Indianapolis Eagles, Book 1
By: Samantha Lind
Narrated by: Tim Paige, Sarah Puckett
This is an enjoyable second chance romance, the storylines are original and held my attention from start to end. The characters are realistic and likable, they are easily to relate to. Scott Taylor is a professional hockey player, he plays for a team in Indianapolis but goes back to his hometown in Alaska every summer. Becca Philips was his first love, his only love and she has been on his mind wondering what ifs. Becca is an ER nurse in his hometown, Scott is her first love, she had to let him go when he became a professional hockey player, she did not want to compete with puck bunnies. He is back in town celebrating his Stanley cup win with the people in the town. When he sees Becca, he asks her to go out with him and she agrees. Their story is a sweet one, they find their love and attraction is still going strong and they want to get it right this time. I liked how their story plays out, there is not a lot of drama or angst just a sweet romance. I liked the camaraderie amongst the team members and how tight and supportive their friends and family are. Samantha Lind, thank you for this terrific story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Sarah Puckett and Tim Paige are wonderful narrators and talented voice artists. They bring the characters to live giving each their own voice and personality., their portrayal of the characters is spot on. You could hear how much heart they but into their work as they capture and project the characters emotions into their performance. The are entertaining storytellers and always a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

- Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2017Just Say Yes by Samantha Lind is a second chance at romance story and the first book in her Indianapolis Eagles series. This is my first book by the author and I truly enjoyed it. It was so sweet and charming with two very likable characters!
Becca Phillips broke up with the love of her life when he was drafted to play for the Eagles. She loved him, but for reasons she later regretted, she let him go. Years later she still longs for Scott, but has avoided him for years whenever he comes home. Eight years ago she was insecure, but now she is stronger and older.
Scott Taylor was brokenhearted when Becca broke up with him. He loved her and could not understand why. Years later, he still loves her. Back home to celebrate winning the championship, this time around he is determined to get her back in his life. I loved Scott! He was so sweet and caring. It was refreshing to see!
Though Scott and Becca have been separated for years, it was so sweet watching them reconnect again. But some of the reasons she let him go are still there. Can they find a way through them or is it really too late?
This story was so sweet, romantic and charming. I had a smile on my face for most of the story! I always love it when I find new authors to read! I truly enjoyed Just Say Yes and am already looking forward to the next book in this series.
Happy reading!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2020I actually had a hard time rating this book. It’s definitely a second chance romance but the main characters get back together at the beginning of the book and then proceed to eat meals, hang out, have lots of sexy times and talk on the phone until about the 75% mark of the book. Lots of reviews describe the book as “sweet”, and it is but it’s also pretty boring. Written in dual first person POV, both main characters are fairly one-dimensional - they’re both good people who love their jobs. No demons. No obstacles to overcome. The sexy times are plentiful but boring as they don’t really escalate throughout the book. There’s no humor but I didn’t expect there to be. I’ve never read anything else by this author and I’m not opposed to reading book 2 of this series but I’ll wait until the price comes down (I purchased this book for $1) or it’s added to KU.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2019Becca and Scott grew up on the same street in Alaska, fell in love, then broke up as Scott moved on to the NHL in Indianapolis. Every summer Scott returns to Alaska to unwind after his year of professional hockey, and every summer Becca avoids seeing Scott. Becca works 12 hour shifts in the local ER, and makes sure she is not wherever Scott is after turning him loose 8 years ago. This year, Scott brings home the Stanley Cup to show off to his hometown for a day. Becca avoids the ceremony and program, but runs into him afterward when she and Kinley finish their run. Scott is elated to see her, and Becca feels her heart beating faster. They agree to go out to dinner, and the rest as they say is history. Their history brings them back together seamlessly. Each must make concessions, but especially Becca who decides to leave Alaska and join Scott in Indianapolis for this next hockey season. After only a minor glitch involving an accident on the ice during a game, they are there for each other for a lifetime. It was a lovely story.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2024I enjoyed reading this sweet second chance love story by Samantha. A beautiful book about childhood sweethearts reconnecting after 8 years. I do love a hockey romance and this one didn’t disappoint.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2021I love this book. They actually communicate and there is some drama without unnecessary emotional drama and misunderstandings. It's a great introduction to a series, introducing the characters, the setting , and the culture of the team and their ladies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Their Inevitable Reunion
This was a beautifully written, swoon worthy, second chance romance, where the each page turn took me on a journey where the characters tried to rekindle a love that never went away and navigate the trials of their daily lives, so they could finally get their happily ever after. I was hooked on the story from first page until the final word, which meant I found it difficult to take a break, until I finished reading the book. The author did an outstanding job writing this book in my opinion and it has left me looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I just finished the Shockwaves series and absolutely loved it and wanted to read more from this author so I started this. I absolutely love Samantha's writing. Becca & Scott are so cute and no third act break up. Cute story however I would've liked more push back for them to get together but enjoyed it none the less. Can't wait to read the rest of the series

2.0 out of 5 stars Good bones
Overall this book is ok.
There's nothing to really like or dislike about either main character.
The storyline again nothing special and it's been done hundreds of times, but with a bit of work it could be a really sweet love story.
For me sadly it just doesn't have enough umfff. There's no drama or anything that makes these characters stand out. They're just average people.
