times. I loved getting to see what they're up to now, and I'm so glad that Siobhan Davis allows Devin to show that possessive side of his when it comes Angelina. After reading Incognito, I immediately jumped into Inseparable so I could revisit the emotional roller-coaster ride Devin and Angelina take towards becoming the special couple they are now.
“Maybe we were meant to meet at this juncture in our lives. To be there for each other.” - Dakota
Dakota says the following about a song written by Shawn; “That was beautiful, and it conveyed so much emotion. Like it was sad and haunting and then heartwarming and uplifting at the same time. And definitely romantic.”. I feel this also says beautifully the journey this 5 star read takes you on. As with any of Siobhan Davis’ books, I can't recommend this one enough. And if this is your first book by this very talented author, then I can guarantee you'll become addicted and want to read every book she's written!
