Threads of the War by Jeremy Strozer is a wonderful, thought-provoking, and stimulating collection of flash fiction complimented by factual details, which provide contextual authenticity at the end of each story. Each fictional miniature covers a specific event taken from the historical annals of 20th Century war. The accounts offer provocative insights related to human interactions and processes that could have been occurring behind the scenes during the course of some of wartime’s most significant and much less notable incidents. The stories are well-crafted, easy to read, and are sometimes laced with irony, humor, or carry a subtle anti-war message. The factual details included at the end of each fictional narrative, complete with relevant photos, are brief, but cleverly and effectively transform captivating fiction into a valuable educational package. I highly recommend this fast read to anyone interested, not only in history, but also in the psychological and other seemingly absurd mechanisms that often lead to tragedy of the human experience.
"Threads of the War vol II" is a powerful book with several individual stories that are based on true events. The author brings those events to life by taking cold facts and turning them into personal accounts with feelings and emotions.
It is an easy reading book but one where you will want to take your time with each story and let the powerful images sink in. I have not read the first volume but I will be getting it, if it is anything like this one it should be wonderful. ByMike Pierceon March 1, 2016

I don't read a lot of historical fiction but after a friend recommended I check this book out, I gave it a read and I'm glad I did! The author has a real knack for storytelling. His prose is vivid and accessible. He draws you into the story and you feel like you're there. It was such a nice escape to read these wonderful tales. I look forward to reading much more from this author.
