Insatiable: A Small Town Friends to Lovers Romance (Cloverleigh Farms Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 13,505 ratings

I didn’t mean to see him naked--it was an accident.
It had to be, right?
Because Noah McCormick and I have never been anything more than friends. In all the years I’ve known him, he’s never once laid a finger on me. And even though he was a cute lifeguard at 16 and a hotter-than-hell sheriff’s deputy at 34, he's always been that protective guy I could trust to keep his hands to himself. I never wanted to mess with that.
Until I walked in on him getting out of the shower and saw his hard, muscular body totally bare and dripping wet. At that moment I never wanted to mess with anything so badly in my entire life.
I should have covered my eyes. Said I was sorry. At the very least, I could have handed him a towel.
After all, I was only in town for a few days, and he was just doing me a favor by escorting me to my sister’s wedding. It wasn’t a real date.
But I didn’t apologize. And he didn’t cover up.
(Talk about a hot mess.)
After all those years of being just friends, suddenly we’re insatiable.
He’s made it clear he’s not interested in romance. Which is fine with me because
I’ve got a plane ticket back to my real life at the end of the week.
It’s all in fun...or is it?

This swoony romance checks every box on my must-read list and shouldn’t be missed.
Insatiable is the third, standalone book in Melanie Harlow’s Cloverleigh Farms series, and it’s a friends-to-lovers romance with all the feels. Noah and Meg have been best friends for years, but their relationship changes when Meg returns home for her sister’s wedding after doing some soul-searching since breaking up with her boyfriend. She and Noah acknowledge and give in to their long-held attraction, but they now have to figure out if they’re friends with benefits or something so much more.ARC provided, but this review was voluntarily and honestly written.

4.5 “Twinkie” “seventeen years” “slay a dragon” “Sawyer” Kisses

Goodness gracious – does it get any better than the Sawyer Sisters?!?!? I mean…I know it doesn’t…this series is absolutely stealing my heart and I’m alllll about it! I love everything that Melanie is doing with these characters and I just cannot help but smile with every word I read. So Insatiable is the third book in the Cloverleigh Farms Series, each book is a complete standalone but the books do build on each other - like in Insatiable we get to see the wedding of Frannie and Mac, the couple from the first book, Irresistible . So while it’s not a complete deal breaker if you don’t read the other books from the series…but it definitely adds to the enjoyment IMHO if you have read Irresistible and Undeniable …plus they’re amazing books and I love these sisters to bits and want everyone to read and enjoy them!

Meg Sawyer…my little workaholic…I’m really proud of the journey and change that Meg went through in the course of Insatiable. It was good...I mean “all work and no play makes Meg a dull girl” and all that, but aside from that…she needed to find her person. I loved seeing her open up and realize things about herself that she had kind of pushed away or ignored for the sake of her career or becoming who she thought she wanted to. Having her come home, seeing her reconnect with Noah and her sisters, it was an eye opener…and I loved everything that it did for Meg. It not only made her happy but it gave her confidence and bravery and so many other things and I loved that all she had to do to experience that was to come home…

‘Don’t think about her. Don’t think about her. Don’t think about her.
But she was like gravity — no matter what I did, I couldn’t fight the physical pull of her. I was never going to win.’

Deputy Noah McCormick…could this man be anymore perfect?!?! Could he???? I haven’t done this in a while but darn it…Noah has earned a top ten list of all the absolutely amazing things about him!
1.) He’s a dedicated cop – and I love that it’s a family thing (his dad was the Sheriff)
2.) He’s a veteran – gotta love a man who served his country
3.) He’s a loving son – I loved his relationship with his mother
4.) He’s a great brother – seeing him pick on his pregnant sister made me laugh and help take care of his disabled twin brother warmed my heart
    5.) He’s a dog dad
    6.) He’s an amazing friend
7.) He’s TDH (tall, dark and handsome) – with the scruff and the arms and just yum!
8.) He’s got such a kind heart – the guy is a big ol’ softie!
    9.) He’s kinky! ;-)
10.) He’s a good guy - the guy doesn’t have a bad bone in his body and he really does like helping people and being there for the ones he loves.
I could probably go on for days listing all the amazing things about Noah...he’s just one of those guys. Does he have his faults? Absolutely…he’s not perfect – for example, he has a temper (something I can relate to) but I didn’t hold it against him. Because I understood what he was going through and where the anger was coming from. He’s truly a great guy and it was pretty much impossible to not love everything about him.

‘“Eff what I said I’m not afraid.” I looked down at her. “Are you?”
“No.” Her denim - clad legs twined around me and she lifted her lips to mine. “I want you. I want this. Please don’t stop.”
She didn’t have to tell me twice.’

Meg and Noah have my all time kryptonite – HISTORY!!!! I looooove a couple with history and Meg and Noah’s history goes back to when they were teenagers. It’s pure and amazing and the little brief bits we get of their past was everything I could have ever dreamed of – I wish we could have had more…even some flashbacks - gah! So I was already half in love with them before romance was even in the picture…I mean they’re basically besties, they don’t necessarily talk every day but they are staples in each other’s life. I love that they could go weeks without talking but it didn’t change the bond they had or the strength in their connection. Taking it to the next level was only natural…of course there is a little bit of fear mixed in, the possibility of ruining something that they treasure so much, but what good thing isn’t worth a little bit of risk – go big or go home! I did kind of wish they had had a little bit more time together, time for things to build – I get why it was a little quick for the purposes of the flow of the story, but a few extra days would have been nice. There was nothing not to love about Meg and Noah’s relationship…their chemistry was off the charts, you could clearly see how much they cared about each other and they just fit so perfectly…it was everything I ever needed.

