Izzy As Is Kindle Edition
The party is over for bikini model Izzy Alvarez. For six years she’s made a good living by flaunting her God-given assets on runways and in front of cameras, but now as she approaches the big 3-0, the bodacious Latina is shocked to learn she’s aged out of the profession that’s kept her in mojitos, mani/pedis, and designer thongs. What’s a girl with a taste for the finer things in life and no marketable skills to do?
Getting a regular job is too boring to even consider, so Izzy decides to follow in the footsteps of her newly-engaged frenemy and become a trophy wife. Although she’s desperate and too broke to get a chipped nail fixed, Izzy still has standards for her future husband, which means no uggos, no vertically-challenged guys, and no geezers who need to pop a blue pill to perform in the bedroom. Enlisting the aid of her computer whiz nephew and her closest pals, Izzy goes on the prowl for a rich, marriage-minded man, encountering likely candidates in a lot of unlikely places.
The high life she’s dreamed of may be within reach when Izzy meets a charming, successful man who’s not only hotter than a steamy summer night in Miami, but ready to settle down. Now all Izzy has to do is make sure her loud, crazy Cuban family doesn’t scare off el hombre perfecto—oh, yeah, and squelch those pesky, romantic feelings she keeps having for the sweet, cash-strapped guy she's known forever.
Will Izzy’s hunger for money win out, or will her fiery heart demand to be heard?

About the author

An avid reader and writer, Tracie Banister has been scribbling stories since she was a child, most of them featuring feisty heroines with complicated love lives like her favorite fictional protagonist Scarlett O'Hara. Her work was first seen on the stage of her elementary school, where her 4th grade class performed an original holiday play she penned. (Like all good divas-in-the-making, she also starred in and tried to direct the production.)

- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2018I've been waiting for this book (it's not a sequel but a revisitation of the Alvarez family, introduced in IN NEED OF THERAPY, through the eyes of a different heroine), and I was thrilled with the result. IZZY AS IS has it all—comedy, romance, and just the right amount of spicy sex! And the language—English and Spanish—is so fun, fresh, and clever. I'd particularly like to give a shout out to the title. Not only is it catchy, but it perfectly captures the heroine. Izzy isn't the typical female protagonist. She's a vain, promiscuous gold digger, and I ADORE her for it because I'm tired of reading about the same woman over and over again in every book. But don't be too quick to write Izzy off because she's also spunky, sassy, and full of surprises. And the beauty you see on her hot smokin' Latina exterior is also what you find on the inside.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2018My Review of “Izzy As Is” by Tracie Banister
Tracie Banister , Author of “Izzy As Is” has written a witty, humorous, sexy, and enjoyable novel. The Genres for this story are Chick Lit, and Women’s Fiction. The author describes her colorful cast of characters as quirky, dysfunctional, complex and complicated.
The star of our story is Izzy Alvarez. Izzy has been a successful bikini model, and I am quite envious that she is able to eat anything in sight and not gain an ounce. When I first met Izzy, she seemed very shallow. vain, and used to living a very expensive life. When I met the rest of her family, I just held my head. . It sort of reminds me of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”. Each member of the Alvarez family has a unique personality. Izzy really is very loyal and enterprising for her family and friends. Izzy just does things in her way.
Problems occur, when Izzy who will be 30 has aged out of her career. She is too old to model in bikinis. What can she do? One thing that has crossed her mind is to find a wealthy husband. With the help of her teenage nephew who is a computer genius, Izzy has great plans to accomplish these goals. What is it that Izzy really wants? Will Izzy get her happily ever after?
I would recommend this enjoyable novel to those that enjoy a fun, and lighthearted story that will make you laugh out loud. Happy Reading !!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2018This book was a riot and a half. Izzy isn't your typical chick lit character in that she's not lacking confidence or trying to lose weight, or waiting for a man to rescue her (well, possibly that last one...but not in the way most people think). She was a breath of fresh air and just about every word out of her mouth had me chortling in amusement. I loved coasting along in her husband-hunting journey and watching her discover what she truly wanted out of life along the way. The family drama was hilarious. The romance-angsty stuff was delicious. The dialogue was witty, snappy, and never ever stilted. And, although I was 100% amused by Izzy's antics from page one, I didn't think I'd actually grow to love and adore her. I was SO wrong. If you're looking for a sweet story about a wallflower or shrinking violet finally getting her happy ending, look elsewhere, but if you're looking for a spicy, sassy, sexy read about a woman who takes the world by the balls and squeezes hard, this is the book for you.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2018Oh my gosh! I loved this book and I want to be Izzy's BFF. She's a hoot—so carefree and not really caring what people think. She's so funny and would be loads of fun to hang out with. And she definitely goes after what she wants!
Izzy gets some bad news from her agent. She has evidently 'aged out' of her modeling gigs. She's 29 and a has-been. Really? Well then, she just needs to find herself a hunk of a man, one with lots of money, so she can continue to live in the manner she's accustomed to. After consulting with her young nephew, who devises a plan to find that perfect man, she has some hilarious adventures as she works her way through the list of potential husbands.
We first met Izzy in Tracie's previous novel, In Need of Therapy, which is the first book of Tracie's that I read. Izzy was a bit of a side character in that book but she obviously was someone who wanted her story told. And can I just mention her family? What a crazy bunch, they made me LOL!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2018Although Izzy is a beautiful, curvy and sweet woman, she is broke and a dismal failure as a model. So she decides to find a rich, young man to marry. Between her "crazy" dates and her outrageous family, Izzy is just floundering through life. Most women dream of the three magic words, "I love you", as the ultimate goal in a relationship. Not gold-digger Izzy! Her three magic words are "Quit your job!" Then she meets Eduardo Sandoval CEO of his family's business. Yes this relationship will pay her bills, give her a mansion, diamonds and furs, but what about "true love?" And more important, what about Zane? This story is a great reminder to open your eyes, and your mind because everything you want and need is probably standing right in front of you!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2018Izzy is a Cuban American model living the fabulous fast paced life in Miami except she gets suddenly pushed into the slow lane when her agent tells her that she is pretty much washed up as a model at 29! Of course sleeping with her married co-star during her last big gig certainly didn’t win her any call -backs! Izzy takes matters into her own hands and using her genius 11 yr old nephew and his computer skills decides to find herself a sugar daddy to keep her bank account flowing and maintain the high maintenance lifestyle she has become accustomed to - except maybe Izzy doesn’t really need all of that to make her happy... maybe happiness has been right in front of her for the last four years! I loved Izzy’s big crazy family and could immediately cast her sisters with Tracie Banister’s bold descriptions! This book would be a great addition to any spring break beach bag!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Deliciously Fun Page-Turner!
5 huge stars for Izzy! Never before has such a sassy, self-centered character managed to worm her way into my heart. Tracie Banister is a master at making you root for the most unlikely characters. Izzy isn't your typical romcom herione - she's got buckets of confidence and snark to spare. Her transformation through the story feels real and likely as she finds her HEA with her loveable, sexy hero (who shall remain nameless so I don't spoil anything). As a big bonus, I got to see more of Pilar and Ford from In Need of Therapy. Well done, Ms. Banister! I can't wait to see what you have coming next! - Melanie Summers, Author of The Royal Treatment

