Invisible Strings Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 798 ratings

Magnetic as the Sun

Jimmy Alsop, a vivacious journalist, longs to trade his sheltered life for a summer of adventure but lacks the confidence to launch his stellar plan.

Lonely as the Moon

Nova Skye, an aloof scientist, wants to resuscitate his dead love life but hasn’t found the right man to kickstart his guarded heart.

Eclipse of the Heart

Sparks fly when a chance encounter drops Jimmy and Nova into the same orbit. Though their approach to life and love couldn’t be more different, they’re inexplicably drawn together as if connected by an invisible string. With nothing to lose but their inhibitions, Jimmy and Nova embark on an epic adventure of discovery. Passions soar with the sultry Savannah temperatures, and soon, their carefree summer becomes something more profound and beautiful than either man bargained for. But are the ties that bind sturdy enough to withstand a lifetime, or will they fray after a season?

Invisible Strings is a standalone novel within the Sinister in Savannah universe. Jimmy was introduced in Mr. Perfect, but it is not necessary to read that book first. Invisible Strings is a contemporary romance, where the other Savannah books are romantic suspense. We have heat, humor, and heart, but there are no homicides in this book, y’all. Invisible Strings contains mature content and is intended for adults eighteen and older.

Walker can weave a story, which is why I come back to her work again and again even though I’m not a fan of romantic suspense, where she usually writes. This novel, a straight (well, gay) romance, is woven beautifully with a lot of angst from the age difference on the part of Nova, the older MC, the fact that he’s never been in a relationship from Jimmy, and meddling from all of Nova’s family members (his parents, his ex-husband, his daughter…). I’d seen Jimmy before in one of the Sinister in Savannah novels as Felix’s protege, so he is not a new character. This novel just showed that resistance is futile.

Wow….such a sweet book with a great storyline. Nova and Jimmy are great but Millie steals the show. I really wish this book had been longer. I wanted more about Nova’s job. The relationship between him and his mom needed to be explored more. I wanted more of that family dynamic. She is a great character!! The interview that jimmy did with Nova and his mom was kind of left hanging. I wanted to know more about them, but I really did enjoyed it!

This was the first book I ever read by the talented Aimee Nicole Walker!! The title caught my attention and her words drew me in. I love this idea of invisible strings connecting soulmates together. That very idea is the reason I love romance novels so much. I love reading about souls deep connections and forever kind of love. I loved Nova & Jimmy’s story so so much!!

OMG! This book is so good! I love Aimee Nicole Walker’s books and she is an automatic buy for me when she comes out with a new story. I also love the Savannah she has created with Royce and Sawyer and our boys from Sinister in Savannah. This book is related because Jimmy works with Felix. That is really the only tie to these other books because this is a romance and not a mystery. Jimmy and Nova have instant attraction and are connected by invisible thread that tie them together from the start. This book is absolutely amazing and I loved every page! And little Millie is quite the scene stealer. I also found the relationship Nova still has with his ex, Scott, refreshing. They are still friends and are coparenting their little spitfire amicably. I highly recommend this book!!

Two completely different MC's stumble upon each other and somehow get to bond through a summer of excitement and fun.

Jimmy is a precocious journalist always looking for stories, Nova is a quiet scientist with a precocious six-year-old daughter who basically steals the show whenever she shows up. Jimmy's mother and grandmother and Nova's ex-husband who is almost married to another man now, toss enough of their personalities and mini plot lines to feed a genuinely wonderful romance with lots of chuckles along the way.

    Wonderful.

I felt like there was three different books in this one. A little too much going on all over the place and Jimmy's personality shift from someone needing confidence coaching to lively and adventurous was too sudden.
Technically quality writing but didn't feel this one. Other books have been better.

What a wholesome read this was. Couldn't tuck my smile away the entire time. Funny, romantic, cute and just sunshine. There's no angst here but it's not a simple read either.
Jimmy & Nova's summer adventure kept me hooked and made me want to make one of my own. It was quite the meaningful read too, because I was reminded, how it's never too late to start living.

A very sweet read with low angst. Nova and his extremely cute daughter Millie June Bug are just gorgeous and his family are beautiful too. Jimmy has a few things to work through, but he’s an old soul with a beautiful nature and a perfect match to Nova. I would have liked Nigel to get his comeuppance. This is a lovely read with a HEA. 😍📖❤️

I wanted to give this a full 5 stars. I adored all of the characters, seriously everyone had such different lively personalities and they all took their place in my heart.

My only problem is how the author displayed Nova’s Tourettes. I dont have any first or second hand experience of it so its just an opinion from a reader. Anyway, I would think his Tourettes would have a bigger impact on his life? Im aware its a spectrum and Nova falls somewhere on the milder side but it could have made more of an appearance than just shaking hands. Outside stimuli would have triggered something more? Maybe Im wrong but I felt like there could have been more tics and the impact of Tourette’s on Nova could have been a bigger part of his character. I feel like if he didnt have Tourettes his character wouldnt have been any different and thats where I feel the author fell short because his character should be different without it.

Anywaayyy, rant over. Please read the book, it is so sweet and Aimee Nicole Walker is a brilliant author. I have enjoyed many other books by her and you should too.