‘We could kiss, we could touch, we could f___. We could make each other scratch and bite, sigh and moan. We could act out our fantasies, whisper dirty words in the dark, and make each other come all night long.
But we couldn’t love each other.
    Not like that.’

Melanie Harlow continues to make my heart explode with her amazing stories. There is a reason why Melanie is (and continues to remain) a must read author for me…because I can fully rely on her providing me with solid, good quality romances that just flat our make me happy. I know that sounds basic and simple…but sometimes it’s exactly what I need. Sometimes I want complicated…sometimes I want over the top angst…sometimes I want drama out the wazoo – and there is nothing wrong with any of that. But sometimes I just want good…well written…simple romance…with a lot of heart and amazing characters to fall in love with and that’s what Melanie gives me. Could it be classified as predictable? Sure…do I care? Nope. Do I care that it might get a tad cheesy at times – not at all…cause it doesn’t matter to me, I’m too far gone at that point. Melanie has always delivered characters that I fall hopelessly in love with and with each book she adds to the Cloverleigh Farms Series, I just fall more and more. I’m loving what she is doing with these sisters and I am seriously so excited to see what will come with the rest of the books.

“Oh, Noah.” I shivered, but I wasn’t cold anymore. “I did want you.”
“Let me tell you what I want.” He spoke quietly but forcefully. “I want the chance to make you happy. I want to be the only one you’ll ever love. And I will fight like h___ every single day of my life to deserve it.”
    “Really?”
“Really.” He pressed his lips to my forehead. “I love you, Meg. I want to be your hero again.”

The way everything fell together at the end was picture-perfect…so perfectly crafted for Meg and Noah and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face for one second. It was more than I could have hoped for and I loved it so much – even just thinking about it makes me wanna burst with happiness and rainbows and unicorns. I also love the lead in to the next book in the Cloverleigh Farms Series… Unbreakable ! It’s the oldest daughter’s turn – Sylvia and we got a brief glimpse at Henry and I’m so ready for these two to get their HEA! They definitely deserve it…especially Sylvia. #TakeMeBackToCloverleighFarms

So... I liked Meg and Noah's story more than Chloe and Oliver's (because I really couldn't stand Oliver), but not as much as Frannie and Mac's (they are the real MVP's of this series so far, but if and when Sylvia gets a book, I can see her HEA giving them a run for their money). I enjoyed the friends-to-lovers trope of Insatiable and the fact that it's also sort of a second chance as well. The backdrop of Frannie's wedding, having all the Sawyer sisters together for the first time on page, Noah's family (his niece had me cracking up on several occasions), and meeting Meg as she goes through a breakup all served to make Insatiable an enjoyable and memorable book. I'm a big fan of this series and can't wait to see what Melanie Harlow does with the last two sisters and maybe even Henry DeSantis, the winemaker at Cloverleigh! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

“So you’re not here to steal anything?” I asked.
    “No.”
“Were you planning to vandalize the property?”
“No.” She lowered her chin, but finally met my eyes. “I’m more interested in bodily harm.”
    ......................................................

Do you have a lifelong BFF? Someone to whom you can say anything, and they will support you without judgment? That's Meg & Noah.

From the time he saved her from a near drowning when they were both 16 until now, they've always been each other's closest friend and confidante. They had the rare moment or two when they each thought "What if this was more?" but it just never happened. Through his service in the USMC and subsequent career in law enforcement, and her higher education, law school, and moving to Washington DC to make a difference in the world, they've just always been there for each other. They've always loved one another - they just never took that step that might risk a lifelong friendship.

After Meg's most recent relationship ended (and she'd stuffed herself with way too many twinkies), she went home to Cloverleigh Farms for Frannie & Mack's wedding (Irresistible, READ IT).

Noah is riddled with self-induced guilt because his twin brother was born with CP. He's not planning to ever get married or have children because he thinks taking care of his widowed mother and his brother is his responsibility - although (spoiler alert) his brother is brilliant, has a job, and is hoping to live independently sooner rather than later.

Meg offers up a friends with benefits situation to Noah, since she's only going to be home for a week. But the chemistry is off the charts, and it doesn't take more than a few days before she is thinking about making all kinds of changes so this can last forever. Getting Noah on board with that plan looks to be impossible.

This is a sweet, hot, friends to lovers story that I will definitely be reading again.

I am really enjoying the Sawyer sisters and Cloverleigh Farms.

This book was amazing! I get the best kind of feelings from Melanie's books and this one was no different. They make me happy and keep me wanting more. I loved Meg and Noah together, they have this bond that everyone should envy. It was an easy relationship for them, they just clicked and I enjoyed every minute of their friendship turned into something more. My heart felt everything when things didn't go as planned and it was an emotional ride wondering how everything was going to go. I absolutely adored this book and all of it's characters! I can't wait to read Sylvia's story in Unbreakable!

Another Cloverleigh winner. I loved Noah and Meg. Their friendly banter and care for each other was heartwarming and enjoyable to read. Everyone needs a friendship like that one. It was great to visit with the other sisters and to get the continuation of Frankie and Mack with their wedding. The dialogue and interactions between all the siblings was fun, real and made me want to stay in this world for longer.