4.0 out of 5 stars Pure fun!
I'll admit I was a bit skeptical at first - as other reviewers have noted, Izzy is not your typical chick-lit heroine (to put it mildly). But as the story progressed, she grew on me, and I thoroughly enjoyed her shenanigans and all the family drama the Alvarez clan brought to the table.
I loved how Izzy's adventure played out in the end - and now that I have seen glimpses of Pilar's HEA, I need to read her story, too!

3.0 out of 5 stars ... by Tracie Banister and this book is your typical easy read chick lit story and it should be enjoyed ...
This is the first book I have read by Tracie Banister and this book is your typical easy read chick lit story and it should be enjoyed while sunbathing round a swimming pool in a warm location!
This book is all about Izzy Alvarez who is nearing 30 years of age and a bikini model. I couldn't stand Izzy unfortunately she was very self centred and she kept making stupid decisions which made me have to stop reading just to calm myself down.. If I could climb into the book and slap her I would have!
Izzy knows nothing but modelling, so after being told that she was nearing the age where modelling jobs were passing her by to younger models she decides to find herself a rich husband to keep herself in designer clothes and spa treatments. Here starts the bad decisions... and breathe..!
I did laugh at some of the dates she went on, they were just disasters straight from the start but she was determined to find her new (rich) husband.
She soon meets Eduardo who is very charming, good looking and of course well off, things between them do seem great to begin with however as the days past I noticed that their relationship wasn't working out and all the money in the world wouldn't solve a relationship when love is not involved. Here I came to see that maybe money isn't everything to Izzy and that having companionship with someone you love would be more important.
Although Izzy was outspoken and feisty she did have a heart of gold and this was displayed a lot with her family and friends. The whole family came across as being really close especially Izzy and her sister Pilar, I did like to see this side of Izzy especially when she helped to arrange her nieces birthday party.
I see that Pilar has her own story and although I will now know the end of the story I am interested in reading Tracie's other books to understand the family and to find more on Izzy through someone else's perspective.
