Misconception: A Rock Star Romance (Unrequited Series Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 1,028 ratings

I know rock stars. I grew up in the business, and now I make a living managing their tours. I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Lots and lots of ugly.

All that ugly is why I’ve sworn off dating rockers, but sleeping with them, well...I’ve been known to make the occasional exception.

One sultry night in Vegas, Mo Aronson, lead singer of Unrequited, becomes one of those exceptions. We dance, we connect, we...get married.

That wasn’t in the cards. And the positive pregnancy test a few weeks later really wasn’t in the cards.

Despite the shock, I think I can handle becoming a mom. What I’m not sure I can handle is the younger, bad boy rocker who won’t back down no matter how many times I push him away.

Julia Wolf writes sexy rockers, grumpy billionaires, snarky heroines, and bad ass women. She’s a firm believer in happily ever afters, no matter how rocky the road is to get there.

She doesn’t believe in “guilty pleasures”, only pleasure. Reading about a plus size woman who gets absolutely railed by a hot rock star is pleasure. Reading about a damaged college student whose flaws are valued and loved by the grumpy guy next door is pleasure. Reading about love in a small town or big city or on a tour bus is pleasure. Reading romance is pleasure!

Julia lives in Maryland with her husband and three crazy, beautiful children. When she’s not writing romance, she’s reading it. Some of her favorite things are, in no particular order: goats, books, coffee, and Target.

This is the first book I've read from this author and I must say I am totally surprised. I am surprised that it kept my attention and made me feel different emotions as I read it. Julia Wolf did a great job
With this interracial story that I would highly suggest she write more interracial stories. She did a great job at developing the characters that made sense together and showing their vulnerability in the relationship. I love Moses because he didn't mind the fact that he wore his heart on his sleeve and he knew what he wanted instantly. I liked Michaela because she was brave enough to confront her fears and stay in the relationship with Mo. The two of them were so believable that you didn't want the story to end. I'm glad Julia didn't concentrate on the age difference to much and that Michaela was just feeling old in general. I like how the baby was real between the two of them and Michaela acted like a pregnant woman. I loved the family and friends and how they were important to Mo and Michaela but they weren't overbearing and too involved in their relationship. This is a different kind of love story that's sweet and refreshing. I know that I will be reading this story again whenever I'm in the mood for real sweet story about love and life changes. Well done Julia.

The book had relatable characters. You want to get to know them and their struggles.
You certainly want them to have their HEA. She is a homebody and he is a extroverted party boy. Neither can be totally comfortable until they find each other. That itself makes a good read.
Two, maybe three points worth mentioning. Mic's job was demanding and dominated by men, there was no way her race wouldn't factor into her stress like her gender would be and mentioning that would have been-real.
The age gap was just not that significant and was too heavily emphasized.
And the last is the cover, it is not as strong as the book and they don't look as described at all. Him more than her, doesn't fit Rock Star front man energy.

Best real book. Michaels and Moses were down to earth characters in a rock star world of consequences that goes with popularity. Michaela was divorced from a rock star and vowed never to be with one again. Moses was floating through life on an raft with no love destination but just to have sex and fun.
Having met at a bar, realizing they had known each other, they reconnected on the drunken night in Vegas and the stars aligned, they threw consciences to the wind and got married. That act produced a daughter nine months later but prior to that a bunch of consequences as well.
THIS IS AN ADDED STATEMENT AFTER MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: Just wanted to add that, to me, there was a contradiction in terms regarding what happened in the bathroom at the party that Michaela walked into. Moses said "That was the first time I'd kissed or TOUCHED anyone since you left my bed. I haven't been with anyone else since, despite appearances. Stupid and high that night but I was also pissed at you and gave in to the childish need to make your jealous. But you are my wife Michaela. I take that very seriously". Really!!! He was with another woman, in the bathroom, kissing and having sex to make her jealous. He was doing what he wanted and to H--l with the consequences! Michaela, being older, must have seen his immature actions and forgave him. I'm not sure I would have.

