Jason (7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes Book 2) Kindle Edition
JASON - Book Two
Jason Blackthorne wants to make films. As head of Blackthorne Entertainment, he’s finally getting his break – a gritty cop drama filmed near the family compound. He has a lot riding on the success of the series, both with family and the industry. He doesn’t have time to notice how pretty or talented his assistant is. He just needs her to jump when he says jump.
Mallory Price has tried acting, but what she really wants is to be behind the camera. She is a storyteller at heart and she knows she could direct a killer show. She has great ideas, and though Jason seems to hear her, he never sees her as anything but a Girl Friday.
But when an accident on set puts him flat on his back, and a mercurial director goes missing, Mallory steps in. Long nights at work and equal footing create sparks between Jason and Mallory. But when Jason is on his feet once again, and the director returns, has anything really changed between them? Or was it all just a dream?

- Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2019Jason by Julia London is the second book in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes. It was another amazing love story in the series. Jason Blackthorne is a film maker, and head of Blackthorne Entertainment and Mallory Price is a wannabe director who takes a job as Jason's assistant for the money. Mallory gets the job as Jason's assistant as his last assistant is walking out the door. Mallory's dream job is to be a director, and is hoping the job with Jason is the break she has been hoping for. Jason returns to King Harbor, Maine to film the second season of his television crime drama. Jason's current director, Cass is looking for a way out of his contract. He is a no show for meetings and filming and Mallory picks up the slack. Jason injures his back, so Mallory needs to play nurse and director. It was a great story, filled with bittersweet moments. Love the chemistry between Jason and Mallory, and the relationships between all the Blackthornes. It was a wonderful love story that I could not put down. Looking forward to reading Ross's story.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2019ason is book 2 about the Blackthorne family. I really liked this story! It was a fun, sweet and sexy contemporary romance that takes place when Jason, who runs a production company, is attempting to produce a second season of a criminal drama show and is in need of an assistant. He seems to scare them away fast. Jason's professional live has become a chaotic one. Luckily for him he hires Mallory who seems to have a magic wand and is able to stabilize his chaos. Mallory accepts the position to gain some experience and be closer to reaching her dream of becoming a director. It is during their time working together that they get to know each other, though at times it seems that Jason was completely lost without her skills. They fight their attraction towards each other but it was not easy because they compliment each other very well.
Great story and I want to know more about the Blackthornes and the women they fall in love with!
Thank you to the author/publisher for the ARC provided for an honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2020This series of 7 Blackthornes and their brides has strong, but individual personalities and wonderful character as each male deals with their search as where they fit in the Empire of the family. Each book can be read separately but leads into the next wonderfully.
Julia London and her fellow co-authors in this series, keeps you guessing at the secret of this powerful family. Strong but caring personalities that make you want to read all 7 books straight through.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2020Jason pursues his dreams of becoming a director instead of working in the family business. When a series of untimely disasters happen during the preparations and filming of the series, his new assistant Mallory, a wannabe director, takes over. Not sure of her competence, Jason does so reluctantly. But when he realizes just how good she is at her job, he now fears that he will lose her because of his incompetence! Great read!

- Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2019The second book in the Seven Brides for Seven Blackthornes focuses on the middle cousin Jason. Instead of joining the family business, Jason has gone into the entertainment indusctry and has become a show runner for a Netflix series.
Jason is smart but disorganized. He relies on his assistant Mallory to keep all the balls in the air. Mallory is a great assistant but she wan't to be a director. While working together on site in Maine, Jason comes to know more about Mallory and they give in to the magnetic pull that is between them.
They struggle with a sexual harrassment issue with the show's star, an uniterested director and the fact that Jason is Mallory's boss.
Both characters are smart and funny and just like a good TV series you want to see the 2 characters get together in the end.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2020Jason Blackthorne is a workaholic. He is trying to film a series and problems keep persisting. He can't seem to keep his personal assistants. Mallory Price is a greenhorn. She wants a job so bad in the film industry that she will do anything. Fortunately she gets Jason and his jumbled up brain. She can bring order to the chaos. Sparks are flying. They are both trying to ignore them but the sizzle is just to much. The cesspool of Hollywood is catching up. It is sink or swim. Oh what an ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2019I loved this unusual and interesting storyline. I love Jason and Mallory as a couple - on the surface they are totally mismatched, but in matters of the heart they're on a slow, steady boil. It makes you want to sigh with pleasure when you finally reach the last page and as with all of London's work a satisfying HEA is guaranteed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jason and Mallory💕
Jason is living his dream by owning his own entertainment company and producing quality shows😁 But he’s known for his disorganisation and needs someone yesterday! Mallory shows up for the interview and his life as he knows it, will never be the same😍
Mallory starts working for Jason as his assistant and organising his “chaos”. The closeness of their work eventually highlights the attraction and chemistry between them....but first Jason needs to stomp out all the fires surrounding their latest production dramas before they can decide what’s between them😢
A good story and now I’m keen to finish this series by reading Trey shortly❣️

2.0 out of 5 stars Not enough depth and body
The problem with such series is that there is no time for character building, too rushed, no actual story and no ending. There was a starting but the body lacked everything and end was ridiculously stupid.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars for Jason by Julia London
Another great read for this amazing series. Love the Blackthornes. There are so many characters. Love the storyline, but I especially love the way Mallory takes care of Jason, who reminds you of the absent professor. You can relate to Jason being the middle child and forgotten. I love Mallory's spunkiness and sassiness. Can't wait for the next installment of the Blacktorne Family.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable
This was good it didn't have phrases and things repeated constantly. Jason the overworked guy always doing something who lived in chaos because he is so disorganised he has a sad past. He is also a good guy with morals that including firing his lead actor for his behaviour.
Mallory is the organised queen who likes everything tidy who dreams off one day being a director.
On paper there all wrong for each other but could there differences be just what the other needs?
