Just As I Am Kindle Edition
Benson~
I was a man who had it all. The perfect wife, terrific children, a beautiful home and my own business. Em and I were on top of the world. Until...we heard the word inoperable cancer. My entire world came crumbling down around me. I was losing my best friend, the love of my life. My new best friend became a bottle of bourbon. I am now a shell of a man drowning in my pain.
Marley~
Watching my best friend fade before my eyes is almost more than I can take. Em and I have been friends since nursing school. I never dreamed when I received that call that I would be here taking care of her, watching her vibrance wither away before my eyes. We had to say goodbye way too soon, but I made her a promise and I intend to keep it. I refuse to let him drown in his sorrows. I only wanted to pull him from the darkness, keep my promise, but life has other plans.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2019I stumbled across Just As I Am by Lynn Jaxon and after reading the synopsis, I decided to give this author a chance even though I had hundreds of books waiting to be read.
Just As I Am tells the story of a family's life as it is ripped apart by the ugly, devastating word nobody wants to hear, cancer. I immediately fell in love with Benson and his wife Emily and all too soon you are surrounded in grief and you experience their loss as a reader.
Lynn Jaxon tackles love, loss, heartache as this family falls apart and slowly rebuilds. She also adds another layer to the story with Em's bestfriend Marley who is there to witness it all. I love how the story plays out and mends the broken hearts, including my own.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2019If I could give this book more than five stars, I definitely would. This beautifully written book tells the story of how a husband goes on, after losing his one and only love. Em and Benson have just celebrated twenty-five years of marriage, when they get devasting news. Em doesn’t want chemo or radiation because she wants to enjoy what little time she has left. I won’t tell you what happens after she passes, but I will say have tissues ready. This book will take you on a roller coaster ride, but even after you read the last page, you will remember Benson. I couldn’t believe this was Lynn Jaxon’s debut novel. She did an amazing job and the editing was outstanding.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2019The first part of this book broke me...The love Emily and Benson had was an amazing thing to witness. And just a statement of fact DUCK CANCER!! Would of said the other word but didn't want the Zon to kick out my review.
I really liked Marleys character and the end of this book. Not going to give it away.
This book was done really well, it had a heartbreaking storyline, angst **need kleenex**, hot sex scenes and just a really good story.
I recommend this book.

The story of Benson and Emily is an extremely emotional story. Emily’s battle with cancer will have you in tears, but you have to keep reading. To find a true soulmate and then to lose that person is heartbreaking. Although over time Marley and Benson learn to rely on the one constant factor, they both lost their best friend.
As with anything, time can help dull the pain. Although the pain is always there, with the right person who understands exactly how you feel life can move on. Change, but never forget.
Lynn’s debut is going to make you cry, but the characters are worth it. Grab your box of tissues and enjoy this outstanding debut.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2019Lynn Jaxon took me by the hand and led me into the lives of incredible characters. In reading her words I fell in love with Benson and Em., I became engrossed in their lives, joy and love. My soul was shattered. I cried along with Em, Marley, Mitch and Harry, I sobbed with Benson. As I continued the journey my broken heart was sewn back together in life, love and the belief in new beginnings. Thank you Lynn, congratulations on a mind blowing first book. I’m gonna love you forever.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2019I know I'm in the minority here giving Just As I Am three stars, but please know from the start, I think that Lynn Jaxon has a lot of potential. This book was done pretty well- I liked Benson, and I truly felt the love he had for his wife, Emily. The beginning of this book was so heartfelt, and I cried (I love to cry, too, so this was a good thing). It was the second half of the book that I think went downhill for me a bit. Things between Benson and Marley just progressed too quickly for me- I didn't feel as if Benson had enough time to really mourn Emily. And the kids seem to move on quickly, as well.
Again, I liked the book, and will definitely be on the lookout for more from Lynn Jaxon.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2019Break out the Kleenex cause the first half of this book will gut you. Don't throw your kindle across the room, 'cause when you get done ugly crying, there's a still a HEA in sight. Lynn Jackson brings all the feels as she shows us one cannot have the light without first living in the dark. Solid start for Lynn Jackson's debut book that leaves me looking forward to what's up next.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2019I started this story and finished in one night. I couldn’t put it down. I sobbed my way through most of this story and fell in love with the writing and characters. Such an emotional and uplifting read that will stick with me for a long time. This is one of the best reads of 2019 for me and I highly recommend everyone read this.

Wow this book was filled with emotions! I loved that you got to fall in love with both couples but life doesn't always turn out the way you planned & I truly hope that if you lose your first true love that you can find it again

5.0 out of 5 stars All the hotness with a good old ugly cry thrown in.
What a debut this is for Lynn Jaxon, she’s gone right in with all the hotness, then pulling your heart right out of your chest for a good old ugly cry.
But this is also a HEA.
A book of 2 stories, both fill with Love and so much sadness too all surrounding Benson.
Just when you think you have everything you’ve ever wanted and worked so hard for, to have your world ripped right out in front of you with very little warning, and not a thing you can do to stop it.
How do you mend when you have lost half of yourself.
This is a rollercoaster of a journey with a twist.

5.0 out of 5 stars So good I couldn't put it down
I read this book in one day. It was a great story where you really got to know the characters when their backgrounds. It was like reading two books. But I loved Em,Benson, and Marley. I laughed out loud and ugly fried and fell a little bit in love.

3.0 out of 5 stars Emotional reading
-Warning alert - You will need tissues-
This was such an emotional story I wanted to put it down to recover but I kept on turning the pages.
When Benson loses Em his life long soul mate he drowns in his own self loathing while her best friend Marley only wants to help him he keeps her at arms length when he starts having feelings for her.
Although I liked this book it was a see through storyline and quite honestly dragged on a bit but it had a happy ending
