Inside Out (Road to Blissville, #6) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 1,074 ratings

Romeo Bradly and Julius Shepherd moved to Blissville for the same reason: a fresh start. Romeo was looking for a school district where he could make a real impact in the lives of students and faculty, and Julius was eager to teach one of his passions to the best and brightest at a school with a nationally ranked science program. But the sleepy little town offered them much more than they’d bargained for—quirky people, unlikely friendships, and an all-consuming attraction that turns them inside out.

When unexpected circumstances threaten to cancel the school play, Romeo’s theater background and Julius’s musical expertise make them the perfect pair to save the day. Working together so closely makes it harder for the men to ignore their growing feelings. After all, the heart knows what it wants and doesn’t care about age gaps, race, or professional conflict of interest. Romeo and Julius will learn that they have far more in common than they realize, and their differences will make them stronger if they give love a chance.

Their commitment to each other and the play will be tested when outside forces target them as a couple and exert pressure to cancel the production. Romeo and Julius vow to prove their love can conquer any challenge and will burn strong well beyond the curtain call.

Inside Out is a whimsical, May/December romance featuring a man learning to love again and a man falling in love for the first time. It is the sixth book in the Road to Blissville series and can be read as a standalone book or part of the series. This book contains sexually explicit material and is intended for adults 18 and older.

Happily ever after is the way I want the books I buy to end. This is a book about a wonderful love story. This is book #6 in the ROAD TO BLISSVILLE series. It can be read COMPLETELY as a stand-alone. In this book we meet Rome, he is the new superintendent of schools. A silver fox with a caring and compassionate heart. A man who wants the best for his new school system and the new community he has moved into. Next is Julius Shepherd, the new science teacher and musical genius. Jules transfer to Blissville was a change he felt he needed after too much big city life. Blissville is a small town with big characters. Rome and Jules had met through the hiring process. When they both move to town to pursue their careers, the sparks fly in a beautiful shower. This story is packed full of discovery, lots of laughs and a melting HOT relationship. Supporting characters are hilarious. This is a beautiful, funny love story with substance and a terrific EPILOGUE. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS INCREDIBLE SERIES!!!!!

Rome (Romeo) is starting his new job when he meets a man that sparks his interest. He’s several years older and thinks that the younger man is out of his league. Jules (Julius) feels the same sparks. He’s not sure if the older man would be interested in him. When they realize that they have the same feelings, they decide to explore the attraction to each other in every way possible.

This is the best kind of sappy love story. These guys were right together from the beginning. Exactly what I wanted to read today. Minimum angst, May-December, interesting side characters, and a school musical. What more do you need for a feel good kind of book? Stands by itself, although the other books in the series are nice too. This author didn’t disappoint with this one.

    4.5 Stars!!

This book was exactly what I needed with the "after holiday blues". Super sweet, super sexy and super story! I wish I lived in Blissville because I can totally see me sitting in the Brew and watching everything happening around me.

Romeo and Julius were perfect, as well as the secondary characters. I love the slow burn with these two and the May/Dec romance was written so well. The premise of the story was wonderful and was enjoyed until the very end. My only complaint was that I thought the last couple of chapters were rushed. As mentioned, it was a slow burn, white hot towards the middle and then it was a rush to the finish. Maybe it's just me and I wanted more......not surprising as Aimee Nichole Walker is an immediate 1-click for me because she is that good.

This was a wonderful addition to the Blissville series. In fact, as soon as I finished this book I went back to re-read the "Curl Up and Dye" series. I missed Josh and Gabe in my life. I was hoping Josh would make an appearance, knowing the POS would just set him off! LOL

What a treat this was to read! As a retired education administrator, I was invested in Dr. Romeo "Rome" Bradley, the town's school superintendent, from the outset. And his growing relationship with the musically-talented star chemistry teacher Julius "Jules" Shepherd was a delight to witness. I felt as though I was right there with them from the first shy smile to the last big bow. The challenges they faced -- both internally as they struggled with doubt and fear, and externally as they fought against homophobia and intolerance -- and the way they overcame them, are supremely believable. How they went from hesitant to bold in their dealings with each other, from sweet first dates to hot sexy sleepovers, resonates with me in the best and most heartwarming ways. This book will definitely be a contender for my list of "Best M/M Romance Ever" stories. And it will most certainly be on my re-read list. Hallmark-worthy, kicked up a whole 'nother notch of spicy and sexy! Well done, Ms. Walker, well done!

Romeo is hired as the new Blissville Superintendent of schools. On the same day Julius is hired as a teacher in the excellent science program and he also volunteers as the tennis coach. Both men are dedicated professionals and happy to start fresh in a town as inclusive as Blissville. They also are attracted to each other on every level but hesitate to act on it each for his own reasons.
This book is a worthy addition to this wonderful series. Our author weaves a story with so many emotions that it's hard to keep up at times. The couple is superb and the kind of people I'd love to hang out with. Their clumsiness around each other leads to year inducing laughter. There's NOTHING missing from this book, every word's a gem.
I won't spoil the story because it's just THAT good.
Aimee has done it , again!!!💟💟
Read the chapter headings, they're priceless!!

Rome comes to Blissville to be the new superintendent at the same time Jules comes to be the new chemistry/tennis teacher. There's instant attraction and they spend lots of time together helping 3 seniors put together their play. They meet each others friends and family, move in together and fall in love. No angst, no obstacles, just smooth sailing. The only excitement is the bigot group POS that tries to prevent their play from being produced. This is a well written book without noted spelling, punctuation or grammar errors. The problem I had was it took 4 days to read it because there wasn't any good excitement to keep my attention. I felt like the two MC's were more friends with benefits. I didn't feel like they had any chemistry and the sex scenes were so short and tepid as to be boring. I'm a huge fan of Ms. Walker's and this is definitely an anomaly. Her other books are a lot better.

Very touching story about love. Romeo and Julius lol. Romeo is a widower and thinks he’s a bit old for Julius and Julius was worried about being in a relationship like his mother and fathers, a great love but conflicted by culture. Together they help some amazing kids at the school they work with and build a solid foundation for their relationship.

Jules and Rome is how I like these characters. Well done Aimee on writing a story that balances out negative vibes for both age gaps, homophobia and racism. Love is love and should be celebrated by how ever the individuals wish. Life is far too precious to go out of your way to be unkind. Well done to the love Jules and Rome cherish.

While this isn't my favourite book in the Road to Blissville series, it's still a good book. I liked the main characters, but I didn't adore them like I did the main characters in the rest of the series (particularly Lyric and Memphis in the previous one Smoke in the Mirror).
