She was also a media agent representing celebrity chefs. When she finally glued her rear to a chair and began to write, the words flowed, and several novels later, she gained many bestseller badges for her books.
Her popular bestseller, The Cruise, is described as ‘Girl power for the over-sixties! ' Caroline's next hilarious novel about having fun being young at sea is The Cruise Club, which will be published in the summer of 2025.
Caroline’s hilarious novels include The French Cookery School, The Spa Break, and The Best Boomerville Hotel, which is depicted as ‘Britain’s answer to the Best Marigold Hotel’.
She likes to write in Venus, her holiday home on wheels, and in her spare time, she walks with Fred, her Westie, or swims in a local lake. - Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2023Zach Docherty is a popular chef known as the Romany Gypsy Chef who broke off his engagement to Poppy Dunlop. Zach’s mother Jo ran the hotel Boomerville with her friend Hatie and Zach was the chef. Zach’s agent signs had signed him up to compete in a reality cooking competition show in the Australian jungle. Zach meets model Cleo Petra and the fans go crazy. While Poppy goes to Disney she is assaulted by a chef. I really enjoyed this funny comedy romance novel.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2024Very superficial, none of the main characters were more than an outline of a character. It wasn't truly bad, but with some details filled in to make them seem like actual people, it could've been a lot better.
From the blurb describing the story, I expected Survivor with a twist. So, not celebrities surviving in the jungle.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2018Start with a celebrity chef, an angry ex-fiancee, a reality show half way around the world. Throw in a family owned hotel. Follow along with the workings of a reality show in an Australian jungle and a celebrity cook off at Disney World. Put it all together and find out it the chef and the fiance get back together.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2017Zach was a celebrity chief with an engagement to the love of his life--Poppy. Zach's mom ran a B&B with her best friend. Zach's handler just broke up with his boyfriend and now he wanted Zach to go into the Jungle and win a competition and Poppy was at Disney trying to fend off sexual advances from another chef. Who is going to win in this story. I recommend this story if you need a short read--took about an hour.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fast, easy read
A fast, easy read with a 'tongue in cheek' humour, Jungle Rock has a tender, if slightly old-fashioned charm which delivers a 'fuzzy feel'.
Not a fan of "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here", I did enjoy the frequent glimpses of 'the jungle' and Zach's progress in the trials, from a distance - a gentle send up of this popular show. It was also very comical to see how Zach's ex-fiancé was faring on the other side of the world, as she chaperoned an arrogant chef taking part in the incongruous Disney-Gourmet cooking competition!
For me, some of the characters needed a bit more padding and the ending was nothing but predictable, however, this is a wholesome, holiday-style read that does what it says on the tin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely, light hearted and highly recommended
Another compelling story from Caroline James - this time set in the jungle.
I loved this story that was beautifully written, interspersing jungle life with hotel life. Zach is the perfect leading man and was a perfect foil for some of the comedic characters in the book. Caroline's descriptive narrative is perfection and you feel as though you're actually there. Another great read and highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it
I've had this sitting on my Kindle far too long. I love Carolines characters Jo and Hattie. Hattie is a joy to read and get to know, you just never know what shenanigans she will be up to next. We watch Jo's son Zach, celeb chef as he's a contestant on the jungle show, but learn that he's trying to recover his reputation after a few inappropriate pictures showed up in the press, affecting his reputation and loosing him his fiancee. Fun and games ensue as always at Bommerville .
