Jorah: The Brinnswick Chronicles IV Kindle Edition
Will Jorah have a chance to fall in love with the person his soul is longing for, or will the horrors of the world keep them apart?
When I was fourteen, I was sucked through a portal to another realm—the land of the fae—and forced to live there for three years. Crazy, right? Welcome to my world. Being an Ellwood means being pulled into the craziest and most dangerous situations while trying to protect the people around you. But I wouldn’t change it for anything.
For years, every time I visit the land of the fae, something seems to pull me toward the north. Naturally, it’s the most dangerous place in all of Faela, so my family forbids me to travel there. But now I know something is wrong, and I find myself unable to ignore the call I feel deep down in my soul. The peaceful feeling I normally get from the north is gone, replaced with nothing but fear and sorrow.
I know in my heart that the pull I’m feeling is from my viramore—my soulmate—and I’m afraid I might be too late to save him. If I do make it there in time, what kind of condition will I find him in? I can feel that he’s hurt, grieving, and simply waiting to fade away, and I’m too far to help. He’s in danger, I know he is, and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to keep him safe from the evil creatures hunting him.
Jorah is a 107K word novel and the fourth book in The Brinnswick Chronicles. It can be read as a standalone novel, although it’s better to read the series in order to get a better feel for the characters and the larger story arc. This MM paranormal romance contains explicit material and is intended for mature adults 18 years old and older.

About the author

Michele is married to an awesome guy that puts up with her and all the burnt dinners she makes—hey, sometimes characters are a bit distracting, and who doesn’t plot when they’re supposed to be cooking? They live together in Baltimore, Maryland with two little monsters, a three-legged princess, a four-legged goofball, and a cutie with giant ears (aka their two kids, their two cats, and their dog). She hopes to rescue another cat soon, and if her hubby wouldn’t kill her, she’d get more than one… and maybe a few more dogs as well.
She loves creating worlds filled with lots of love, chosen family, and of course, magic, but she also likes making the characters fight for that happy ending. She hopes to one day write all the stories in her head—even if there are too many to count!

- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2024Jorah’s book is the best in this series/world. It gutted me then put me back together again. I felt like Jorah was the quiet one and to see his strength after finding his viramore was a testament to Ms. Notaro’s writing prowess. I cried so hard reading this book, and that is difficult to do. Well done!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2022Laiken just might be my favorite live interest from these series of books. The little siren is so sweet and joyful and it was fun to see him experience so many new things. We’ve known Jorah as the baby of the family and also the smartest Ellwood. Now he is plagued by visions, but oddly Jorah’s intellect doesn’t come into play in this book at all. He only acts on instinct here. Delaro, who we discovered is quite clever in his own right, seems to take over the mantle of the smartest Ellwood witch.
Those little things that don’t stay consistent from book to book or even within the same story is what keeps me from giving a perfect rating to any of these books. For example, Laiken is fae and has never traveled to the human realm so he doesn’t know anything about humans or witches or any magical creature in this realm, nor does he know about man-made things like electronics. He is often confused by references - all which makes sense for his character. But I feel like the author/editor gets sloppy as we see Laiken using some human slang that he would never know or understand, things like that take me out of the story a bit. When characters are acting, well, out of character it can be distracting.
But this is a good story and I’m looking forward to the end (I guess they’ll just keep adding to the prophecy on every book?)
- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2021Knowing Michelle Notaro struggled to get this book to be completed, I'm truly proud of her and happy she managed to write an amazing 4th installment of the Brimswood Chronicle that follows the Ellwood Chronicle.
JOral going on a voyage to rescue his soulmate with the help of the Three among their significant other to fight off the evildoers. So much emotion, so many near death, y'all need a box of tissue and maybe some cuddly time with your significant other if you wanna get through this book. But I'll tell you this, it's worth the wait to get this installment. Lacin being a siren, and the LAST Siren to boost puts a bit of twist in it with the whole Last Enchantor. But hey, plots are always known to twist up on the path of discovery, right?
Keep up the good work, Michelle! You are loved by many and we all hope you come up with an epic finale of this serie. Can't wait for it <3
- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2021I already love this series and am so glad Jorah’s story is here and loved his soulmate Laiken as well. It was as wonderful as I expected and managed to bring laughter, smiles, sighs, and yes even a few tears from me-which is saying a lot because I don’t generally cry when reading pretty much anything. Not so hear with a couple of instances that just grabbed my heart and didn’t let go. From start to finish though it was just excellent. Magic, humor, love, sweet heat, and unique settings and situations.
I love this whole universe and can’t believe there’s only one more book coming, but am excited to see what happens and can’t wait for brave Talon to find his viramore.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2021Man this series holds so much of my heart and I’m excited I took a short break to wait until Talon’s story was out to revisit this world and fall in love again with them. So excited for the next and last one!! Now—Jorah and Laiken—out of all the couples so far they are my favorite. (All amazing though) but this story honest to god gave me nightmares, replacing what happened in the book with my own husband. It clearly is written with a deep beauty that clings to you. But it is hard and it hurts. I loved it though, so so much. Their love felt even bigger than the rest and the power and unique abilities gave it flair. I almost cannot believe what I just read. If you love fantasy and romance do not pass these books by they are top notch. If you are nervous about this particular couple, let me say it’s so far the best so push through the terrible tragedies—you won’t regret it. Thank you Michele Notaro for this world and these people.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2024Wow. This one starts off rough, not gonna sugar coat it and neither does Michele. Laiken goes through alot before he meets Jorah, and their connection is so strong that Jorah is right there with him feeling his emotions and hearing his screams. I appreciated that there was still some hesitancy after the rescue on Laiken’s part, even with the viramore bond, and he didn’t just fall right into being in love/lust with Jorah. The Drow are despicable and vile. My absolute favorite thing about this whole story is the bond between Toby and Laiken, these two share a special place in my heart. Second favorite is how much Seb and Ailin love Laiken. If anyone knows an inkling of what Laiken went through, it’s Toby and Seb.
It’s hard to believe that Talon’s book will finish off the series, and I have a feeling I know exactly where that one is headed.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2023Wow! What a heartbreaking emotional rollercoaster full of so many ups and downs. It had dark moments, devastating moments, then there were sweet and loving moments as well. This is definitely a story you need some tissues for!

4.0 out of 5 stars It started out so well
But it lost its steam, intensity and angst after about 25% of the book and started following the typical Michelle Notaro template for this series. I still really liked it, but I expected better from this book

5.0 out of 5 stars Tough but brilliant!
This was a hard read due to the subjects covered but at the same time, such an amazing story. Full of adventures with a new character to add to the already incredibly ensamble.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Jorah
This book was amazing g, I was looking forward to Basil and Jorah’s stories the most. But this one had me in Tears so many times, the tragedy that kept coming for Laiken and his family and Jorah trying to protect him again and again was heart breaking. But I couldn’t stop reading cause I knew there’d be HEA.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jorah...
It is difficult to contain my excitement with this book and more difficult to avoid spoilers, but I will try to let you know how wonderful this book is without spoil anything. First of all, I don't recommend to read this book as standalone, because the world built by Ms Notaro is so incredible that needs to be read in order to fully enjoy the plot, the evolution of the characters and the amazing love story. I loved every single page and even if I cried a little because the angst situations and some of the Jorah's memories and moments, at the end this book was as enjoyable, magical and incredible as the previous in the series. Wonderful reading!
