    I am reading this series and enjoying it. Its not for the faint of heart or those sensitive to treatment or behaviors. I enjoyed the spitfire that is Luna Gallindo. She was the perfect character for being naive and yet strong. Her mother has not come back from a trip to visit family. Luna is frantic. Her father will not respond to her questions. Luna goes to the enemy, the other cartel group. Now, please know that I like this book, but Javier not so much. He mistreated Luna unnecessarily. I get it she is the enemy. Yes to the locked room in the basement or having her watched or she cannot leave the house. However the way he chose to push her away did not win any points. If she wasn't nineteen and untouched then sure, that's a deterrent. As the reader, after that scene I had to suspend reality to continue because there is no way that Luna did not require some after care from the forced unprepared entry. She wouldn't have just been able to walk around normally. It would have been more true to the story if Luna would have cried more and needed some help with the state of her bum afterwards. Luna is nineteen and would not have known how to treat that injury. I would ask the author to be authentic. You wrote this harsh scene and it does serve the purpose in this book, to Javier's personality and darkness, but then don't brush over the true aftermath. I wanted Javier to acknowledge that he purposely hurt an unsuspecting Luna to the family that he loves so much. Luna wouldn't have been able to hide the pain not just the embarrassment of hearing her screaming. It's still a good addition to the series. Read On!

    The story of Javier and Luna is the 3rd in the Medallion Cartel series. This is not your flowers and rainbows love story but you wouldn’t expect that from Erin Trejo. Great storyline.