I debated for a few seconds on the rate but I think I made a great decision. I truly enjoyed this multiracial, rock star romance. Mo was absolutely incredible and adorable, of course he was a little lost sometimes, but his heart was in the right place. Michaela was older, but just as lost as Mo, and she's very powerful and strong. I truly saw myself in here. She's stubborn and doesn't like to show her feelings, but she gets there slowly. The two together were a perfect combination because I don't think anyone else would have been so patient as Mo was. I loved the epilogue too! It was sweet but it summarize the learning they went through to get to the place they are now in their love life.

I didn't see the age difference between these two characters. For there to be a 6 yr difference, Mic acted more like she was the 26 year old. This story makes you wonder if they will ever truly make it. A whole bunch of growing up on both parties needs to happen before that can be a reality

Overall, I loved the story! The sex scenes were steamy and Mic and Mo gave me straight butterflies with their loveu dovey moments. BUT, the issue of the age gape started to become annoying. Mic acted as if she was a grandmother dating a teen. Seriously? 34 isn't old...so says this 34 yr old. And Mo was in his mid-20s. 26 if memory serves....so what? My parents have a similar age gap with my mom being older than my dad. No one has ever said anything about their ages EVER. Most of the time,, they think my mom is younger. The fact that Mic kept bringing it up had me rolling my eyes so hard that I thought they would get stuck that way. Poor Mo...I realize that he made mistakes but a majority of their issues was all Mic all the way.

Yooo! This book was everything. I love rock star romances and interracial stories. To have both rolled into a burrito that’s actually very well written and funny to boot just made my weekend! Michaelas mother gabby was probably my favorite character. I’m interested in the parents relationship tbh and my kindle would be smoking with how fast I would read the story of Lars,Astrid, and Gabby. I didn’t start the series from the beginning so I’m excited to read more of your work.

I am so glad MO gets a story and his hea. His counterpart is also a familiar face! These two take a while to learn to communicate with one another but it is a sweet and steamy ride amongst the frustration.

Mo and Michaela, what a story!!!
I absolutely love when the playboy falls and he falls hard, and that's exactly what happened with Mo.

A night of drinking, dancing and telling truths leads Mo and Michaela to a shiny Chapel in Vegas to Mo this was everything but yo Michaela she had been hurt too bad in the past to believe this could be real.

3 months later, and 2 positive pregnancy tests later, that pair are bound to each other forever.

This book has it all parts are so funny and fun, but at the same time, there are some serious lows that made me just want to bash their heads together and give them a big hug.

My favourite part that I think I might always remember as a b9ok highlight is...... Tell me a truth? I love this, and honestly, the simplicity in it makes it even more beautiful.

Stunning book, and couple can't wait to see what happens next.

    I’d probably give this 3.5 ⭐️ if I could.

Michaela, or Mickey as she is known at work, is a tour manager for musicians. Several years earlier she worked on a tour where Unrequited was the supporting act and the young lead singer, Mo, flirted with her and she laughed off his attentions as being a joke. But when she ran into him in a bar in Las Vegas he wasn’t as young, and she’d had a couple of drinks and he was fun to hang out with. One thing lead to another and they spent the night together.

Michaela had been burnt before by rocker boys and had a nice shiny divorce to prove it. She didn’t expect to be taking anything home from her reckless one night stand but it turns out her body had other ideas.

Michaela 8 years older than Mo, she is prickly, hard working, and afraid to commit. Mo is flirty, attractive, a bit of a slut and has a massive heart. This book tells the story of their ups and downs as they try to negotiate a relationship based on the results of one night together.

I enjoyed the book but wanted to slap their heads together a few times. Michaela didn’t convey her feelings enough and Mo got wound up to easily and was a bit inconsiderate. However, on the whole I enjoyed the book and was pleased to witness the HEA.
